Am hanging like laundry on the line this morning - at an old mate's BBQ yesterday afternoon saw me overindulge considerably. Could do with a day under a duvet but I have a feeling that waking at 4am on the kitchen floor could well be the highlight of a day that has already seen tantrums from both kids and a visit from my parents.

Looking at photos of yesterday I am more than living up to my username. Got to stop the rot somehow.

In the old pre-MSE days I would be stocking up on stuff from the local Co-Op to get me through the day. Anyone got any MSE hangover cures?

So far my hangover has not been helped much by tuna pasta salad, some odd blue energy drink, endless caffeine, two terrifying trips to the tip with my father in a car that he's managed to turn from a perfectly sedate VW Polo into a shivering shuddering wreck and the hatchback flew open on the way home - I thought the whole thing was going to collapse like the Del and Rodney's car did yesterday in the closing ceremony, grumpy washing machine repairman - who called me at lunchtime to check that I still wanted the washing machine fixed - what was he expecting - that I'd simply change my mind?, and, having engineered a device to keep the shed door closed when I am inside it, found there was no way to undo said device and so was locked in and had to unscrew a bit of the door to get out. I would like it to be bedtime. Soon.
  • Hello Mr Bloater, I'm glad you popped up in my inbox. I'd given up too, can't even face putting this month's total in my signature and as for the weight.....If you can get back on the wagon, surely I can? If I can stop crying for five minutes I'll find the courage to tot up the numbers and brave the scales. I don't know if it's related to the summer holidays but my kidneys feel like they're packing up and I feel a wretched mess. I think my kids hate me. I need valium. I've given up drinking....again. Good luck with your resumed diary.

Mr B, it will be bedtime - soon. Honestly.

Shower of Roses, ((hugs)), you have so much to cope with. Can you just tackle one thing at a time? Try to make good food choices for tonight, try to keep hydrated, give yourself enough rest eevn if you don't sleep. It will all put you in a better position to tackle tomorrow.

Is this a day for hugs for all who need them? :grouphug:

Morning. Somehow yesterday managed to deteriorate further and come 11.30pm I was comfort eating ice-cream. Today has started with a stronger resolve - am needing to pick my battles carefully and likely on a day-to-day basis - whilst the lard, the debt and the clutter are all interlinked, I need seperate strategies for each of them.
Lard - this morning I've found out what my target calories should be to lose 2lb a week and cos I love spreadsheets and all that blah I will be religiously inputting and checking my count throughout the day.
Debt - am going to concentrate on relisting the remaining crud from my once shimmering record collection on eBay, rather than any other oddities - hence it's going to be a while before Adam Ant's sun visor gets a new home. At least I can just bring the box in from the shed without causing major disruption.
Clutter - I'm determined to keep enough floorroom in the shed that I could swing a small riverdancer around and so nothing else goes in there until something comes out.

    .

Start a spread sheet for your alcohol units too! It can get quite addictive - and it's really interesting to see patterns emerge. (The government maximum limit for a man is 21 units a week.)

What do we do when we fall? We get up, dust ourselves off and start walking in the right direction again. Perhaps when we fall, it is easy to forget there are people along the way who help us stand and walk with us as we get back on track.
