Never in my adult (or indeed child) life have I ever before voluntarily stayed in on a Sunday morning to prepare something that had to be done for Monday morning. It's always been a Sunday night or get up first thing on Monday kind of mentality for me. But some nerdiness possessed me today and whilst Mrs B and the kids have gone to Bluewater, I have stayed here and done some stuff that needed doing. It's a very odd feeling to have done what I needed to, I have spent a lifetime of having some nagging feeling in the back of my mind throughout the Sunday, and today it's gone. This is all like the complete opposite of a mid-life crisis, more of a mid-life stability. Very odd.

I wish I could learn this. I am sure it is a wonderful feeling. I am equally sure I will be up till the wee small hours marking books.

    Good Work Mr B

    Nevertheless she persisted.

I have read your whole diary and love it. Bluewater is good for shopping for Mrs B. Maybe not for moneysavings though!! Well done on the forward planning it is a good feeling.

Am starting to think that everything I thought I knew about eBay (which admittedly wasn't much) is a complete shambles. I just cannot get my head around how listing records by the same bands that 2 weeks ago were getting bids throughout the sale time have sat online for a whole week (20 items - without a single bid placed on them). I did everything according to the 'book' - listings to finish 8pm ish tonight, on for 7 days, even emailed the people who had bought the last lot of items (and given me good feedback) to alert them of the fresh crop. And yet, absolutely sod all. I am not a patient man, and have delisted all but 8 of the records now, I have no appetite to see the vinyl go for 99p a pop by a last minute sniper which I am guessing will happen with the last ones on there. Totally flipping baffled. But still smiling - just thought I better add that before the usual doomaholic jumps in with some further words of misery.
  • Its odd. We find this with items we sell. One week something will take off next week the similar item will not draw any interest.
Loving the diary Mr B. I am a secret follower.

I think that might be the problem Mr B. There may not be that many buyers for these records and you might be deluging them a bit. It might be better to dripfeed them onto ebay over 6 months. Also I think November and December people have a very squeezed wage cheque (I know I do) and switch from buying for themselves to buying gifts for other people. I am sure things will pick up for your sales.

Don't lose heart, you're doing so great with all your many challenges :T

£4.68 - Beware eBay newbies - it is not the path to richness some will convince you. In the end pulled all but 3 records, two went for the 99p starting price, the other for £2.70. So much for the elisive lastminute flurry of activity. Trouble is, I have about 3 tonnes of cardboard in the shed. I think I'm going to have to build that flipping dinosaur now. Maybe I could then sell it on eBay.

You see Mr B, every cloud has a silver lining :T.

I find midweek evenings is best for ending listings - currently I do Tues at just after 9pm.

Are you planning on running tomorrow? I promise to swim at least 1/2 a mile if you do

Tomorrow I will have to be better planned.
