Heading for winter with Slimming World

Hi Everyone - I'm back home after my visit to the family in Scotland. Sorry I couldn't check in but there was no internet connection (can you imagine!) where I was staying and I felt so out of touch with the world!!
I was basically really good and stuck to plan on most days. It was difficult when we were out at other people's homes for meals but I made good choices and also during the few meals we ate in restaurants I made the best I could. The only place I possibly fell down was when we ate one evening in a vegetarian Indian restaurant and I had absolutely no idea what to choose so went for one of those meals where they give you a little bit of everything - absolutely delicious but probably a million syns!
I went to SW twice - such a big experience for me as I don't have any groups over here. The consultant was brilliant and told me that she'd be my virtual consultant and I could continue emailling her. I bought lots of books and then spent lots of time in the supermarket checking out products (how sad am I!) and brought a few items back with me.
I also met up with my friend in London who's lost a massive 5 stone since we last saw each other in September. He looks great although still has a long way to go but I'm really proud of him.
I weighed in when I got back on Thursday morning and have lost a pound while I've been away which I'm happy with.
So back to my planning this week. Did a huge shop on Friday morning and I'm back to posting my daily plans from tomorrow morning.
Hope everyone else is doing well - don't know if I can possibly catch up with all the postings while I've been away.

Morning all, what a day I had yesterday. Watched son play rugby & the numptys lifting him were useless, they dropped him & he landed awkwardly then stepped back into a hole & did his ankle in. So he insisted on going home to watch England men lose then England women WIN ( go girls) before deciding a trip to A&E was needed. 4 hours later (11pm) still none the wiser except it's not broken. So had rubbish day food wise, porridge, pasta & cheese sauce plus mars bar at rugby
. So not enough of anything really.
Its not what you do but the way that you do it, thats what get results :T

next month is going to be tough food wise, were moving out at the end of the month so were now in full on "eat our way through the contents of the kitchen so we don't have to drag it with us" mode.
i'm doing the sport relief 3 miler and I've just signed up to the great manchester run again so I'm going to be in training for those now, hoping it'll boost my weight loss0 -

CAn anyone help me please? I am currently a WW member, and have not got anywhere this last 9months even after loosing 4 stone,......thinking of joining SW, but need a cheap option. Just wondered if aynone can help me out with free membeship or trial clas,as only just paid out for last WW membership!
Thanks
Keep an eye out for the woman weekly mags - they occasionally do a slimming world recipe/menu feature usually accompanied with a voucher either for reduced online membership or free joining fee for a class.
You can get the books on ebay but lots is charged for them and what is on offer may not be the most up to date.
I think you can also download a free weekly menu from the SW site?0 -
Hi everyone - hope all's well? Welcome back MedMum, well done on the loss after your trip.
Well our night out last night was a good one; the food element was a knife & fork buffet so I had cold roast beef & turkey; plain boiled baby potatoes, lettuce, cucumber, beetroot, rice salad & a small spoonful each of coleslaw & tattie salad so i reckon that worst case scenario is that I had a couple of tablespoons of mayo on the coleslaw & tattie salad which would be max 9 syns. AND I managed to refuse the pudding and had a cup of black coffee instead! ........ Then I had 12 gin & slimline tonics :rotfl:; so there's another 30 syns - at least they were 25ml pub measures though so i knew what I was having.
i danced for 3 hours + in very high heeled shoes so that should help as well; If I manage to maintain this week and not put on I will be happy.Mortgage Aug 22 £280,000

Woo hoo, 2lb off at WI this morning! Looks like the dancing helped counteract the gin!Mortgage Aug 22 £280,000

I had some blueberries that had been in the fridge too long and had gone a bit soft and not nice to eat, but not gone over enough to bin IYSWIM. So I put them in the blender with some FF yog and a banana and had a lovely smoothie for my lunch.
But something keeps niggling at the back of my mind about having to eat fruit whole, not liquidised, and I can't find anything about it in the book. Has anyone else heard this or am I making it up? Too late now cos it's all gone, just wondering if I should be synning it. Any ideas?Oh dear, here we go again.0
