Evening all, just wanted to report a little NSV that I had today. I walked my son to school and on the way back went into Tesco Express to get some veg for tea, was doing cottage pie with parsnip and carrot mask topping. So I bought a 2kg bag of spuds, a 2kg bag of carrots, and 2 500g bags of parsnips, so 5kg in all. On the way home I started thinking 'Ooh this is heavy, I wonder how much of this bag of veg I've lost weight wise'. At a guess I was thinking that the bag was double the amount that I had lost as it felt soo heavy. Anyway I got back home and used a converter app to work out that 5kg is 11lbs, and I have lost 13lbs!!!!! I was pretty shocked to realise that the amount I have lost so far was more than that heavy bag of veg!!!! The only downside that I was thinking was that I thought I would feel a more noticeable different after feeling how much that bag weighed, but I'm not gonna let that put me off, I look forward to weighing out my losses to feel how heavy they are.

Managed to stay on plan so far this week, so hoping for a good loss and hopefully hit my 1 stone mark on Monday.

Me too - our leader handed round a bag that weighed a stone - and I've lost 5 of them - how did I ever get up the stairs or on my bike lugging that lot around?

Hope, if you're having a celebration, Big O was a success! At least it's over. Enjoy your meal.

We haven't had the 'official' report through yet but yes was a 'good' result thanks.

WI this morning and wasn't hopeful after last nights calorie laden meal [fish, chips, mushy peas, tartare sauce & chocolate torte with some sort of sorbet/frozen yogurt, couldn't tell :o] Wasn't much choice although small portions.
So am happy with a .8lb loss. Now need to be mindful it could go on next week as * week due then.

Oh well time for work, have a good day all :A
Its not what you do but the way that you do it, thats what get results :T

  • I went to a private group once and the consultant did a regular exercise where she made people carry 5kg bags up the stairs so that they could appreciate how far they'd come. When you look at a 5kg bag of potatoes (or anything for that matter) it really makes you think and it's quite disgusting!

Ergh. So it seems I haven't quite broken out of my 2lb off, 2lb on. Weighed this morning and am back to 10st 11 from 10st 9. Really annoying; I did go out for champagne last night but I've done lots of exercise this week. bah.

Just back from my dinner out steak and salad without dressing, not so bad. But I managed to eat half my fries, and 2/3 of a chocolate mousse. Lets hope my 40 syns covers it.
