I had one of these yesterday, my son found it in the cupboard, forgot I had it.

They are now called Boozy Beef pies so someone must've pulled them on it!

Still sold as "Boozy Steak and Ale" pie as far as I know.

True, but doesn't that come down to the government and the children’s TV programming? Animals are personified, meaning to a child that they would effectively be eating their 'friends'. If this was stopped and children grew up like people did on a farm years ago then they would know exactly what they were eating and not think that it was some kind of miracle. :o

    We live in the country.
My kids would eat Nemo if you gave them a fire and a stick.

I'm of the opinion that it's better to have an animal born and reared, in good healthy conditions for food consumption, than for them to have never been born. At least they experience precious life. ;)

Does the little winking face mean you're joking? I hope so, because if you really think that animals are reared in "good, healthy" conditions for cheap meat products then you're sadly mistaken.

Their lives are often little more than torture and their deaths terrifying and often painful. Hardly what I'd call precious life.

All meat eaters should have to tour factory farms and slaughterhouses so they can see the atrocities committed for their benefit. All that suffering just so they can eat cheap meat products.
Love the animals: God has given them the rudiments of thought and joy untroubled. Do not trouble their joy, don't harrass them, don't deprive them of their happiness.

I didn't mention cheap meat. I mentioned animals that had been raised in good, healthy conditions which you should know carries a premium. So no, I wasn't joking.
There's a storm coming, Mr Johnson. You and your friends better batten down the hatches, because when it hits, you're all gonna wonder how you ever thought you could live so large and leave so little for the rest of us.

I used to prefer Tyne Brand pies, no lumps of fat or grissle guaranteed and I never did find any.

As has been said so many times, it doesn't matter what food it is, there is always a chance that something nasty could have been done to it, including vegetarian meals.

I find it most economical to make my own pies, with good cubed stewing steak from the butchers and HM pastry.
