Fantastic thread- still trawling through it. Have taken on board the tip of just concentrating on losing half a stone at a time, which seems more achievable.

I have all the SW books, back issues of magazines so won't be joining a regular class, but popping in here for support & tips if thats ok. Starting weight 18st 6 (GULP) Thankfully I don't know anyone here so I can remain anonymous. I would be mortified to reveal my weight to anyone I know (even DH who is my best friend).

I am 40 in October 2013 so I am giving myself a nice long time to achieve my goal. I am coonscious that my body has worked very well up until now, but it won't forever so I need to get sorted NOW. I am so ashamed that I let myself balloon to a size 18/20 (I do carry the weight pretty well.

Loving the idea of lots of lovely low syn or free snacks in the evening as that is my danger time. Yesterday evening I had an Oatso Simple Honey & Almond sachet with milk, mixed in frozen berries, large cup of tea and banana. That kept me satisfied (I hate the feeling of being hungry).

The Directory I have with the list of Supermarket foods is from 2007! So do not contain the Syn Values of Oatso Simple ranges. If anyone could pass them on I would be grateful.

Does anyone have any tips on low syn snacks I coud buy for myself for evenings? My preference is savoury so I have skips/french fries. I need to get my head fully around the EE plan (I have the book showing what the plan is)so any help whilst I do this, would really be appreciated.

Got Quorn curry & rice for tea. Had poached eggs, & beans on toast for Breakfast. Not sure about lunch yet.

I wouldn't be ashamed about being a size 18-20. I think a lot of people look great at that size, plus size models are usually 16-18.

I was 20-22, 3 weeks in on SW and I am definitely not a 22 any more. It depends on different peoples build, but like you I'm big chested and loose my weight of my waist to start with. Whatever size my boobs and bum are, my waist is always one size smaller!
Personally I would love to be back in size 16 clothes, that seemed to suit me (from what I rememebr 10 years ago) :o

wondering how long it'll be till i can go shopping LOL :rotfl:

I'm like you! I'm 5ft 2 and I'm currently 11 stone 13. i do look pregnant, I've been hiding in baggy tops for ages and my skinny jeans days are long gone. all my weight has gone right on my stomach and thighs, i can still see my wrist bones and i can still get my little finger and thumb to meet around my wrist and because i still look delicate everywhere else it just adds to the "oh she must be pregnant" look.

That's interesting saidan. You might be right. I'm the same weight as you and almost the same height (5ft 3) and am size 12 (admittedly on the large side of 12, but at my goal weight, 10st 1, I'm pretty much bang on 12 in every shop. Sometimes 10, for tops).

At my heaviest (14.5 stone) I was a size 20-22.

Afternoon everyone, I hope everyone is having a good day!

Well, I got my new scales yesterday and got on them this morning and it wasn't as bad as I was expecting - in that I'm the weight I was this time last year and I was expecting to be more - which is something. I have just dug out my WW stuff from this time last year, and in fact, I'm 3 and a half pounds lighter than then, even though I don't feel like it!!!! So while we're in confessional mood, I will say that I am 5 ft6 and am starting at 13 stone 10lb.......and for the poster who said about not being able to tell anyone including DH, that's the same for me.

OK, so target number one is to lose half a stone, then to weigh in at 12 stone something........the last time I was that was four + years ago before I had DS2.

I will weigh 'officially' on a Thursday morning. Today isn't a great day as the kids and I went to my mum's today and it was a fish and chip lunch.....so I had a yoghurt for breakfast, worked extra hard at pilates this morning, and will have soup and ryvita for tea. The damage at lunch was.....a handful of chips with a spoon of curry sauce, and I had chicken breast (no skin, I took it off, horrible stuff). So, controlled rather than a big blow out, but forgivable as I am using this half term to get the hang of SW ........ I will be good for the rest of the day and be back on board tomorrow.

Enough waffling from me, hope everyone is ok x

I should probably add that I took my daughter to the cake shop today to order her birthday cake for next week....and I am pretty sure I've put on a few pounds just from breathing in the aroma of the place.......OMG, it's gorgeous but I bet even the air in that place is calorie laden!!!!!

I am going to stick to a green day again today.
Breakfast;porridge made with water (HEB), satsuma
    snacks tea with milk (HEA)
Lunch Quorn chilli and an apple
    Dinner Quorn chilli and pasta
    satsuma
bedtime, sachet hot choc (4 syns)
2 ryvita and fat free cottage cheese (HEA & B)

I am hungry so maybe should have had a carb with the lunchtime chilli.

Regarding dress sizes of people, I think it does depend a lot on where you carry the extra weight. I am back to a size 12 bottom but have a big stomach and top. At WI today a lovely woman thought I was the same weight as her at 9st 10lbs!! I am nearly 2.5 stone heavier than her.
business mortgage £0))''(+ Barclay's business kitchen loan £0=Total paid off was £96105 PPI claimed and received £13527

God I love this thread - everyone is so supportive. I am very much an hourglass shape with a 38FF chest (huge but I love it, my best feature i would say and dh would agree), but a big bum and thunder thighs to cancel it out :( I always have problems buying jeans as I need a size 22 on the thighs but the waist is always huge. Unfortunately since I have hit my late 30s I have this unsightly roll of flab which sits above my stomach. Since starting SW I have noticed my stomach has shrunk but the "roll" hasn't - bl00dy boo!

I think it's fab that we are all here to support each other and be "diet buddies" x

This sounds like me.. i have that weird roll of flab too, it's like a boob shelf.. i'm a 38F and a size 18 on bottom, 22 on top (just cos i don't like wearing tight tops though).. i'd love not to have the roll so i could wear normal t-shirts, at the moment all i wear is gypsy tops because they are really baggy around the front!

I always lose my weight off my bum and thighs first so i end up looking top heavy!! :(

Today i've done one good thing and one bad :o i've started hula hooping.. hoping to get rid of that roll of flab, it's really fun even though i can't even manage to keep the hula hooping for more than 30 seconds!! i'm also annoyed at myself because i've eaten half a loaf of bread, but whats done is done and i need to try and get back to normal tomorrow cos i'm at home all day with nothing to do  i might clean and clean till i have no energy to open the fridge:rotfl:

I can't resist keep popping back today - can't you tell its half term and I am off work today!!!
I take on board the comments about not having Superfree foods and tonight I will sit down and prepare a meal plan for the next 7 days using lots of Superfree foods. I will treat myself to a bag of Skips and a Becks Blus (3 Sins) whilst I do so - which will be a vast improvement on the bottle of wine and 3 + bags of crisps I would usually stuff myelf with on a Thursday evening whilst DH is at 5 a side.

I don't go in for the IMAGE therapy at SW club, because I find it difficult to talk in front of strangers - it is much easier on here to say what I want to say to virtual members, who understand where I am at.

I have to say that seeing Ruth Jones and Dawn French lose loads of weight have inspired me on too - they were my back-up when they were bigger, because I considered them attractive even when they were big. They are even more so now that they are slimmer and seeing their "after" look makes me think about how I would look "after" too. Long way to go but I will get there.

The only downside to SW is that I can't stop peeing at the minute - up several times in the night and several times an hour today. I think that must be a good thing - if only for the excercise in walking to and from the toilet!

I understand the HEA, HEB and other abbreviations. Ashamed to say that although I have done the SW plan before, but, true to form, lost a couple of stone gave up and piled it all back on again. Not this time though. I promise, that although I won't post every day, I will be completely honest with you all about my slips ups, weight losses and gains - otherwise I am only fooling myself, right?

Breakfast, sausage (5.5), bacon, beans, tomato. Youg & fruit.
    Snack banana and plum
Lunch 2 slices of ham with leaves and carrot sticks.
    Snack, mandarin
Tea chilli, mushrooms, tomato & rice.
Snack 3 ryvita (heb) chocolate phily (2.5)

The big breakfast seemed to really set me up today, I didn't snack nearly as much as usual.
Full of the cold so an early night is called for.
Love your Mum, you'll never get another one when she's gone.
