Thank you Piglet for looking up my chocolate. I reckon it was 12.5 syns.
It must have been a flexi day yesterday as I lost 1.5 tonight:D:D
I need to make a new list for 2014
think of something to put on it!:rotfl:
Try harder for 2014 as I never managed it in 2012 or 20130 -
Measuring the milk yes, not had any butter so far but will be weighing that.
If Special K is not a healthy extra then what is the alternative to the special k sustain that it says in the book, as i dont think that exists anymore?? I like to have a cereal for breakfast, I tried weetabix and I tried porridge and both made me gag so please nothing like that :yuk: I did also have an apple after I'd driven to work so I dont know if that would count as part of breakfast?? I didnt know that about needing superfree for a 3rd of each meal, must have missed that
Also if someone who has access to the calculator could find me the syns for the juice i would be very grateful as its something i will not compromise on.
I suppose I can only improve then
Thankyou xxxx
You're really not doing too badly at all for 'going it alone' lizzie. I don't have the syns for juice to hand but I know when I looked they were quite high. When I started SW I immediately substituted my breakfast juice for a glass of NAS squash (I have Ribena Light) as I thought juice was wasted syns. On the days I have cereal for breakfast I have Puffed Wheat with a sliced banana or berries on top. They don't have much taste in themselves but you can have a huge bowlful as they are really light and add sweetener if you need to. Other 'cereal' days I have porage. It may not suit you due to time constraints in the morning but I only have cereal 1/2 times a week. The rest of the time I have toast/eggs/baked beans/mushrooms/tomatoes etc so I don't get bored and I don't use all my HEB at breakfast.
The apple would count towards your SFs. If I have something like beans on toast for breakfast I will have a satsuma mid-morning to make up the SF. While the 'official' way is 1/3 SFs wth every meal, I don't think it's a major problem if you balance it through the day. So if you had loads (more than 1/3) of cauli, carrots etc for dinner then it probably makes up for the lack at breakfast. Good Luck and keep asking!!I think I have picked the worst time of year to buy a diary!
All I want is a diary that will last me from now until the end of 2012 but most mid year diaries finish in July next year ....
Out of interest - how do you keep track/plan meals and what do you use ? diary / notebook / scrap of paper ?
I have an academic diary and although the proper pages only go to August there are other pages beyond that by which time you'll have a new diary to transfer notes to anyway.
Personally I write a meal plan in the corner of my shopping list and then cut it out (after shopping) and stick up in the kitchen. This is only for dinners as I always make sure I have in a stock of ingredients suitable for SW friendly lunches and breakfasts. If I'm not doing well (or when I was just starting SW almost a year ago and getting used to it) I write everything down as a food diary. I just pencil in columns in a notebook but you can get proper sheets from your group (although I don't find them very well planned). I find if I put free, SF, HEA, HEB, syns across the top and meals down the side then any thin/empty bits (usually SFs) show up and I can adjust through the day accordingly. If you really can't get on track then give the food diary to your consultant for advice. Alternatively post it on here and you'll get loads of ideas!:rotfl:0 -
Hi Skinny's, havent been on for yonks again, and haven't read anything either, life just seems to be one big rush lately!
I had to log in to tell u all, I forgot to WI last week, so today I did after not weighing myself for 2 weeks, expecting about a 1lb gain after trying to maintain, and lost another 4lb!!
I have no idea why or how this is, and I really didn't want to lose anymore, I am now 10st 2, and only ever wanted to be 10st 8. I know, its mad complaining ive lost too much, but im starting to look old and my boobs are practically non existent, so this week I am going to have a treat each day, I won't go mad as I am in a proper eating routine now and I don't want to spoil it.
Hope you all getting on good, how do all you maintainers, maintain??? xx0 -
I lost 3 lb last week adn another 1lb this morning.
Going away this weekend so I know I'll gain nw, I do not go on holiday to watch calories religiously - but maybe the hours of dancing will even things out. We shall see....0 -
Last night I gained a pound at weigh in, so I decided, for an incentive to set a target weight. I set it for 6lbs less than I weigh now. (Although I want to lose another 2 stones.)
I have a question - if I get within 3lbs of my target weight I don't have to pay - right? But as you pay first at class before weighing - how does that work? Is it the following week that you don't pay?
I see that you can change your target weight again when you get to 4lbs or more below it, so that is my intention.
Has anyone tried this as a method of a) an incentive to lose weight and/or b) to maybe save some money on the SW weekly fee?0 -
Hi All, I'm finally back from my hols (6 wks
) Had my first visit back to club this morning, and as expected, had a gain
. However, onwards and upwards, I bit the bullet & went back. So I'm now focused again and the added weight WILL go.
Off now to read this new thread.0 -

Hi Lucy, I think you are almost but not quite correct! Consultant may be along later to clarify, but in my experience:
1. you cannot set a target of under 7lb to lose
2. once you reach your target, you do not have to pay to attend (though you obviously will pay that week to go and get weighed!) as long as you stay within 3 lbs of that target weight, that is you have a bit of up-and-down leeway. If you do increase or lose more than 3 lbs from that target you will pay the following week and pay until you are back at your target.
3. I don't think you have to be 4 lb below your target to re-set it. I think I was on mine when I re-set it - I've never been below it!
but yes, setting an interim target and then having a little "rest" is, for some of us, a good incentive as well as a money-saving issue. However, in my own case, I settled at a target last January and gave myself a nice rest then decided around June to take another half-stone off. Will it come off? Will it **ery. I guess I'm just a great maintainer :rotfl:. So take heed from my experience:jThat's 2 stone 9 lbs gone forever:j
thank you Slimming World!
