Can she excercise? I think short sharp bursts are the best, something that gets you really breathless even if just for 10 minutes. Do that every day and it speeds up the metabolism.
Apart from that I would say plenty of fibre, has she tried eating 5 scan bran a day & drinking loads of water with them.
thanks, yes she comes walking with me every day and does 2 gym sessions per week.
she usually uses her HE for a wholemeal sandwich, and would only use scan bran for cooking.
i just wish she could get past this 5 stone hurdle, and get another wee kick start.0 -

Maybe it's a regional problem (although if you google it it seems to be national) or maybe you were just lucky that your pharmacy still had some stocks. Hope it comes back soon.
i am in N.Ireland, i check the bag i got from the pharmacy and there is a 4 week supply, and an "owe" note for the other 4 weeks, i am to call on Friday for the rest, HTH0 -

I even feel lethargic and my ankles are swollen and I know it's because I've been putting the wrong food in my mouth and not drinking enough water. It seems to happen to me every time I have a loss I go and jeopardize it and then I end up back at square one!
I spent a lot of time last week planning then buying a ton of fruit and veg - it's still sitting in the fridge and a lot of it will have to be tossed! We're going away tomorrow until Sunday to celebrate hubby's 50th and I was looking forward to going walking and running around feeling lighter - now I just feel disgusting.
I start every morning aiming to be good - have my SW breakfast but then by about mid-morning I'm grazing - the fruit and yoghurt just doesn't appeal to me and nothing else good does either.
Sorry, just having a moan and I know I've only got myself to blame and need to pull myself together. I just wish I could lose steadily for a few weeks instead of having one loss a month!
could you make sure you don't buy any unhealthy snacks? i find if its in the house i want it so if i don't buy it in the first place i have to look round for an alternative if i really am hungry. i go shopping just after a massive meal so i would happily turn down anything offered to me anyway and avoid all the chocolate aisles like the plague.
can you rescue and freeze any of the fruit and veg so its not wasted? if you have any, berries freeze well, i used to buy berries frozen to just chuck in yogurt when i wanted to so i didn't buy fresh and end up wasting half.0 -

Thanks - it has taken some time - I joined in July 2010, but i always knew I was in for the long haul! I now sit between 2 Target members so I get a lot of help and know-how, especially from the one who has been at target for at least 18 months!
And i am helped in my journey by the fact that one of my target member mates lost 2.5 stones and was NEVER sotw or sotm! It reinforces the fact that I am doing this for me!:jFlylady and proud of it:j0 -

congrats :A
well done you:j
the scary thing about our group is the complete lack of target members.
there was 1 there this week, there has been a few others, but they have lapsed altogether, or have gone off the rails and are now 1.5 / 2 stone out of target.
a lady got her target cert 5 weeks ago and has not come back since:eek:
this is what enforces my belief that i will be there for EVER0 -
well I'll be there with you!
Having been 17 stone 9.5lbs at 5'4" and miserable I will do anything to avoid going back.
Besides.... I quite like going to group....:jFlylady and proud of it:j0 -
I actually enjoy going to group as well - it's an hour where I am shut off from the wrld with no bl00dy phones ringing or kids screaming. I have enjoyed making new friends as well though it was a bit daunting going in the first week and not knowing anyone I feel quite at home now.
Cyclingyorkie & Piglet (and Piglet's Mam), you do realise that you have lost more weight than the majority of the contestants on the Biggest Loser..... I am in awe! xxMortgage Aug 22 £280,000

Hi there everyone, I am another returning slimmer who fell by the wayside
I was a member of SW about 2 years ago and had lost 7 stone! I have ended up putting nearly 3 back on....... SO, I am back with a new attitude and I am determined to lose the unwanted weight. I haven't joined a club this time as I can't get a babysitter. But, I know the plan (well, the RED plan anyway, it worked before), I just need the support. I found great support in a MSE SW thread last time, seeing how well everyone else was doing really spurred me on and gave me the determination when I was having a low day.
Now, the moment of shame. My weight is... (deep breath lol) 15.1

Another week done! Pleased with my loss as not an easy week. DD s birthday, lots of cake about. Yesterday turned into a very boozy day as DS1 had his 21st birthday celebration. A lovely day out at a sporting event is all I shall say. My five lovely children all have their birthdays in the next 4 months an expensive time in our house.
Am really getting into this way of eating, but will have to be extra careful for the rest of the week due to yesterdays excesses.
Am going for my first half a stone next week, only half a pound to go. I so want that award! Have a meal out Thurs evening, but I will be driving so only the food to worry about. I know where I am going so will have a look online and check out their menu. Good luck for the next week fellow slimmers xxTotal weight lost 6.5/73lbs starting yet again. Afds August 10/15. /8 Sept.0 -
