can you rescue and freeze any of the fruit and veg so its not wasted? if you have any, berries freeze well, i used to buy berries frozen to just chuck in yogurt when i wanted to so i didn't buy fresh and end up wasting half.
I hear you Evilsquid and most of the rubbish is gone but I have two teenagers in the house who always complain that there is nothing to eat!
I don't have a problem with the planning and shopping, I think I just got totally fed up with peeling and chopping vegetables!
I've also been working really long hours and prefer to cook fresh but that means by the time I get to the kitchen I'm exhausted and just can't be bothered standing and preparing. I work from home so I really have no excuse as I could easily prepare the veg in the morning and just have to throw it all together in the evening. I have all the answers I just can't follow through!
I'm going away early tomorrow morning and we'll be doing quite a bit of hiking and eating salads mainly so hopefully I'll be able to get myself back in gear when I come back.Mediterranean Mum
hoping to lose 50lb by February 2013! 2st lost so far :j0 -
I love my group night too (but only if I lose, hate it and want to just go home and cry if I gain!) and always stay to image therapy which I find really useful now I'm getting to know people a bit more. I wasn't too impressed when I first started but I think I must have picked a couple of weeks when the consultant wasn't at her best.
Medmum, you know you can do it. You are just tired and probably at a bit of a low ebb. Don't let it get the better of you.
I think that while SW is a great way to eat healthily there is a huge amount of cooking from scratch and it's less forgiving of ready meals than some other plans which are built aroung them. I also get fed up of peeling and chopping and wish I could get something out of the freezer after a longday at work. But I'm now starting to build up a stock of batch cooked meals in the freezer, so it's starting to get easier. The most time consuming part I find is in the morning when I do my box of fruit to graze on all day (I swear this is my salvation!) and spend a good 15-20 mins on preparation. DH has taken over feeding the animals bless him so that I have time as he knows how important it is to me!
ETA Piglet, I'm in SW England so probably a different supply chain, but your instructions to try next week give me hope so I'll just keep ringing to check whether it's back. Till then it's just slogging on without it.Oh dear, here we go again.0 -

And i am helped in my journey by the fact that one of my target member mates lost 2.5 stones and was NEVER sotw or sotm! It reinforces the fact that I am doing this for me!
That was me too! I averaged about 1 - 1.5 lbs a week and lost 3.5 stones. I've been at target since August and have had more problems dropping below target than putting it on! I still go to group but more like fortnightly. I have to say it's more about catching up with friends but I am often asked for advice. I know for a fact that if I ever started gaining again I'd be back every week until I had it under control. I just love being slim again!:j
I rather lost track of Biggest Loser. It seemed to disappear last week and I wondered if I'd missed the end somehow. Is it still on? I worked out I lost about 26%. I often used to think that if they focused a bit more on the food side they'd have lost even more. I got to my target almost completely by food optimising and no exercise to speak of (:o) so just imagine their programme and SW!!
I think you're doing well to analyse your triggers mm. perhaps some batchcooking of things to graze/easy meals? I know you plan some great SW recipes and they're fine when you have the time and energy but it's always good to have HM ready-meals to fall back on. I always try to have curry, chilli and bolognese sauces in the freezer and also fish is easy and quick. Have a great time at the weekend and happy 50th to Mr mm.0 -

i used to buy bags of frozen ready prepared veg. initially, it looks dearer than buying say a bag of fresh peppers for one or two meals but it meant that if i only wanted a small handful in a stir fry or pasta sauce, i could add exactly what i wanted, nothing got wasted or thrown away and one bag went much further price wise because i had it in so many meals i would have spent a small fortune on a fresh whole pepper each time.
i also used to get a bag of fresh leeks, have a big chopping session when i needed to beat something up and then freeze the chopped up leek and do the same as the peppers. it all went so much further and when i got in from uni or work i could make a proper fresh meal from scratch with the only effort being opening the freezer. i used to drive my flatmate mad with all my random chopped veggies in there :rotfl:0 -
Batch chopping - yes I like that idea.
I thought that working from home was going to make things easier but sometimes it's actually harder. When I had my office I used to take in all my things ready prepared and would put them in my little fridge by my desk and heat them up in the microwave - it was so easy. Now I'm just bloody lazy!
I've had a better day today and hopefully it'll continue. I'm going to make a big pan of soup later (with some of those limp veggies!) and tomorrow morning I'll make up a couple of flasks for DH and I to take with us on our road trip. I'm going to chop up the fruit and put it in a container with an Activia. We'll be on the road for about 5 or 6 hours with a couple of stops along the way to get out and walk and sightsee.Mediterranean Mum

Just done my calcs and I too have lost 26% of my bodyweight since my heaviest! Quite amazing really. Makes me feel less bad diddling around with these couple of pounds as at least I'm not zooming back up the scales. I do seem to have dropped a bit now but I'm not posting properly until I'm 10st 7; that will truly have moved away from teh 10.10 - 10.12 game.0

I think the % weight loss thing is a really good calculation - I'm off to make up a pie chart on a spreadsheet that alters every week when I update it and I'm gonna print it out and stick it to my cupboard door along with my SW certificates (sad but true):oMortgage Aug 22 £280,000

18% for me
Was 22.5%
BMI has gone from 34.71 (obese ) to 28.4 (merely overweight :rotfl:).
Was 26.95.
Still, going down again, but I won't be losing the 22lbs needed to get to 'normal' - imho that would be far too thin for me.
A positive attitude may not solve all your problems, but it will annoy enough people to make it worth the effortMortgage Balance = £0
