301k in debt and morbidly obese - things aren't great!

Biting the bullet, taking the plunge and experiencing all manner of other challenging cliches, I stood on the scales and checked all the balances. Was pleasantly surprised that the micro-management of the Bloater budget has allowed us to knock a few hundred off the total debt despite the considerable reduction in income. And more pleasing is the fact that I am aware of some slippage in spending that has happening, and if we can cut that out for next month then the picture can look healthier. Selling the stuff on eBay helped, helped a lot and I cannot let this free listing weekend pass me by. Everyone in the house is getting conscripted tomorrow to help on the effort - either by finding things we can list or keeping the heck out of my way so I can get on and do the brain-numbing listing process without constant interruption.
Also found out I have lost a bit of weight, and so Mrs B and I are starting up the old calorie counting again today - it works for us, and means I get to set up another spreadsheet. And provided the arctic conditions don't get this far south, I will be trundling around my manor tomorrow morning for hopefully 5 kilometres.
Picked up some additional work for June which should add another £400 to the pot, and have got through the first stage of the application process for similar work with another company which should pay about the same - fingers crossed.
And today I also have the chance to sort out the thing that stands out like a sore thumb on our SOA - the home insurance - which seems to be about double what other folk on here are paying. And we're going to sign up to the MSE utilities club or whatever it's called.
Feeling pretty buzzed about things today - hope you all have a fun and productive weekend.2011: 301k in debt and morbidly obese (DFW)

Have you looked at myfitnesspal - you can log food and exercise on there - very goodA positive attitude may not solve all your problems, but it will annoy enough people to make it worth the effortMortgage Balance = £0

Well done Mr B - sounds like all your efforts are paying off. Brilliant work reducing the debt on a lower income.

Well I am pretty astounded. Managed to get the home and contents insurance down from a frankly insane quotation of £75 quid a month to a far more reasonable £17 - for a better policy with extra legal protection and stuff if I lose limbs. Even my previous insurer advised me to switch - they couldn't fathom out why I had been paying so much over the years. So that's just over £50 a month saved. And I've kept under my calorie limit today. Woo hoo - back on track. Hope to be able to report a run and a glut of listings tomorrow. Surely the time has come for the Adam and the Ants sun visor to find a new home.2011: 301k in debt and morbidly obese (DFW)
