I ordered one into store, it's meant to be there today but not had a text yet to confirm do they text?
If you give me the reservation no and store I will check for you:D
serioulsy, go down asap. People are picking them up by going through reservation numbers and staff are also keeping some.
you wont get a text, only one to remind you to collect0 -
Retro_bunny - yes we have Currys and PC World here, but not Comet. An no Touchpads either!
I've got an email from Argos from my reservation on Monday but no txt with a code, meant to be sent today when stock comes in, not very hopeful!0 -
how are you managing to reserve them in argos when saying out of stock? is this a sign of whether or not your local store has one? thanksA happy wife, and mum to 2 lovely little boys :j0

People reserved them earlier in the week when you were able to - stores had to order in stock which is why some people had a few days before they had to collect0 -
If you're referring to me mrsv05, my reservation is from Monday when you could still reserve...0

phoned the shop, spoke to manager, she is very apologetic and told me they traced it back to a gentleman that took my reservation. she even said is was on CCTV
couldnt fault the staff they were friendly . Just my luck0 -

i wasn't refering to anyone inparticular, just wondering if while changing bums and feeding kids ive missed something on here. My mum would like one so have been looking on here just incase a retailer magically gets them in. id imagine though that with all the hype staff would get them now. when i asked at currys a few days ago the staff hanging around pretty much said they'd buy them all between them.A happy wife, and mum to 2 lovely little boys :j0 -
I never thought of taking someone elses reservation. Shows just how immoral some people are. I know people were working their way through the CPW reservation numbers to see what had been processed but I don't think there was any personal identifiable information. It's amazing though that in this day and age, there is no security check done on a reservation.
I picked my 32GB up yesterday but I wasn't convinced until I had it in my hand. I phoned Argos CS and they said it was in the warehouse and would be in store by Friday. A few minutes later I had a text saying it was ready to collect. Was in contact with Argos via Twitter (my first attempt at Twitter as well!) and phoned the store directly before I would leave the house as it's a 1 hour round trip with 2 kids.
Got to the store and quoted my reservation number from memory. Was told it didn't exist. Switched 2 numbers around just in case I was having baby brain but that didn't exist. Double checked my email and the first number was right. No idea why it didn't work first time but the woman couldn't believe I had one. I had reserved on Sunday when the fire sale rumours first started and picked a store with no stock that would have to order in. Seems another girl had issues at the exact same store yesterday with her reservation disappearing but 'apparently' her reservation had been extended but they did this by deleting the original one and creating a new one.
Personally you can't blame the staff for trying to nab themselves a bargain. Others work for HP (or close relatives) and by the time they were given the heads up, us lot had nabbed them all. Same goes for Argos staff as the price changed on Tuesday night after closing time so they didn't know until the next day. I'm not saying it's right but when Joe Bloggs is being devious you can't blame staff for following the bad example set by the customers.phoned the shop, spoke to manager, she is very apologetic and told me they traced it back to a gentleman that took my reservation. she even said is was on CCTV

From a quote I heard the other day, "I hope his next s**t is a hedgehog"0 -
Taking someone's reservation number is appalling. People seem to have got caought up in the frenzy and forgotten their morals.
Karma, however, will ensure they trip over the pavement on the way back to their car :-)0 -
can't believe people will stoop so low as to steal Argos reservations! I reserved last Sunday when it was full price, got the text to say it was ready for collection until 30th August, and went in to collect yesterday morning as soon as I'd read that Argos had finally dropped the price.
If I can get it in my little Argos branch in the Yorkshire Dales, then surely there is still hope for those with reservations and waiting - good luck to you all and hope you get yours.0
