Mrs O - congrats on your great first week loss.

Had a bad day yesterday, not feeling well with a migrane which makes me feel sick and then I can't eat the fruit & veg. BUT somehow I managed to get through the day, I used 13 syns which is my highest ever, but still on plan.

Can I ask those who do green and EE, which you think gives you best losses, or both the same? I can't do red as lack of carbs gives me migranes.

When I first joined SW, it was red or green days. Our consultant used to say that if you did more green then red then although overall your weight loss would be the same (as both plans worked) but green days (with foods like pasta) take longer to digest and therefore if you did lots of green then the results may take a little while longer to show in the scales.

I personally think that variety is the key and therefore I would have a mixture of both green and extra easy days because if you are having a green day, you could have two Healthy Extra B Options and Two A Options so both cheese and milk and Extra Easy, well you need to add lots of superfree. Don't let yourself get bored.
  • Went to group properly for first time last night and lost 2lbs, found the whole thing quite tedious though! Going round 20-30 people asking them all exactly the same questions zzzzzzzzzzz.
Is everyone else's group the same? Think I might just weigh and go.

FWIW, I've never 'learned' Green and Red days as I only joined when EE had already been invented. So that's all I've ever done and it worked fine. I did hit a small plateau ( a bit like piglet did a few weeks ago) but I just persevered and the final half stone went eventually. I'd recommend variety too so that you don't get bored and give up. By that I mean lots of different meals not same old menu. Also a version of Success Express (upping the SFs to two thirds) seems to give a boost.

Yes, my group's exactly the same. Fortunately, get on well with lots of people I've met there so it's fairly social. As I'm at target now I can just go evey couple of weeks without paying for missed weeks. I always thing 'weigh and go' seems a waste of money but I supppose you always have the option of staying if you want to.

Its rare for me not to stay to image therapy but I do agree that it can become tedious if your tummy won't stop rumbling and for the umpteenth time, someone has had a really good week yet put on and so begins another round of whys and wherefores.

I agree with Maman, simply paying and weighing is a waste of money. although of course there would be no sw shop if you weighed in at boots and no friendly face at the scales to tell you that the scales are having a bad week and hopefully they will be feeling better and kinder to you next week :rotfl:

We have a different consultant now and although I have nothing bad to say about our previous consultant, image therapy is more fun now and light hearted. If its a gain, its not dwelled on and there is lots of positive chat and laughter meaning when you leave the room, you are feeling so much happier and ready for a fab week ahead. When I get to target, I suspect I shall still go every week because it has become part of my life now and I miss it when I can't go.

i would def.recommend Success Express, i really do think that it (and me taking up weight / resistance bands exercises help kick start my losses again):D long may they last!

i tend to do a Green day once a week, (be in a mad hurry to get home from work, fed, and out for circuit training in an hour)on this day for tea i usually have either beans and toast, or boiled eggs and toast, cause its the handiest thing i know how to count on green :o i really dont understand Green and Red so well, or dont know what else i could have to eat thats so quick and handy on the day i do green

I know where you're coming from! I do believe in commending people for their weight losses and sharing ideas etc but if it's a large group it doesn't half go on.

I am very close to returning to SW (after my hol in couple of weeks) and this is one bit of it which bothers me. I stayed on to every single meeting because I think it's important but a heck of a lot of people didn't.

I think it would be a good idea to put all the names in a hat and just pull out 6-10 for discussion on the night. Obviously if anybody has any serious worries then they'd speak to the counsellor separately wouldn't they?

Another thing that's already bothering me (before I even get back:o) is what I call "tea-time" meals. I cooked loads of SW recipes and we all ate and enjoyed them. So on a Sunday lunchtime I'd do a lovely healthy roast meal, weekday evenings not a problem ... another SW recipe but it was times like Sunday teatime that I never knew quite what to have.

I usually ended up having crispbreads with something on while the rest of the family would have some sandwiches, crisps etc. and I got sick of the sight of them.

I need to have ideas in place before I start or I'll come over all gloomy again!

on sunday mornings for breakfast i tend to just have either the pudding rice, or fruit and yoghurts, then i can have a sandwich, or toast when everyone else is having teatime,
