  • Oh please. I've only just read this charming comment. Leave the country. If you want to do something that much, get off your arse, stop whining and make an effort. Within the European union you can go and work anywhere. Are you really trying to tell me you can't find a single job in the whole of Europe??

I bet you haven't even tried. You'd rather sit here and moan. Moan about how this country is a joke. Moan about the forms you have to fill in. Moan about jury service. Go and moan elsewhere. This country could do without moaning babies like you.

    BUZZ!! ASSUMPTIONS FAIL!! :rotfl:

Yes, I have looked (and on occasion applied) jobs across Europe and the wider world too. The two main problems however are my lack of languages (reasonably easy to overcome) but more importantly lack of finances by which to relocate. I have also asked if support is available for relocation to Europe and as with everything else the answer is no. In addition I am completely unskilled so why on Earth would any company hire me over a local?

In fact have a peek at my Jobseeker agreement.

Maybe watching somebodies life potentially ruined by a prison sentence will put his problems into perspective! ie a late tax repayment & selling a possessions.

Went to a load of hassle to retrieve a letter sent to me by recorded delivery which I could not sign for as I was at work. I won't go into it but when I finally get it I find it is a citation for jury duty.

So you have no job, but were at work when the letter came?

    TBF, he does have dysgraphia!

You don't come across very well, RagingGoose. Perhaps your negativity isn't helping you in your seek for work. I know I have little to go on (this thread) but then so does an employer. Lack of languages shouldn't prevent your working in Europe - it's a cliche but most places speak English. Lack of funds I can understand, but how much do you really need? The next job you get here, can't you save a little each month as a cushion for when you finally get to Europe?

If you want something enough, you've got to keep trying.

  • Don't know if you are but if you are so proud of being British then I hope you won't bother claiming any benefits.

I'll claim benefits when I need them and think nothing of it. I was encouraged by this country to attend university at cost of £15,000 on promise of an education, I did not receive one and the bit of paper I got at the end has made it harder for me to find work not easier.

In addition none of you seem to care less that the DWP is wasting your money on a daily basis. If 'training' companies can put their hand in your pocket and buy a mansion and sports car why should I care about spending your money on rice and milk? Get your priorities straight.
I also hope that if you are ever abroad and in trouble then you won't wave your British passport and expect the British authorities to help you.

Firstly I'll never be abroad because I have no job and when I do find a job my money will go between the government overtaxing me and paying off a £15,000 student debt. :rotfl:

However are you kidding? Do you seriously think for a second I would bother my !!!! going anywhere near the British authorities? Our country couldn't arrange a !!!! up in a brewery. I'd end up having to fill out a bunch of forms and wait a year. :rotfl:

Anyway thinks to EU citizenship I can just go to a nice efficient German consulate for help ;)

You sound very bitter. Are you depressed?

  • You should do jury service (and do it properly, not @rse about at it) because one day you might be the one sat in the dock and you'll want a fair trial.

Also, I'm confused - How is it possible that the letter came while you were at work and put you out by having to go collect it when you are claiming job seekers allowance? Are you a liar or a fraudster?

just curious...if you're claiming jsa while working it might be your turn in the dock sooner rather than later!
Common sense?...There's nothing common about sense!

I don't work for the DWP and hence don't enter data into their systems. That error was written by one of our governments high quality employees ;)

A very pedantic complaint however :D

He did say he had a job but lost it. I assumed the letter came whilst he was employed, but he shortly afterwards (i.e. very recently) lost his job.
