What do we do when we fall? We get up, dust ourselves off and start walking in the right direction again. Perhaps when we fall, it is easy to forget there are people along the way who help us stand and walk with us as we get back on track.

What would you get if all you got was what you were thankful for?
  • Valentine's Day successfully negiotiated without incurring any major expenses and some encouraging signs on the ebay listings means I seem to be ending this week in a good place. I know people in my business are (quite rightly) derided for the amount of holidays available but I am really feeling like I need a break. Taking into account the state of shock I was still in October, and the mother-in-law visiting over Christmas, from tonight is going to be the first time I can really take my foot off the pedal since August. And what's the first thing I want to do on my holiday - go for a 5k run at stupid o'clock at Saturday morning. I must be mad.

Hi Mr B., just found your thread. You sound like you have been on a rollercoaster these past few months. I cannot even contemplate what being in over quarter of a million pounds debt must feel like - I hope your house is beautiful and worth every penny.

I saw earlier in your thread that you like jigsaws. Have you tried online jigsaws? I like one called bigjig from lenagames. It's free to download, and they have a new jigsaw every week to download. Up to 2000 or so pieces, or you can choose a lower number of pieces. No space needed on the kitchen table and no worries about not having all the pieces.

Good luck with your new job. Working with people you trust can be more important and better than a big paycheck.

Enjoy your half term break Mr B I sometimes feel guilty about the holidays.............then I think about what I have had to do this week that cant be done during term time cos getting the time off for dental/doc/other appointments is nigh on impossible plus I have spent one day in work catching up ( with no heating on !) and will clock up about 20 hours at home on 'work' stuff never mind just catching up on domestic things.....................dont feel so bad now! Have a good one :)

OMG I really need my half term, 7.5 weeks of constant working both evenings and weekends (ON SCHOOL RELATED STUFF)as well as the actual teaching 9-3 that I think most non-teaching people believe is all we do. If you could see my list of things to do this half term...... work, work and more work. Love my job, love the kids but we really do need these breaks to recharge and catch up. HAPPY HALF TERM X:T
  • Spent the last three days sorting out the teaching the kids to ride bikes, sorting the shed, the garden, ebay, the garden stuff in the shed, the ebay stuff in the shed, the shed stuff in the shed and communicating with a variety of lunatics from Bromley to Stockholm. £150 up on sales from this last listing frenzy. Kids have taken it upon themselves to create a vast pile of DVDs too babyish for them that I can sell online and much as I try and keep it out of the house, I do feel like I am living in a giant car boot sale. Off to the tip now while the good weather holds.
