Oh no. I've had a look through and I still have mine. I can do without losing half the stuff we watch during half term. They told me they would not be cancelled for 31 days.

In fact, they are charging me for them for another 31 days. If you have been told the same then then they should not have been removed as you will be charged for the 31 days. I would speak to them about that ASAP.

Someone stated earlier that if your cancellations aren't in effect by Sept. 1, you may not automatically get the new channels at your old price, in which case I've been done a favor by having these cut off now. I really don't know.

We already get everything except sports and downgraded to just Kids Mix - the worst that can happen is I have to call up and get everything put back on again. It'll only be another 50p a month. I'll post if the same thing happens to me.

    When did you cancel?

Monday, the 22nd. The worst that will happen to us is the bill will go up 1.50, and considering I'd been needing to cancel the music anyway, it will go up 2.50. Fairly annoying if that happens -- please let me know if your channels, disappear, too! Mine didn't go all at once, either, sort of strange.
  • Good News!!!

I am currently have Entertainment & Knowledge Package aswell as sky talk freetime & Broadband everyday lite. In May I rang them to cancel as I was paying was £20.50 + 12.25 = £32.75, they said they would give me half price tv for 6 months withour any hassle - which brings the cost down to £22.50/month ending end of Oct.

I rang them just now to enquire about the price freeze. The woman said what i'm paying now will remain the same until August 2012 - so I'll be paying £22.50 and from September, and I get all 6 packages, since I have the knowledge package added on.

So being cheeky, I also tried to add multiroom at the same time, (which potentially would mean £32.75 to watch the all 6 packages on 2 sky + boxes in 2 different rooms) but she confused me a bit when she said I would loose the half price tv offer. But anyway not too fused about multiroom.

So If people have neogitated a discounted price which ends after September, they will keep that price until August 2012. (well so I have been told by sky)

This is excelent news for some :-)

On the sky website it says the price freeze excludes any offers, so doubtful that you will get the price freeze at the half price offer you negotiated for 6 months.

" Price Freeze applies to all customers who have an active subscription on 31 August 2011. It will be applied to Sky monthly subscriptions until 31 August 2012, excluding offers, call rates, administrative changes, VAT changes and any changes made to your subscription, including changes to your Sky TV Packs"

I called a few days ago to change, just called back now to confirm and been told I'll be paying £19.50 a month for all channels. So it looks like it's definitely working even if you only cancelled this week :D
  • I have just rang sky back to confirm and the customer service team said, from Sept all offers will expire. So I said I wanted to cancel my subscription. I went through to cancellations/"retentions" and told them to cancel my subscription, as not happy I only will have 4 months half price TV instead if the 6 months promised. He spoke to his manager and said, they will honnor any offers made previously, but when this ends (19th Nov) I will go back onto the original price of £20.50 till Aug 2012.

I said to the guy, I will still be cancelling the subscription even though I get the full 6 packages till Nov at £10.25. He said "quietly" gives us a ring back 31 days before your offer ends, and we may have another offer. So looks promising I still may get cheaper a offer than 20.50 for all 6 packages.

    No harm in trying!

Just a couple more days and we'll find out if we really get all the channels added back or not....

Anyone else already had channels cut off like I did? I cancelled a few of them last week.

    I think they will.

I've had an offer from sky for 12 months half price, when I took it (a few days ago) I went through all the details and made sure what I would get.
I stayed with the package I was on, which works out at £22.50 a month I think. I didn't think there was any reason to rock the boat by changing to one pack.
    So £11.25 a month, for 12 months.

Then it's frozen at that price for 12 months and I will get the updated (£25) package from 1st Sept.

I'm not at all certain how they are going to deal with people trying to get discounts when they are already frozen.

I've got the Kids, Documentaries and Variety selections at the moment, which costs me £23.50 a month. I also have Sky Talk and Sky Broadband (making it about £40 a month).

As far as I can see, all that is going to happen is that I am going to have to pay £2 extra per month from September 2012, and the price of the TV packages stays at £23.50 until then.

    Have I got this right?

If not and it's really going to jump in price, I might opt to keep the Sky+ box for £10 a month, get Freeview and find a cheaper broadband and phone package - eg BT who keep sending offers. (Not talktalk, heard too much about them on here!)
