I always have to buy mine new school uniform come September, I don't think that I've ever had a time where they havn't gone up a size and needed more or less everything!

I always replace polo shirts each term, as they get tatty quickly, jumpers last the full school year, and normally DD's trousers, but DS has his trousers replaced every 3-4 months as he's a terror on his knees! Same with shoes!

I'm hoping now that DD is 14, she'll stay in the same size trousers and blazer for some time, so Im hoping just to have to replace shoes as and when, and shirts!

I buy school uniform as it needs replacing. These holidays I have to buy a new tie for oldest [different design] and shoes for my daughter. They have everything else at the moment.

I've spent nearly £200 on kit for my 9yr old DD and 7yr old DS. Both needed new shoes, DS needed new trainers. DD needed all new uniform because she's grown so much. Socks, pants, tights, skirts, trousers, polo shirts and a cardigan. DS has had socks and trousers. He will have to have the same polo shirts and jumpers because he'll be leaving his infant school next September. We won't be replacing it and he and DD have been in it since 2006 :). We've bought 4 new tshirts and 3 new sweatshirts in that time and the rest were all second hand.
Can't believe that it cost me £40 for DD's school shoes though :( and I'm sure they won't be comfortable but the girl in the shop had the same ones on and swears they are really comfy. I have the same brand for work (bootleg) and they are the most god awful shoes I've ever had the misfortune of putting on my feet :(
Good point about the plantar fasciitis made earlier. I keep saying this to DD when we argue about her shoes.
