  • Interesting point that Piglet - with all that weight lost in such a short time do you have loose skin? Sorry if that's too personal a question but just interested to know.

Can anyone suggest the nicest low-syn hot chocolate? I haven't drunk it for years but it just struck me that it might help with the evening nibbles.
  • I am drinking Cadbury's Options right now Sarah - 40 cals per cup which I think is 2 syns - I think that's the lowest.

Hello you lovely chatty lot. Tough week for me this week as I have lots of evening meetings withj work as well as a 2 day show - I'm totally knackered already and it's only Wednesday. Roll on Saturday night when I am finished on the trade stand and can get home.

I am trying to plan ahead a bit and while I am at home this morning have a pot of lentil soup on to boil so I can put some in a flask to take with me for tea tonight to keep away from the sandwich buffet. Yesterday was a crazy day, away from home at 8.30am running around at appointments all day then an evening meeting last night so I didn't get home til midnight. Food was the last thing on my mind and so I actually ate very little yesterday - 2 bananas, 2 pears, a mug shot & 2 alpen light bars in the car. Mind it was washed down with about 2 gallons of black coffee over the course of the day - the I wonder why I have bowel problems!

So today, mullerlight and a pear for breakfast; satsuma for snack; lunch will be homemade lentil soup (syn free), snack will be an alpen light bar; tea will be homemade lentil soup + alpen bar. I think I will be light on my superfree so I will make today a green day but take extra fruit in the car in case I am hungry. Hopefully it'll be an earlier evening tonight though and I should be home by 10.30.

On the xenical debate, my GP prescribed it for me 3 years ago but I had real problems with it though that was probably as a result of my overactive bowel problem. It did put my blood pressure up though so I came off it after a month.

I must start doing some body magic as I too would like a total loss of approx 6 stone and my 38 year ols skin wont bounce back easily. At the moment I do a couple of hours a week on wii fat & just dance which gets my heart rate up but I don't know if it will be helping my skin elasaticity any.

If I'm having a chocolate craving I eat the powder dry with a teaspoon. 2 spoonfuls (about half the pack) is enough to kill any craving stone dead and is only 1 syn - it's very sickly though

i have everything crossed for you for ur 5 stone award for tnite!:D

do you go to a group?

how much more do you need to loose?

i have seen a chart which has my "ideal" weight range from 8.11:eek::eek: (never...no chance!!) and 11.1, so my own personal target is 11.12 for now, if i get any lower, well and good, if i dont, no harm done!

i did have 3 slow weeks in Jan, were even though i had been MEGA good, i only lost 0.5lb, then another 0.5lb, and then despite going home and giving myself a good talking to, and saying it will shift next week.....i had a STS the next week:mad:, but in the 4 weeks that followed i have lost 10.5lbs,:D (see my sig at the bottom)....i just dont know how it all kickstarted again other than i did a few days on the SW Success Express plan and i start doing exercises with the weight bands (resistance bands) so i think one or both of them seems to have kick started it all again, much to my delight, i do exepct it to slow down again as i near target, but hopefully the next 16lbs wont be too hard to shift.

good luck with it all, esp tnite!:A

    Hi,
Yes I do go to a class as I really could not have done it without the support of the others in the group. It's really nice when others comment on how well each other is doing and to me that feels great and it motivates me to carry on.
I started off at 17 stone 8 and a half pound at the end of May last year, first weigh in was June so I havent done so bad.
I cannot see that I would look or feel healthy at 9 stone 3 because at the moment people are commenting and saying that I really dont need to lose much more because I will look ill, and in a way I do think their right, so around 11 stone for me and whilst maintaining if I lose a bit more then I will be ok with that. I think I will let my body decide :rotfl:
Thanks for your good wishes, I will let you know how I got on :) x

Total loss = 5 stone 12.5 lbs. / But now GAINED 1 STONE 1.5 LBS!!

    46 weeks!

In theory, yes MM. However I usually just use lean mince and drain the fat off. Probably wrong but.... :o

Had a very, very good week. For some reason, I've totally clicked back into place after a few weeks of struggling with it. Good loss of 2.5 last week, hoping for similar this week. Have cut out sugar entirely and that has definitely helped :)

Lovely to see some great losses on here, well done all :j:j

lol MM - bet you don't want chocolate now though do you :rotfl:

    On the mince front:
    extra lean steak mince (5% fat) is free;
    lean mince / steak mince (12% fat) = 2.5 syns per 100g
standard beef mince (20%fat) = 6.5 syns per 100g

If I can't get extra lean mince I get the steak mince (12% fat) and drain some of the fat off. I reckon that if I have a 500g pack there will be 25g fat in the 5% stuff and 60g fat in the 12% stuff so I start to cook the mince and once the fat is starting to come out of it I drain off over 35g. I know that I am probably losing flavour but if you look at the dish that the drained fat is in after it's set you know that it's worth it.
