    Hello everyone :hello:

I need to lose weight as I no longer like myself in photos:eek::eek:. Never been small, but although I am not going up, I am as I get older finding it hard to lose and keep the weight off. Not aiming for miracles, but would happily settle for a small size 16 ( to allow movement) :rotfl: Four stone should see me roughly where I want to be. In the past tried many diets, the most success has usually been with LCarb, but as I am meant to be trying to control my Cholesterol (it is not a problem yet, but creeping up a little) and feel LC is not going to help that, and to be honest is totally against my hubby's diet which is always Low Fat to control his acid production. Thus said, I don't really eat Junk, chips are a infrequent treat, not a particular bread fan, so can avoid that, do have a sweet tooth, but always aim for low fat/sugar products, Zero drinks, etc. I did try SW many years ago and had some success with it, but talking 20 or more years ago now, so cannot recall most of it. So here I am, can anyone point me in the direction of where to start.

    Thanks

Why is it I have less time now I am retired then when I worked?
  • i finally got a reply of SW. they've turned me down for consultant. ho hum. I'm supposed to be at WI later and its properly put me off going and even carrying on going to class at all. i think I'm going to just do SW at home. I think its because I'm not at target right now and that I'm noticeably younger than everyone else who works for them.

I think that's a real pity evilsquid - I've had a couple of leaders who weren't at target and it made not a jot to their ability!!

Still you know we're here for you!

    Welcome

I've a relative newbie to SW, 4 weeks tomorrow. But already I know this is the best diet I have ever done in 20 years of yo-yo dieting. I eat more than when I calorie counted, and i'm getting better results about 12-13 pounds in the first 4 weeks.
I also have a sweet tooth, but there are some great SW recipes you can make, such as chocolate mousse, cheesecake and cakes that work with the diet.

Just goto the SW website, and look up your nearest meeting, or join online if you prefer. Good luck.

i finally got a reply of SW. they've turned me down for consultant. ho hum. Sorry to hear that, but maybe try again in a little while. From your posts on hear I think you would be great.

I had a bit of a nightmare morning, had a tyre blowout in the last lane of the M4. Then had to stand in the freezing cold for over an hour whilst the AA arrived, and then changed the wheel. The car is now in the garage checking for other damage.
It shook me up a bit. I stopped at a garage afterwards and the warm pastries and hot chocolate looked very tempting, but luckily i'm very stuborn and I resisted!

  • Agree with Piglet74. I have had Consultants before who are more overweight than I am! SW loss is our gain - we have our own personal Consultants on here!

    Today so far

    Milke for Tea (HEA)
    Spaghetti (F)
    2 slices HM Bread (HEB)
    Apple, Banana

Salmon, lettuce, cucumber, tomato, chopped up boiled egg, lemon juice
    1 Ryvita (sin)
    Mullerlite

    Mid-afternoon - Banana

    Dinner
Baby potatoes, (Big plate of Greens, Carrots, Broccoli, Soy Sauce - SF foods)

This evening - Packet Skips (4.5 sins)

Not sure about tomorrow yet, will trawl this thread for some inspiration. Still need to do a 7 day meal plan - why can't I just get on with it???

Anyway, a big thanks to everyone who takes the time to post on this thread - it is helping me to focus x
  • thank you for being lovely everyone :)

tbh, i wonder if it is because i actually knew what i was on about and they didn't like it. i'd be a prime candidate for trying to do things differently and being an annoyance to them. ah well. I'm skipping todays WI, I'm going out for a meal then to the cinema. i think ill just start doing WI at the gym, its only 50p there too lol.

Please could someone get me some lunch? I'm starving & DD has fallen asleep on me - not going to put her down for fear of waking her as she's a right grump today & had me in tears already. She's dreaming with her eyes open now which is really freaking me out!
B; fry-light fried egg & baked beans & toast (HEb)
    L; penne, beans & cheese (HEa x 2)
D; veg omelette followed by 2 naughty pancakes with sweetner & lemon juice (syns ?)
Drinks; Diet Cherry Coke - restarting addiction in order to lose weight!
Snacks; bananas when I find where hubby put them & yoghurts

    C xx

Sorry to hear the bad news evilsquid. Like others have said there doesn't seem much logic to the decsion. The 'area manager' (or somesuch) round here is an obnoxious person. When she stands in for our consultant people just weigh and go. She's rude, patronising and abrupt yet she got through!! My own consultant is a bit of a lightweight. I think she's lazy. She does a minimum although lately I've noticed more emails and posters and things appearing so maybe they're on to her!

If I were you I'd talk to someone about getting feedback as to why you were turned down. Enjoy your meal!
  • Maman it was our area manager who interviewed me, the district manager was sick. she wasn't very nice at all to me. she kept going on and on about how i was the same age as her son. She also kept saying she didn't understand what i was saying to her about how long I've been with SW and where i was in my journey, despite having my old book open in front of her and the application form quite clearly saying my joining dates and weight loss. she admitted to not reading my notes and not preparing for my interview properly too.

meeting her has made me question paying for SW at all. i don't mind giving my fee to my consultant but knowing at least half of it is off to SW to pay her wages is making me think twice about it.

i wouldn't be at all surprised if i was turned down purely because she wasn't happy with my age and they were worried i'd start saying i don't agree and not just be quiet and toe the party line.
