Both bananas and grapes are said to slow weightloss if eaten "to excess", I don't know if they have more sugar or if it's because they are so easy to eat compared with, say, an orange! I did know one lady who was a travelling hairdresser and ate a banana between each customer rather than having a proper Park-nik (that's a picnic while you are parked in your car) and she was gaining rather than losing, bless her!

re food from shops I find if I head to the fish aisle and pick up either a pack of mixed seafood or some giant prawns, then to the take-away snacks aisle and get a packet of fresh pineapple or mango or melon, perhaps a bag of baked crisps or Sunbites, and a bottle of water, that's a nice nosh in the car. Alternatively there's usually ready cooked chicken thighs but you do have to be strong and pull off the skin, and there are always rumous that those rotisserie chickens are injected with oil to make them [STRIKE]slimy [/STRIKE]tasty.

I hope you feel sorry for me, it's a tasting day at ours tomorrow and I decided to take two quiches, one vegetarian (just cheese & onion & eggs) and one not (spring onion, mushroom, smoked salmon and eggs) but the shop only had CATERING size aluminium trays to bake them in, I have no provisions left for the rest of the week!!!! I shall have to take a slice of the quiche in for lunch tomorrow, or starve

    i do have 2 / 3 bananas a day and prob 20 grapes!
  • My plan for today:

    1/2 an A for milk (a)
    Coffee(a)
    21g all bran(1/2B), yoghurt(1/2), nana
    1 Roll(B), 21g cheese(1/2A), pickle(1/2), alpen light(1/2B), 2 satsumas
Mug lentil soup, weetabix oaty bar(3.5)
Quorn chilli, rice, wedges maybe, cheese(A)
    Strawberries, meringue(5)

Thats both A+B and 9.5 syns accounted for:D

But looking at your losses it hasnt slowed you down. It is quite individual but it is something to be aware of, maybe if you plateau it is something you could reduce.

  • Measuring the milk yes, not had any butter so far but will be weighing that.
If Special K is not a healthy extra then what is the alternative to the special k sustain that it says in the book, as i dont think that exists anymore?? I like to have a cereal for breakfast, I tried weetabix and I tried porridge and both made me gag so please nothing like that :yuk: I did also have an apple after I'd driven to work so I dont know if that would count as part of breakfast?? I didnt know that about needing superfree for a 3rd of each meal, must have missed that :(
Also if someone who has access to the calculator could find me the syns for the juice i would be very grateful as its something i will not compromise on.

I suppose I can only improve then :)

    Thankyou xxxx

I think I have picked the worst time of year to buy a diary!

All I want is a diary that will last me from now until the end of 2012 but most mid year diaries finish in July next year ....

Its part of my plan to get back on track - something I can plan meals in /record meals and something to record any exercise that I do (hopefully lots:D)

Out of interest - how do you keep track/plan meals and what do you use ? diary / notebook / scrap of paper ?

As Guns said, if it's not affecting your weight loss I wouldn't worry about it ;)

Off to WI in half an hour. I don't hold out much hope. I just had a quick online search and the group in the next town doesn't seem to have started yet so I think I'll book a couple of weeks' holiday and hope the new group (on a different night, cos I am busy on Tuesdays after this week) has begun by then. There are some groups near work that I could go to right after work, but my work clothes weigh a lot cos my colleague has the window open all day and I feel the cold! And I definitely wouldn't stay to class if I hadn't been home first, I love home and I have to touch base (almost literally) before I go out again :rotfl:
    :jThat's 2 stone 9 lbs gone forever:j

    thank you Slimming World!
  • hello I'm back from WI 2 lb off and I wore heavier clothes (of course I weighed them and compared with what I've worn for the past few weeks) which were half a pound heavier so really 2.5 lb off!

There was some gorgeous food at the tasting: countrystyle pate, chilli, some Lizzie sausages that are very low in syns and available from Morrisons, a lentil and rice dish, cauliflower curry, my own quiches, squash soup - it was all fab, I'm stuffed!

Is this the one you got?

Tesco Tikka Chunky Chicken Pieces, Ready to Eat, chilled 140g pack Original ½ Syn Green 9½ Syns

Thanks :) What I have is very similar, but from asda. The closest I found was tandori style chicken pieces in the food directory, 1 syn for 100g. I only had 50g of it today so I'm going to count it as half a syn I think (for EE) thanks for your help :)

Yeh it'll all be academic diaries now the new school year's starting. I just use a small a5 notebook, write the day at the top and draw a column down the right edge of each page to tot up healthy extras and syns.

    Had an EE day today:
Brekkie: Boiled egg, 1 slice wholewheat bread (HEB) and a smidge of flora light and ketchup (1 syn)
strawberries, blueberries and apple with total 0% yoghurt
Lunch: couscous with various spices, 21g feta (1/2 HEA), roasted butternut squash, red and yellow peppers, onion, chickpeas, tbsp toasted pine nuts (5 syns), tikka chicken pieces (50g, 1/2 syn)
Snack: cup of tea (1/4 HEA), mugshot (free)
dinner: pasta, chicken, tomatoes, onions, garlic, spinach, red peppers, 14g extra light philly (1 syn) 7g parmesan (1/4 HEA)
Dessert: 30g toffee butterkist popcorn (6 syns)

total syns = 13.5 (not bad, but not good)

Bit cheeky splitting my HEA but I usually allow 2-3 cups of tea for half a HEA but I only had one today...
