Then DD1 got it yesterday, but she also had a roaring temp with it which didn't break until 4am today!
Haven't been out for a walk since Thursday and am lacking sleep - and I am totally fedup!
Hope you and the family feel better soon, and you can get out walking.kandfs_mam wrote: »Thanks debs - I have been looking in the cottage cheese section and couldn't find it. I'll have another look again. Either that or I might try philadelphia as my hea

New Recipe
Quick Bacon & Vegtable PastaThis might be too simple to post as a recipe, but I made it up and it's one of my favourites for a quick lunch. You could change the vegtables to whatever you have in or like.
Makes 2 portions
3 sticks of celerys
1 red pepper
1 green pepper
large onion
about 250g of passata
Garlic
4 rasher of trimmed bacon
pasta of your choice (I use Wholemeal Penne)
If your pasta takes 12 mins then start it at the same time as you start cooking the veggies.
Chop the veggies, and 'fry' in a pan with fry light, pepper and garlic for 2-3 mins - then add the passata, turn the heat down and simmer gently for 10 mins (it if starts to look dry add a tablespoon of water) Grill the bacon, chop it up and stir it into the veggies/tomato mix for the last minute or two. Drain the pasta, and stir it into the tomato bacon mix.
This recipe warms up nicely in the microwave if you like to take something into work0 -
Thanks for posting your food for the day, I find this so useful, and in this case fantastic, I had totally forgotten about the pasta in sauces, guess whats for lunch today:rotfl:
I find it useful too seeing what other people eat and posting menus does help me keep focused.
I'm having extra HEXs (and some extra syns:D) to help keep within target range.
EE today (as ever)
B: NAS squash, kippers, HEB toast, HEA milk for teas
L: smoked salmon sandwich with scrape of horseradish, bananaroast chicken, SW roasties and parsnips, cabbage, carrots, broccoli
Syns: wine:jstuffing, gravy, xtra slice bread
gbatey, I enjoy a pasta salad made by stirring a tray of roasted vegetables (aubergine, courgette, pepper, onion, mushrooms, tomatoes, garlic etc) into cooked pasta. If it's a bit dry stir in some tomato puree. If this is going to be a regular thing, it might be worth investing in a food flask so you could take HM soups to work.0 -

Hi All,
Joined SW two weeks ago and at my first proper weigh in on Thurs I've lost 2 1/2 lbs so v pleased! Lost 3lbs myself the week before I joined SW so 5 1/2 lbs all in all so far!
I'm back to work tomorrow after having a week off so need some ideas for taking my lunch in to work; we don't have a microwave so it has to be 'cold' whatever it is. I'm on the EE plan so planning on having porridge for breakfast in the morn (HEB), whatever I take each day for lunch with fruit to snack on during the day and then dinner is easy as I cook from scratch.
I know I will get bored with salads so if anyone has any ideas on what I can take for lunch they would be greatfully received (to avoid temptation of the sandwich shop!).
I like to cook a pack of golden vegetable rice (free on EE) and let it cool. I add allsorts to it - leftover chilli is my favourite ( S/W of course!) It looks a bit yuccy but is divine.
In summer I'll add salad and a tin of tuna to it, or cold cooked meats.
And I love it with chicken that has been marinaded in FF natural yoghurt and curry paste and then cooked in the oven mixed in it!
With a bit of planning you can have some lovely lunches that are syn free (or very low syn!):jFlylady and proud of it:j0 -
Thanks for all the ideas peeps! Fingers crossed for another loss this coming Thurs xDebt free 2018

I have just had the most delicious dessert, Low-Syn chocolate cake (from the SW website) topped with Total 2% Greek yogurt (the big 500g pot of this has 1.5 syns, and I only had about 1/6th of it)
Choc cake recipe
5 Scan Bran
3 beaten eggs
1 level tbsp golden syrup
1oz cocoa powder
½ mug sweetener
Soak the scan bran in boiling water for 1 min, then drain off water and mash. Mix all the above ingredients togther, and microwave ....the recipe says for 7 mins, but I found 5 mins was enough.
Whole recipe has 11.5 syns .. or have the scan bran as part of your HEB, and then only 6.5 syns. It makes about 6- 8 portions, I'm planning to have a 1/3 of it each day, and take the scan bran as part of my HEB.0 -

You could make one of the scab bran cakes, the giner one, or the chocolate one to give you something filling and tasty after your salad. Also maybe cold potato or pasta, in Lighter than Light mayo (1/2 a syn for a tablespoon)0 -
I have just put in the oven a bread and no butter pudding.
I gave the dish a spray with fry light to prevent sticking.
I cut up 4 slices of WW brown bread, spread them with some mashed (nearly ready for the bin) bananas, sprinkled over with 5 tablespoons of sweetner and cinameon and chucked in some milk.
Thats pud sorted for tomingt and tomorrow and only used HEa and HEb : )Love your Mum, you'll never get another one when she's gone.0 -
Good evening fellow slimmers!
Well as planned I went to the cinema yesterday to watch the Woman in Black with DD. Drank Diet coke and ate some wine gums whilst I was in cinema. Then off to Nandos. Had chicken breast in pitta with savoury rice (thanks for the helpful poster who gave me the sin value of the rice. And Peas. NO chips, No Coleslaw and No alcohol! Was very pleased with myself. Then as planned my Sister came home with us, where we demolished 3 bottles of Rose between the two of us. Not so good. Oh, also had a 2 finger kit kat, some doritoes and breadsticks, with BGTY roasted red pepper houmous and sour cream and chive dips. And two profiteroles. Not so good. Trying to be very honest with you all, as I am only lying to myself right?
This mornning had Beans on toast for breakfast. Roast chicken for lunch, lots of veggies and also a couple of roast potatoes and gravy, no pudding. 3 profiteroles mid afternoon (yes they are all gone now!) and just had 2 wraps with chill and the left over sour cream and chive dip. The sins are adding up eh? However I weighed myself this morning - 2 days early I know, but I appear to have lost 4 pound already. So decided to have some sin free days and lots of SF foods for next couple of days to hopefully counteract the picking I have done the last two days. Still haven't made a meal plan, in spite of my best intentions. However on Friday night when the wine was calling me I resisted the urge and washed all my make up brushes instead. God what an exciting life I lead.
So all in all good progress, but could(and must) do better.
Thanks for reading x0
