I got one from carphone warehouse, as I had noticed the site had went down (before the price had lowered) and I figured they were changing the price, so just refreshed until the site came back up, probably about 10mins I did it for.
Mine was dispatched today.0 -
reserved touchpad at argos on sunday for pickup between weds and friday. Email I received said in stock then out of stock on weds. Rang up with my reservation number sent by text. Lady said was in store, told her to keep it aside couldnt make it today. After wondering whether it would go walkabouts rang them to make sure it was in store again before I made the 30 mile journey.
got to argos self service didnt recognise reservation number! Got to till number not recognised!
told them names of staff I spoke to another lady said oh I thought you werent coming today? Went to speak to manager who nodded approval. Got to collection point and member of staff offered to buy it off me! I Quickly grabbed the box said no and ran out!
got a feeling touchpad wouldnt have been there if I left it to the next day!

Couldn't get to Argos until this morning to pick up the 32gb I'd ordered on Monday. Luckily nobody had stolen my reservation but did get the 3rd degree at the collection point by the woman wanting to know how I'd managed to reserve it as they'd had a memo sent round instructing them not to allow anybody to reserve one! Explained I'd reserved it some days ago....and was congratulated on my good fortune!0

Now I'm not accusing you of anything and I read the number off my phone as well either from a text or an email but no-one has ever asked to see what I'm reading if you see what I mean. Even a print off in theory could be fudged as well as you could order any aul thing on-line then change the details to match before printing.
Maybe all this should be fed back to Argos? They don't ask for confirmation of your name, email address or phone number when collecting so anyone can do what has been previously posted.
The reservation number that's been issued by Argos is unique to you and your purchase. How could anyone else know what you have ordered. Surely it must be a chance in a million that someone could choose A:- The Branch who are holding the reserved item and B:- The Reservation number. I'd think that this Reservation is computer generated and doubt if any Random Punter could come up with info? I'm not accusing Argos Staff but would think that the only way a Reservation Number could be passed on fraudulently would be from within the branch?0 -

Just seen Tesco have added a 64GB version of the touchpad, saying available from September.

I’ve had this on my Comet wish list, didn’t get it of course and should have done what others did yesterday and gone to store and paid for one up front. Demand has undoubtedly exceeded supply and like everything else in short supply increased the price.. If you think Amazons prices are a rip off the price for touchpad on my Comet wishlist is now showing £4,444.44 !
