Sky tv package reshuffle

Hi, once you downgrade you can not watch anything that you have recorded on the channels you have got rid of even when you get the channels back. I downgrade movies all the time, I only get them when they are half price then get rid before price goes up and whatever I have recorded I will never get to playback again once downgraded even if I get movies back0

It is in all of their literature that you won't be able to watch recorded programs on channels you no longer have. Every time I've down graded I've also been told this.I would like to thank everyone who contributed to the Ramada/Days Inn BRG thread.0

I have called to ask about this and they told me to reboot The only thing they 'can do' is restore the box which means deleting everything from the box and starting a fresh!!
Which is absolute cow poop as far as I am concerned
This is the trouble with Sky. I learned a long time ago to never call them for technical advice. They always have you do the reset but it always results in a reboot because they don't know what the heck they are doing. :rotfl:
The best option is to download your recordings onto an external hardrive before you cancel a package.0 -
I DO have them though...... I still have all of the channels and I am still subscribed to them. They were not cancelled, they were reshuffled. The reshuffle has meant people have lost their recordings. We still get ALL channels (except sports, cos they are crap, LOL)
If I tape something on Sky 1 now I can watch it. Something recorded on Sky 1 a few months ago, I cannot.
As will be the case with many other MSE'rs who were told to switch to Kids or Style & Culture so they could get all channels in the reshuffle.
There should not have been any 'downgrade' to the Kids Package as, from 1st September, the Kids Mix no longer exists as a package and my change was on 20th September - it is either Entertainment or Entertainment Extra: http://www.sky.com/shop/tv/entertainment-packs/entertainment-extra/?irct=products-EntertainmentExtra
The people on the Kids Mix were switched to the package containing the Kids Mix (Entertainment Extra) for the same price of £19 a month, and because of the price freeze will pay £19 a month until September 2012 instead of £25 a month.0 -
Sometimes it just takes them a while to shut the channels off?0

Who told misadvised you to do this? See your other thread on why you have lost access to your old recordings. By following that misadvice you have lost access to recordings in the old Entertainment package which you cancelled - you now have access to those channels under the Entertainment + pack but have lost the old recordings as you cancelled and no longer subscribe to that entertainment pack they were encrypted to. Just an unfortunate side effect of you trying to save money and cancelling down a package too far. Live with it0 -
i have the full package deal, but when i didnt take the Hd this time, i wasnt able to watch the programes i had recorded a while back in hd in my planner. what a pain, recorded a whole series of a program to enjoy when it finished :-)0

The lady at Sky Customer Services did when I called to ask about the Reshuffle. I called the upgrade option as I wanted to make sure I dod not lose anything and did not lose any channels. She just told me to change to kids and I would save money for a year, she assured me I would not lose any channels.
It was noted on their site that the packages were changing and I called to ask why as I did not know.
Seems others on the reshuffle thread were advised of the same thing by Sky Customer Services from what I was reading last night on there.0 -

You see that I could understand, but to not be able to watch programmes on Sky1 when you still have Sky1 is just ridiculous as far as I can see.
Even Sky Technical say it should not be happening.0
