I've not got my books with me at the moment, but am sure you can set a target at the weight you are now according to my Consultant who has a large notice by the scales saying "If you want to set a target, it has to be done at the scales - why not set a target, it can be at the weight you are now!" Not sure why you would want to do that, unless it's to save money.
I definately set mine at 6lbs below what I am now and the computer said yes!
When I read the Blue Book (came in the welcome pack) while at Tuesday's WI I thought it said you had to be so much below your target to re-set (I thought 7lbs) or what would be stopping you re-setting every other week and so never paying?
I've just looked on the website and that is no help at all.
I will study the book tonight.
You have to have more than 7lbs to lose before you can join SW
Yes you can set your target at any weight as long as it does not take you into the underweight BMI range - it does not need to be a particular amount lower than where you are at the moment unless the above rule applies.
Once at target if you want to reset your target it has to be at least 7lbs below your original target weight.
Hope that helps0 -
Hi all
Just popping along to say 'bye'. I've lose a pound this week - yippee! - but have stopped following slimming world strictly and am now doing more of a calorie counting thing. I'm getting on really well with it and of course keeping to SW principles probably helps! I'm on myfitness pal.com now, which is a brilliant website for both diet and fitness support. It really helps me to get motivated to exercise and see the value it has for my health/weight/fitness etc.
Good luck with your journeys everyone!

Thanks Circes, that about sums up what the book says. the book being "Choose Success" that you get when you join, page 24/25.
Blackberry - your group must be very focussed! There are hardly any target members in my group. I don't think any of my lot have caught onto the fact that you can set an interim target and then revise it later. I told a couple of people last week that I had set a target only 6lbs lower than I am now as an interim measure to encourage me and also hopefully to save money. Next week they are going to do the same, so I could have started something.
Maybe consultants don't make this known because of the money thing - as you say, they will lose out.0 -
Gutted.com !! I gained half a pound last night at WI and I have no idea why. I have stuck to the plan rigidly. I had lost 11.5 lb in three weeks previously and really wanted to lose 2.5 lbs to get my stone sticker.
Feeling very de-motivated today. I've a lot to lose and I haven't eaten one thing that is not on plan.0 -

ahh i feel for you....same thing happened my mum last week at group...she was sooooo good....we basically eat and exercise the same amount...i had 2lb off....and she had 2 off...she was gutted cause she had been so good..and just could not put her finger on what went wrong...whereas anyone else with a gain had been saying "i deserved that...i had KFC twice..or pizza..." or whatever..
whereas mum had nowt that could justify a 2lb gain...tho she has battled on this week, kept up the exercising, and is praying for a loss this week,
if it happens once....you could pass it off to "maybe something is happening inside my body".....but to gain 2 weeks running when u have been so good would be so hard to take.
good luck with the week ahead, hang on in there x0 -
Hi, first WI on wed and I lost 1/2lb.
Not great but I really shouldn't complain. I joined the week before on a whim (seen an advert as I was in the shop getting something for tea and just went along). Anyway, this ment that I had a house full of very naughty food. Also my DH didn't help sticking temptation right under my nose.
This week I made my DH join with me!!! He could do with losing a lb or 2 anyway. This means that he will no longer be tempting me. Yesterday was a complete disaster though. Everything was going great and I hadn't used any syns. I was home preparing tea when DH came rushing in, his elderly granny is poorly and we needed to do a quick dart to the hospital. Tea (partially cooked) was turned off and left on the stove and everyone bundled into the car. We ended up with a McD's for tea as the kids were ready to eat a scabby horse. Does anyone know how I can work out the syns for a Chicken Legend Meal (me) and a Big Mac Meal (DH)???? I am planning on trying to claw back them syns used on that meal through the week. Not sure if that is allowed but I don't want a bad day to ruin the week, especially when I feel so determined. Granny is still poorly but hopefully should be out of hospital by the end of next week.
Sorry for the long ramble, hope everyone else is doing well xxxJust little old me!0 -

Look what I found when I went to WI last night !!!!
:j:j
:D
2.5lb off for me this week - I was chuffed to little bits with that
I am definately keeping up with my 'notebook' experiment and writing EVERYTHING down that goes in my mouth from now on, even just for the fact that it seems to prompt me to eat more fruit as snacks than anything else so I'm getting the sf levels increased
Hope everyone is well, I'm off to catch up on all the posts I've missed while i've been away with the dogs this week x x0
