Cande - i think the food directory is about £7/8 and the other books are £3/4 each.[/QUOTE]
thanks evilsquid, it's such a rip off that people are selling them for £30+, but as I can't afford to go to class I guess I'm gonna have to keep trying to find a cheap one. Is the food directory and the free foods books any good?SW Journey Re Re-started 25/02/14

There are usually offers out there for first class free, or half price.
Go to one class and get your books, it shouldnt cost you more than a fiver.Take care what you do on the way up, it may come back at you on the way down.

I did that at the start of Jan - the Daily Mirror had a free registration coupon so it cost £4.95 for my first week. My intention was to just go to that and get the initial pack which is all you really need and gives you access to the website, then not go back but try to do it myself.
However, I was really impressed with my first week and decided to go to get weighed in week 2 to see if it worked.... and now I have decided to go every week. it really keeps me on the straight and narrow and what I'm not spending on booze/junk food I now spend on the class.
If you are on a mega tight budget it would be worthwhile looking out for the next special offer and going to the first class for £4.95 - even if you don't go back you should get internet access for 4 weeks (someone correct me if I'm wrong) and you could use the 4 weeks to get the syns values of the foods you use most often from the website and copy them into spreadsheet or note book.
Good luck!Mortgage Aug 22 £280,000

Cande this is very good advice. You could also buy any other books that you want at that first class. I bought the Free branded foods book at £1.95, and that gave me some great ideas.0 -
Mornin All
Hope you are all well, I never got a chance to get on yesterday as I actually had to *cough* work at work yesterday :rotfl:(only chance I get to come on). I made the SW diet chicken last night, it was bearable but personally too sweet for me, will have the rest tonight but won't be having it again.
Well done to all losers & welcome newbies, on todays plan, I have split my HEA & HEB so hope thats ok
B - 1 x Ryvita with 2 light LC triangles, melon
L - WM Bap (42g) with 1 LC light & honey roast ham, apple, pear, banana
D - Diet coke chicken with rice & veg
S - Mullerlight, small amount of milk for 2 coffees (to make up rest of HEA).
I am going out for lunch tomorrow with my half sister, (we just found each other after 33 years)but I am hoping only to share a bottle of rose and have jacket potato with steak n salad or something so am not using too may syns as I have been good this week and not had any wine since WI on Wednesday. Its my DH's 40th birthday party next week and I bought a lovely dress I NEED to fit into  in a 10 rather than a 12. I am also going to Sally Morgan Roadshow next Thursday with my BF & 2 x SIL's (one coming all the way down from Dingwall) so need to be on my bestest behaviour :A

i think i carry weight really badly
i'm 5ft 2
10 stone 10
and usually a size 16, have just had my first size 14 pair of trousers
wondering how long it'll be till i can go shopping LOL :rotfl:
You sound about the same as me, I am 5' 2 n 1/2" :rotfl:At Christmas , I was at my heaviest at 10st 10lb, shouted at the scales and told them they were talking [STRIKE]s41te[/STRIKE] poop.
Since deciding to start SW, my starting weight was 10st 7lb (was doing 1200cals a day before that) and was starving. I know its not a lot compared to the mountains some of you are climbing, but for years I ws 7st 10lb (looking back, I don't look healthy) :rotfl:so I am aiming at 8st 7lb so I feel comfortable within myself, even just losing 8lbs so far has really boosted my confidence as I am a very very self conscious person. This is probably the main reason I don't go to class as I feel I would be frowned upon. My BF's hubby is now at target, he has lost over 9 stone in 19 months and he looks fantastic now!

Hi everyone,
Could anybody please tell me how much it costs to buy the Food Directory, Free Foods and Low Syn Snack books at class please, as I have been looking on e-bay as I can't afford to go to classes or join online, and the set are going for about £30, some even more!!
Many thanks
Hi Cande.. i don't think there's much love for the new food directory, seems a bit complicated to use, could you use google instead? i use this for all my syns and the answer is usually somewhere in the net.. usually on minimims (sp?)
Or do you know anyone that goes to class that could get the books for you? I know a lady at work who goes to class so if i want something desparately she gets it for me..
Trying to minimise damage that i did yesterday todaygreen day

Thanks for getting back to me so quick evilsquid, I do hope you get the consultants job as you are a real fountain of knowledge.
After reading your post after this one are we definitely saying that they are ALL free except peach? Also do you happen to know whether the small pots are free or synned.
:j:j:j on the mackrel still being free:D:D
I'll have to try the other sausages, coz I'll be pretty upset to have to take them off my Full English menu. When I was doint it last time, I tried the Linda Mcartney ones as they were on offer (not sure what flavour) but I didn't like them as much as the quorn ones
I got 3 packs of quorn sausages, but I dont like them( meant to buy 1 pack and 2 packs proper ones for the rest of the family)
. I am sure I counted them as 1 syn but they never said "Best Ever"
WW Premium Pork sausages are lovely, and only 0.5 syns each, I much preferred those ones, never tried the L McArtney ones.:TGratitude is the best Attitude :T

I have had a poor day food wise. Forgot breakfast, had two poached eggs and a spoonful of baked beans for lunch. Just realised I haven't eaten nearly enough. The plan is to have eggs beans and SW chips.
We went to Aldi today and did a big shop. Bought loads of fruit and vegetables and I am going to spend Sunday making loads of soups to freeze, then I will always have something in the freezer when I am hungry. Hopefully it will keep me on track, I could even have a bowl of soup at bedtime which my meds.
I am 5' 6" and 12st 1.5lbs now. I never went over 10st 2lbs except when pregnant. Then, in 2004 started have to take lots of meds that ALL have on the side effects 'May cause weight gain. I went up to 13st 13lbs when I decided enough was enough and started SW online. Every ounce I have lost so far has been with SW. They do say if it comes off slowly it will stay off, well I have been so slow I weigh the same as September 2010!! Time to take it seriously again.
A question about Tefal actifry. I would love to make my chips in there. Does anyone know if it is okay to just do a few sprays of frylight instead of the recommended tbsp oil? And will they turn out okay?business mortgage £0))''(+ Barclay's business kitchen loan £0=Total paid off was £96105 PPI claimed and received £13527
