  • I'd be tempted to make the tarts and give them away if you think you can do it!

Otherwise I'd vote for binning ( and it would hurt the moneysaver in me too!)

Yesterday went well, despite standing (and bouncing) in a freezing swimming pool for an hour with 3 different groups of schoolkids! - Giving up stuff for Lent makes me more committed - all yesterdays syns went on healthy stuff - like Ryvita and low fat coleslaw with my lunch.... Not a freddo or anything else remotely cake/biscuit/crisp/alcoholic passed my lips......

I know it's early days but I didn't miss them either!

I've got pastry in my freezer too!! My mse side won't let me throw it out. I was thinking that I'd make a meat pie on some occasion when we had guests. That way all the filling and veg could be fairly SW friendly and the crust would at least be shared with other people.

arsenalbarnie, I find keeping syns for treats works really well and if you're not drinking either you should have treats a plenty!! It's relatively easy to have syn free meals although I do use up a few syns for some gravy, cheese sauce or things like that. Good Luck!

I'm still experimenting with tweaking to stay at target and I've skipped WI today. I've had a fairly indulgent week (mainly eating out) so I'll do my meal plan for next week later and make it very SW friendly to keep me on an even keel.

Talking mse, I often find it hard not to waste salad leaves unless I have people round to share with me. I don't mind buying tomatoes or spring onions as they're easy to use up. Last week I bought a big bag of baby spinach (about 90p in Lidl?). It was great for salads, garnishes, in sandwiches etc. Later in the week (when a bag of salad leaves would be fit for the bin) I was able to add some to a lasagne and a curry. Very useful, definitely do it again.

 med mum, I expect you're home now? Hope you're doing ok?

I'm having a green day today but I am unsure what to have for my tea ? I have had lots of SW chips this week (could manage more) but not sure. Had jackets yesterday, had pasta in sauce for a snack today - not a big pasta fan so don't want a pasta dish really and don't fancy rice?

    any ideas ??
  • Sorry for last brief post - it has been a very stressful week for one reason or another. Yes I am pleased with the weight loss-although to be honest that isn't unusual for me. Problem is I get bored after a few weeks, the self restraint wanes and then I do it half heartedly - and then get fed up because my losses slow down or become non-existant!

The one truly jaw dropping thing that has happened this week is that I realise I rely on food and alcohol very much to help with stress in mylife - of which there is plenty. Normally other people crying on my shulder, rather than my own stress but this week has been a rollercoaster with DH quest to find work. Offered a job, but turned it down as it really would have been a step back. Wasn't offered the one he wanted. Agonising few days trying to determine whether he is biting off his nose to spite his face turning the other job down, but I really don't think he is.

Anway I digress.... this week I have made a real conscious effort NOT to drink alcohol or stuff my face, which I realise now was my way of not facing up to stress and problems if that makes sense? It was a head in the sand approach. Why didn't I realise that before? I am very sensible, level headed, methodical but couldn't see what was staring me in the face (and the mirror). It has really helped me to face up to myself as I can say what I want on here as you don't know me!! I put on a front for everyone else. Starting to feel more positive.

Well done to everyone with losses this week, and best wishes for those who maintained or gained this week - better luck next week eh!

Have been out and bought a copy of SW mag today and plan to start back at group after I've been on my holiday. So about 3 weeks time.
