Heading for winter with Slimming World

Hi guys
I've been lurking for a couple of weeks and as I've talked a few girls from work into joining a group with me next week I thought I'd say hiHave got a lot to lose, having got married this year and then relaxing big time :rotfl: I did SW briefly last year but my heart wasn't in it, so I know the basics. Really want to stick this time!

Dizzy, well done! I always want to click the "thanks" button half a dozen times for you!Lucy_Lastic wrote: »Thanks Circes, that about sums up what the book says. the book being "Choose Success" that you get when you join, page 24/25.
Blackberry - your group must be very focussed! There are hardly any target members in my group. I don't think any of my lot have caught onto the fact that you can set an interim target and then revise it later. I told a couple of people last week that I had set a target only 6lbs lower than I am now as an interim measure to encourage me and also hopefully to save money. Next week they are going to do the same, so I could have started something.
Maybe consultants don't make this known because of the money thing - as you say, they will lose out.
Lucy, I don't know about focussed but we do all seem to have a good time there, which does make a difference I think. In fact, I shan't be going to that group any more as it's inconvenient as I've signed up for an evening class on the same night, but I shall miss them! I'll go on another night/another town. Yes, as you say, the consultants have to be businesswomen as well! I used to notice our consultant say, when someone was nearly at target: "Do you want to set a new target?" and of course if they said yes it meant it wasn't free for them :rotfl: I made a mental note to myself not to fall for that ... but I did the first time I was near (interim) target. The next time I stuck with it, and took a "break" for six months. Now, as I said, I'm paying again with a fresh target and it won't blummin go off.:mad::mad::jThat's 2 stone 9 lbs gone forever:j
thank you Slimming World!

You'll stick to it if you really want to, Senora - all I would say is, if your mates from work give up it doesn't mean you have to! Good luck:jThat's 2 stone 9 lbs gone forever:j

I have been away since Wednesday so intend to catch up on all the posts and get back on track. This means meal planning and watching my syns.
I'm sad that my hols are almost at an end and that I have to go back to work on Monday but I shall be glad to get back into a routine and concentrate on shifting some pounds before xmas. I certainly got a reminder that the weight is creeping back on when I went to wear a skirt this week that fitted perfectly when I was in my SW heyday :j It doesn't anymore
I was full of good intentions as my holiday approached - I knew that the two night stay in a hotel would be difficult (hotel breakfast/meals out) but thought that if I stuck to the plan either side of these times then all would be well.
Sadly my mission to be good didn't go to plan. I don't know why when I have 100% control over my meal choices why I make such poor decisions. For example lunch today (on the way back from holiday destination) was a cream tea - I could have had a Jacket potato and beans?
Dinner (at home!!!) was a breaded chicken piece, steak cut chips, garlic bread and onion rings and a VERY large vodka and diet sprite. Why couldn't I have had SW chips, eggs and a HEB of ham ? and a measured vodka....
In my bid to get back on track I did stop off at the supermarket on the way home and buy grapes, nectarines, kiwis and oranges so plenty of chopping of fruit on Sunday ready for the week ahead.
I am more than frustrated at the way things are going and annoyed with myself that when I have control over what I eat, I make the wrong choice. I suppose it boils down to the fact that I got to target and got complacent. I need to make changes now. The odd naughty meal has become an everyday thing and this can no longer continue.
I'm meeting a friend tomorrow so lunch out /(will try to pick sensibly) but have taken a home made (almost slimming world friendly) chilli for tea which I shall have with either jackets or sw chips.
Then plan to meal plan on sunday. will update you with what I decide on.0 -
oh I must tell you as this is a money-saving site too ... I nipped down to my local Co-op for a couple of bits, nothing much as it's very pricey and you do have to watch that any bogofs etc are discounted etc. Anyway someone had mentioned that they did sometimes have some good meat whoopsies late on. Woooo the excitement, I spotted brisket of beef reduced. There were three lumps of brisket, all reduced to the same weird price of £8.09p. Two had been £9+. One had been "reduced" to £8.09p from £7.91p. I just stood there holding it and laughing, and wishing I had a camera with me.:jThat's 2 stone 9 lbs gone forever:j

Hi everyone
.
I have decided to give slimming world another try after many years of trying. 8 years ago I lost 3 stone with SW and when I tried to go back on it 4 years ago I lost nothing.
Ended up trying a calorie control diet , atkins, and recently celebrity slim. With some small loss but not much.
So I mention it to the doctor and he tells me my blood tests show I am borderline thyroid, but not enough to warrant treatment.
With this knowledge I have started doing zumba everday of the week
(for the past 3 weeks) and yesturday re started Slimming world on the EE plan. I have ordered my books today and cant wait for them to arrive, and have just been to sainsburys.I need to know the syn value for the following ....
sainsburys be good to yourself 8 extra lean cumberland sausages.
flora cuisine for healthy heart - cooking oil
And some cheesecake muller lights (which I think are 1/2 a syn) can some confirm pls ?
look forward to reading all your posts:D
