I always put chick peas in my curries...oh god...between us we've destroyed the ozone layer :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

Landlords insurance I have at the princely cost of £2500 a year. Never even thought about legal coverage, I'll go and dig it out. Have to admit that are slowly stumping up for the fire-raiser flat, got the first bits through this week. Should be finished by Christmas...what a blinking nightmare. SH and DFW - thou art geniuses (genii??), brilliant spot ladies.

Two flats have now sprung leaks so gentle words of encouragement like "go and ask upstairs to turn the water off yah numpty" have been dispensed. Sometimes its like have a tribe of small, slightly slow teenagers to herd. My favourite is still the official complaint received because I wasn't supplying the carbon monoxide he knew was his legal right...there should be licences issued before some people can breed!

Dr Seuss sounds good. Nice watching something with the kids. Small boy and I sit and watch various flavours of the biggest loser preferably whilst eating dinner...always makes us feel good for some twisted reason :j

I've chemo tomorrow and haven't done the 50 odd pages of photocopying demanded by the council. Told him I'm ill and I'll do it when I can...it gets me so wound up and stressed even thinking about it - sorry all.

Was very good about cooking today and have left overs in fridge for Small Boys lunch (half term) and a roasted chicken for dinner - no idea if I'll be here to eat or not. If not he can scoff with some oven chips or even crisps. At least I know he's fed.

Bed soon to see if I can doing this sleeping thing. Gave in and took a pill last night, over 10 hours of shut eye, bl00dy brilliant. What a difference it makes to both your physical and mental well being.

Glad you got some shut eye - its life transforming when you sleep compared with when you can't!

Don't feel bad about whinging on here - it's allowed anyway - its your diary = we CHOSE to subscribe LOL. Besides it's good for you to get it out of your system - and occasionally people may even be able to help.

It was funny last night - we were at friends for a meal - one couple that were there first asked us some questions to help them - and then took turns helping us with some of our issues. That's what I call true friendship... Improved my weekend. It helped that DS was so happy to babysit his sister - he now welcomes the time to himself - having TV choice etc... Every time I look at DS at the moment I am convinced he's grown - he;s almost as tall as OH now... Only a couple of inches in it tops now...

Sounds like you had a great weekend SH and kudos to DS for enjoying his babysitting duties so much. They grow up so fast in someways and are still kids in others.

Chemo 5 done...just :o Went in on last allowable attempt and my blood tests qualified by a tiny fraction...reading had to be at least 1, mine were 1.01. So new super anti-emetic prescribed and sent home as there's nothing else they can give me. Hopefully this will work as its the drug of choice in the USA.

So on happy buzzy positive note only one more to go
Frogs for this week are keeping the insurance work going including phoning Scottish Power to ask them to stick the power back on...tenant had jury-rigged the supply and was soaking up free electricity  And photocopying stuff for souncil and stinky tenant.

Just had 8 letters from Bank of Scotland upping their variable rate mortgages...why...because the barstewarts can. Base rate is 0.5, variable is almost 4.5 higher...nice little earner

    Thanks chaps.

8 mortgages went from fixed to variable last month. With new conditions plus costs not worth looking for new fixed deals at the moment. Bottom line is mortgages tripled from just under £1000 to just on £3000. Now for no reason whatsoever they've been pushed up another 0.1% from 1st November. That's another £100 or so to find.

I felt more comfortable when I had some income to act as a buffer but thats all gone. I am keeping us afloat from savings and trying to be reasonably sensible but also desperate for Small Boy's life to remain as constant as possible and so weekly outlay on maths tutor and driving lessons will continue.

I know I'll make it back up when I'm in work so just need to hang on until April - eat all the Easter Eggs and then get back into working again. Until then things like stinky tenant and roll-on-their-backs council, are not helping.

Sorry if this sounds like a whingefest, but getting it out somewhere really helps. I'm so, so glad I had a slush fund (was going to put to mortgage) so that we can survive our income being destroyed for a year.

Hi KJ well done on getting through another stage of chemo that is ace news. I hope it kills it stone dead. Sorry to hear about the mortgage rise. Would it work to put one of the rentals on the market, or can you REALLY struggle through for the next 6 months? Nice spot by the ladies about the lawyer insurance. Hope that helps you as well.
