301k in debt and morbidly obese - things aren't great!

Evening folks. The thanks button just does not do justice to the feeling of support I get on here and I am very grateful indeed for your kind words and thoughts. And the first day is over - and it was good. Could not sleep from 1am onwards and was a total mental wreck by the time morning came - selfdoubt totally trumped the swagger - but as the day wore on I got back into my stride and left today with a big cheesy grin on my face, and more importantly - managed to get the boy Bloater out of nursery only about 10 minutes later than before and was home in good time. My nightmare predictions about losing an hour extra each day with the kids have proved to be misplaced. So now it's simply down to the reduced money - all the other downsides have been covered, and so it's back to doing what this place is all about - moneysaving. Think I'll leave the running til the weekend though - don't want to burn myself out - but I am a very happy man at the moment and am off to make a celebratory mug of tea.2011: 301k in debt and morbidly obese (DFW)

Quality not quantity is best when it comes to my children i find.
Time spent doing nothing in particular is not worth half as much as time spent listening and having fun with them and you sound like a hands on Dad so i wouldnt worry about less time with them.
Less income can also teach them life lessons without them even knowing it too, budgeting skills, debt avoidance, well balanced happy living, all great lessons you are passing on without even realising it.
Dont beat yourself up, you sound like a great Dad

Brilliant Mr B, so glad it went well :T.A positive attitude may not solve all your problems, but it will annoy enough people to make it worth the effort

I am delighted to hear your first day went so well and that you aren't going to lose any time with your children. I do agree with dimples666 though!0

MrBloater you have inspired me!
I decided maybe i am not too ill to exercise, maybe i just have to think small. In the same way that every penny counts for us debt shrinkers maybe every step counts when it comes to exercise and some is better than none.
So today i walked round the park with my toddler instead of going straight to the duck pond as i have done of late.
Then when we got home i took her back out for her to ride her bike for a while (speed walking after her!!)
I am shattered now but feel really positive
Thanks

Well done MrB. Getting the first day out of the way in a new job is always the hardest.
