evil squid - have you asked them why you didn't get the job? They should tell you if you ask. Sorry it didnt work out.
if i do, I've a feeling i'll get ignored or fobbed off with "you aren't at target" as a stock reply even though they employ people who aren't.
DH and i missed the cinema tonight because we had a few cocktails in Hard Rock so now I've got an horrific craving for nachos and cheese. i used to work at odeon in my student days and I don't know what is in that excuse for cheese but its addictive. i started off with "oh god thats disgusting" viewpoint and after a few months of stirring it i now LOVE the stuff.0 -
Just thought I'd add my opinion too...Evilsquid, I'm so sorry that they said no to you, it does seem rather unprofessional to turn up for a meeting without even preparing, as I'm sure as hell you would have prepared your a$$ off, which is even more infuriating as I'm sure now you're thinking why the hell did I bother!!! I don't go to classes, but I have read loads of comments on here about bad consultant, and very few about good consultants, its such a shame as from everything you post on here, I would bet good money that you would be an excellent consultant. It sounds like a mix of ageism and what you said about having too many ideas of your own - they would obviously rather have a brainwashed zombie!!
Right, back to my slight disaster yesterday. We decided to go to Toby Carvery for lunch as we had a voucher for a free ice cream and fruit shoots for the kids and free ice cream for us. As it was free, I thought that if I was really good with the main food that I would treat myself to the ice cream. Anyway, when we get there, the voucher is not valid on a sunday  and not only that, instead of £5.75 the carvery was £9.49 on a sunday . So therefore I decided SOD IT, if I'm gonna pay £10 for this I'm gonna damn well enjoy it!!! I didn't go too silly though, I didn't have a yorkshire pud (yay me:T) and I didn't have apple sauce. I did have peas (free), carrots (free), cabbage (free), parsnips (cooked in oil I guess), a small bit of cauliflower cheese (I love it), and 3 potatoes. I also had some mint gravy and mint sauce. There was also fat on some of the meat WHICH I DIDN'T REMOVE (god it was good!!!). As we had told the kids that we were having an ice cream there beforehand, we decided that instead of pay more money there we would go to Maccy D's and get a Mcflurry on the way home - and I didn't have one :T.
So although it wasn't great, I don't think its as bad as it could have been and I still managed to lose 2lbs this morning taking me up to 9lbs in 3 weeks:j. I'm now hoping that it won't affect this weeks weight loss instead. Fingers and toes crossed.SW Journey Re Re-started 25/02/14

cande - well as others have said, SW's loss is this threads gain! I'm still going to do it at home so ill still be here filling in the gaps created by SW's paid but bad consultants.
Well done for not having a yorkshire! the ones at our Toby take up a minimum 1/4 of a plate and yorkshire pud is one of the few things i can't resist!Carvery isn't too bad as far as SW is concerned, the meat is usually cooked well and the green veg and mash will only have a bit of butter added at most. its the roasties, stuffing, yorkshires and gravy (i.e. all the good bits :rotfl:) that are syns.

Evilsquid - I am with everyone here. I am sorry that you didnt get it but I also agree that the person who interviewed you was totally unprofessional. Not to have prepared and read about you and to have made personal comments which were not constructive was very out of order. I would def ask for feedback - where you failed to make the grade? What were you lacking? Has age a contributing factor to the position etc etc.
You are within your rights and dont be fobbed off with short answers.
A friend of mine was in similar position (not SW) and again the person who was to interview her was changed. She questioned and appealed and got the position!0 -
Evilsquid - the yorkies at Toby's are HUGE, but as with our roasts at home I can't be doing with wasting my syns on them!! Well done for reminding me about the stuffing - managed to resist that too, ooh and the mash, but you can't have a roast dinner without gravy, so couldn't resist that. The only reason I agreed to going to Toby was that I knew its quite a good meal SW wise as long as you can hold back on certain things. The only things I'm not sure on how they were cooked was the parsnips, I assume they would have had oil, when I do parsnips at home I always use fry light, but I'm fairly sure theirs would have been done in oil. I'm almost certain the potatoes were done in oil too, but the rest of the veg were ok, apart from the cauliflower cheese!!
The guy serving gave me absolutely loads of meat as he was down to the end and couldn't slice it, so he gave me a huge great chunk of lamb, so I don't feel like I missed out by not having the yorkie or stuffing and came away feeling a little pleased with myself for actually being able to excerise a little self control for once!!SW Journey Re Re-started 25/02/14

I will NOT fail this time.
Poet -- what was your veg soup please?0 -
Annie6 i'll send of an email to the woman who should have interviewed me asking how i can get exact feedback off the woman who did as i'm not sure why i was rejected. i have absolutely no contact details for the woman who actually did my interview.
cande I'm the opposite, id rather have a gigantic yorkshire and do without the ice cream and other treats! I've been on SW and eating healthyish so long that my line of suff i can go without has moved from chocolate to the stuff you really miss long term like proper sausages, creamy sauces, yorkshires, stuffing and pancakes. i just don't crave chocolate and sweets like i used to. you def loose the taste for it when you cut down but other stuff replaces it!0 -
Its never easy is it evilsquid, you cut out one thing and the craving just gets replaced by something else, mine is cheese on toast atm!!SW Journey Re Re-started 25/02/14

i blame all of mine on the epic amount of macaroni and cheese i ate in the US over summer. its all that seemed appetising and cheapish on room service menus when we really needed food and now i just want it all the time!0 -
Hey all, how is everyone? Never seem to get much time to come online lately. Had two bad days, yesterday I messed up by drinking a small bottole of cherry coke I thought it was diet as OH had already poured it- 11 syns! Not too bad but I had already had my 15
Then last night I only had 2 hours sleep so was a zombie today, snacked on anything I could get my hands on and didn't cook had chinese instead- 50 syns :eek::( so mad at myself, I feel like all my hard work since last WI has been wastedBedtime now so atleast I wont eat anymore lol
Everything will be ok in the end, and if it isn't ok then it isn't the end0
