Jesus. REally? I thought that'd be free! I might just freewheel it and eat what seems to be low fat then. Thanks for looking it up.

Huh ? I also thought Onken fat free yoghurts were free - aren't they? Can someone confirm this?

apparently they received loads of complaints about using artificial sweeteners and have reformulated to use use sugar instead. the new ones have a little blob on them saying "now made with sugar" in it. it didn't go down well in my group.

Hello all. I am FULL of a filthy cold. Spent the day in bed yesterday and feel as bad today, but had to come to work as we have a busy week. Bleargh.

On the upside I lost some weight as I hardly ate anything yesterday. However I'm going out to YO Sushi at lunchtime to meet a friend and am wondering about SW and sushi. In theory it seems like a match made in heaven - fish and rice - but on a bit of googling and looking at the website it seems that there are some syns involved. I kind of fancy a chicken noodle soup thing - always good for colds - but what do you think? Could happily have some miso soup and nigiri as well.

sushi has hidden syns because they use starch to make the rice stick together so you arent eating just rice, its starch and a few syns. i can find these on the website but i don't know everything they serve and it won't just display all by yo! sushi because that would be just too helpful! :rotfl:

Yo! Sushi, Hot Classics Takoyaki, per serving 8½
Yo! Sushi, Prawn Tempura, per serving 6½
Yo! Sushi, Vegetable Tempura, per serving 4
Yo! Sushi, Chicken Katsu, per serving 8
Yo! Sushi, Prawn Katsu, per serving 6
Yo! Sushi, Vegetable Firecracker Rice, per serving 9

Does anyone have any tips on low syn snacks I coud buy for myself for evenings? My preference is savoury so I have skips/french fries. I need to get my head fully around the EE plan (I have the book showing what the plan is)so any help whilst I do this, would really be appreciated.

mug shots are good snacks. there are all free apart from the thai thats 0.5 and cheese that is 2 i think.

the new posh alpen porridge sachets are syned too, someone from my group bought it thinking it'd be a HEB and its was 5 or 6 syns a sachet.
  • kandfs mam, perhaps we can give each other some mutual support?

I do carry the extra baggage well, although I am obviously overweight. I am quite a solid build, with huge boobs (E cup) but quite curvy in all the right places, which are more noticeable when I am slimmer! I am currently wearing size 18 jeans (New Look Inspire) and a Size 18 top (again New Look Inspire). Wheneverr I have been weighed at the Dr's surprise has been expressed at how well I carry the weight. Well all I can say is my knees are now playing up, where they never have before, so I am clearly not carrying the excess flab well anymore (IYSWIM).

I am amazed that my body has functioned so well given the amount of abuse I have given to it. I have never smoked or taken any kind of drug - with the exception of alcohol, which I suspect is where most of my weight gain has come from. I could easily polish a bottle of wine in one sitting and now I know the sin value I can see where the extra calories are coming from. That and the evening snacking.

I love Fruit & Veg and eat pretty healthily, its "just" my portion sizes, alcohol intake, evening snacking and lack of exercise that I need to get control of lol.

I will get there, I have a short term goal of a counsin's wedding in a few months so would like to lose a couple of stone by then.

I'm not at all shocked by this - I love porridge but I have avoided trying this in case it's too nice. It's gpot dried fruit in and probably something to sweeten it too.....

Fantastic thread- still trawling through it. Have taken on board the tip of just concentrating on losing half a stone at a time, which seems more achievable.

I have all the SW books, back issues of magazines so won't be joining a regular class, but popping in here for support & tips if thats ok. Starting weight 18st 6 (GULP) Thankfully I don't know anyone here so I can remain anonymous. I would be mortified to reveal my weight to anyone I know (even DH who is my best friend).

I am 40 in October 2013 so I am giving myself a nice long time to achieve my goal. I am coonscious that my body has worked very well up until now, but it won't forever so I need to get sorted NOW. I am so ashamed that I let myself balloon to a size 18/20 (I do carry the weight pretty well.

Loving the idea of lots of lovely low syn or free snacks in the evening as that is my danger time. Yesterday evening I had an Oatso Simple Honey & Almond sachet with milk, mixed in frozen berries, large cup of tea and banana. That kept me satisfied (I hate the feeling of being hungry).

The Directory I have with the list of Supermarket foods is from 2007! So do not contain the Syn Values of Oatso Simple ranges. If anyone could pass them on I would be grateful.

Got Quorn curry & rice for tea. Had poached eggs, & beans on toast for Breakfast. Not sure about lunch yet.

Hi there & welcome to the mad house :rotfl:

If you are doing EE there doesn't appear to be much superfrees in there. Eggs and beans are not s/f [steps back from the egg discussion as some say they are], not sure whats in your curry i.e. onions, mushrooms etc but unless you put whats in we won't know and others may pounce re no s/f. EE has to be 1/3 s/f either per meal or over the day, depends which way you prefer doing it. I mostly do green so haven't got my head round EE properly so not sure what is the correct way.

may as well have put that now :rotfl:
Its not what you do but the way that you do it, thats what get results :T

  • Hi all, do you mind if I join in. I've been doing SW for 5 weeks now and got my stone award last night which I'm thrilled about! Still got a long way to go and at least another 4 stone to lose, but breaking it down into smaller targets. next mini target is club10 which is about 1/2 stone away. x

Well I'm back from lunch and just looked up what I ate on the website and am pleasantly surprised. THough rather annoyingly they don't have any kind of nigiri listed - which is surely one of the most popular things! Anyway, I had miso soup (3 syns, ridiculous really), edamame beans (free), Cucumber maki (Free), salmon selection (free) and a nigiri selection (am assuming free, as one of the salmon selection was a nigiri). And fizzy water to drink. Feeling very virtuous.

Oh Mrs Optimist, you sound so like me. I will be 40 in August 2013 and am determined to shift this weight. I weighed in at 17st 13lb which I can admit on here but could never admit to anyone in the "real" world. I am heavier than my DH who is 6'4" whilst I am just 5'7". You must carry the weight really well if you are just a size 18/20, I am an ample size 22 though with the losses in the last 5 weeks my clothes are certainly feeling looser.

Good luck on your journey, I am in it for the long haul too.

ETA - the almond & honey oat so simple sachet is 6 syns dry (ie before milk)

I'm like you - but I'm a bit further on in the journey - started at 17st 9.5lb - and I'm only 5'4" - and was a size 22/24 at the start, which was July 2010.

I'm now 12 stone 8lb and a size 16(ish). It hasn't all been plain sailing but stick with it - it works! My book shows that there have been weeks when I have gained, weeks when i have stayed the same and weeks when I have lost!

But the difference is that this time I was in for the long haul - and I am determined to get to target in 2012. If i can help at anyone on here - just ask away!

So keep going ........ you will get there!
