Hey Mr Bloater just wanted to wish you tons of goodluck017.gif
What do we do when we fall? We get up, dust ourselves off and start walking in the right direction again. Perhaps when we fall, it is easy to forget there are people along the way who help us stand and walk with us as we get back on track.
  • I've been really inspired reading through this thread (I'm about 24 pages in so far...)

For starters I'm going to change my route to work - I currently walk 1.8 miles each way, tomorrow I'm going to more than double it to 4.2 - already got a route planned :)

Brrr! Too cold for even the craziest to go out running this morning. Good luck back at work for all those of you returning. Must remember to keep thoughts to myself and mouth firmly shut for the next year.

If ever I get caught on this thread bemoaning poor luck please can somebody point me back to here cos I had a fair old share of the good stuff today. Didn't have to be in work til 10 so was busy pottering around doing various til 9.40. Then found my car was a dodo and with mother nature lashing down upon me it was going to be a messy time, but was able to call the Assistance folk who promised to be there at 11.00, take the keys to my Dad's Polo (he had come up to look after the kids who don't go back til tomorrow) and fold myself up into it and chug along as merrily as you can in a gale with a 1.1 engine when you're used to driving something with three times the grunt. But nonetheless arrived at work on time, and when I called home at lunchtime my car had been fixed and I was able to leave work at 4 and give the Polo back. And all this without spending any money. I'm just thankful that it happened when there was another car available and the kids weren't in danger of being stranded. Unlike the other day at the Leeds Castle maze where me and DD got trapped in there, she started panicking so I found a perimeter hedge and was starting to kick our way through until a member of staff came to our (and the maze's aid). So I will count my blessings, a bullet was dodged with the car today cos I could have been looking at massive inconvenience and/or massive expenditure. Which would have kinda taken the shine off the new year.

It sounds so mawkish to say this, but acknowledging the things you have already, that you can be grateful for, is really important, gives a positive spin to your life that can be very uplifting.
