  • Hi all, popping in after a couple of weeks' absence, including birthday blowout! Didn't do too badly, I was mostly on-plan apart from two days when we went out to lunch but neither evening did we need any dinner! Small gain for birthday week but this week's weigh in brings me below 12 stone! :j

Piglet you're a real inspiration! I'm so glad I have this thread to pick me up when I'm feeling like over-indulging in naughty things.

Evilsquid, sorry that SW are missing out on you as a consultant! It's their loss - you're helping lots of people on here though (it's just a shame you're not getting paid for it ;))

For everyone who's struggling, be patient with yourselves. You've not got to the stage you are overnight, it'll take a little while to get it all off. And for those who've lost WELL DONE YOU!! Give yourselves a hug!

I treated myself to something having reached 11 stone something, guess what it was... a car wash! I'm actually a bit frightened of them but the poor car was in such a state I knew it had to be done. I now have a shiny car and no syns involved

i did have 3 slow weeks in Jan, were even though i had been MEGA good, i only lost 0.5lb, then another 0.5lb, and then despite going home and giving myself a good talking to, and saying it will shift next week.....i had a STS the next week:mad:, but in the 4 weeks that followed i have lost 10.5lbs,:D (see my sig at the bottom)....i just dont know how it all kickstarted again other than i did a few days on the SW Success Express plan and i start doing exercises with the weight bands (resistance bands) so i think one or both of them seems to have kick started it all again, much to my delight, i do exepct it to slow down again as i near target, but hopefully the next 16lbs wont be too hard to shift.

This is exactly what has happened to me this week. Only lost half a pound and I've been super good this week as I STS last week (although that was a miracle as I had 2 major blow out days when I had my driving test, I failed but I'd planned flexible syns for that weekend even if I had passed hehe).

On an average week I start the day with a synned portion of frosties for breakfast and generally have between 10 and 14 syns a day. I also rarely have my 1/3 super free on EE which I know isn't good but I've still been losing 1-1.5 lbs a week.
I made a real effort this week to eat 1/3+ super free each day and haven't gone over 5 syns apart from on saturday so losing half a pound is slightly frustrating I feel like going back to having a nice breakfast again lol.
What's SW success express? Your weight loss is amazing btw, if I ever need inspiring I will look at your sig :T

I was watching Dawn French on telly the other day who has lost about 8 stones in well under a year and she reckons she's just eating less and walking her dog. Yeah right! :rotfl::rotfl:

Yes, it reminds me when Fern Britton lost all her weight through cycling and healthy eating! (oh and eating Ryvita minis).:rotfl:
  • i seem to remember Anne Diamond being thrown off Celebrity Fatclub ( or whtever it was called) when she admitted to a gastric band!

I didn't make it to weigh-in last night due to a horrendous cold - I didn't think they'd appreciate me sneezing everywhere!

I still feel rough (and my nose is sore) but I did go swimming with school - trust me not to feel well on the day the pool temp is down by 2 degrees! Brrrrr!

I came home and had a hot bath immediately - and I fell asleep in it! Definitely an early night tonight!

  • Hi,
I've been reading these threads for a while and thought I'd jump into the fun too. :)
I'm an American married to a Brit and living in Berkshire. I'm doing SW at home since I don't have the time, energy or money to go to class. I have about 30 lbs to lose (sorry, my brain doesn't work in stones yet. ;)) I'm doing Green Days since I'm not a huge meat eater, so much so that I used to be veggie. I'd love some online support and everyone here seems lovely.
Here's an example of what I've had today, feel free to correct me or ask me any questions.

    Breakfast
    Muller Light Strawberry Yogurt
    Granny Smith Apple

    Lunch
Chicken and Herbs Low Fat Super Noodles

    Dinner
2 Cauldron Lincolnshire Sausages (1 Syn)
Stir Fry Veggies and 3 Extra Light Laughing Cow triangles (1/2 HEA) mixed into a Beef Savoury Rice

    Snacks
Celery and pot of BGTY Hummous (HEB)
Nutella (4 Syns) on Nimble bread (HEB)
3 Extra Light Laughing Cow triangles (1/2 HEA)

  • Hi and welcome lfcgurly:) only comment I would have is you don't seem to eat very much for breakfast and lunch. I would be starving if I only had that!

  • Hi all,
Buzzing tonight, I got my 5 stone award!!
I only lost 1.5 pound but it got me what I wanted. Mega chuffed with myself.
Well done to everyone on your losses. x

Total loss = 5 stone 12.5 lbs. / But now GAINED 1 STONE 1.5 LBS!!

    46 weeks!
  • Welcome Lfcgurly,
    Liverpool all the way!!
I dont think your eating enough, what about lots of fruit and veggies, other than the stir frys?
Try to eat lots of speed foods, it really will speed up your losses.
What about your 5-15 syns a day?
Have yourself a few treats, that way your less likely to cheat over time.
Good luck and keep us informed. x

    Thanks for the welcome.
I never used to eat breakfast at all, it's only been since I started trying to follow SW that I started making myself eat anything at all in the morning. My job is very fast paced and the day flies by before I even know it so I have to be conscious of eating lunch at all or I'll just work straight through. :o
I tend to be my hungriest at night for some reason so I get home and then pig out.

Thanks and congrats on your 5 stone achievement! :)
Well, today I had an apple, stir fry veggies and celery, that's about average for me at the moment. I want to eat more, but I have a hard time fitting too much more in. I'm trying to stick them in wherever I can, maybe someone can give me some ideas.
The problem I'm running into is that by the time I have my HEs and such I'm so full I can't even think about eating any more. That's why I like to use Nutella, it's tasty deliciousness and gives me a few Syns and in my mind, I had my chocolate. Jaffa Cakes are also a standby for me because I love them and at 2 Syns a piece, they are easy to have a couple to make up the numbers. Most days I do get to about 10, today I just was so full I couldn't manage anymore.
I actually find this diet incredible because it's almost exactly the way I used to eat when I was younger, before I started eating meat again and put on the weight. So for me, it's reverting to old ways, I just now keep track of what I eat instead of just eating whatever, whenever. I do miss those days.
