I can't resist keep popping back today - can't you tell its half term and I am off work today!!!
I take on board the comments about not having Superfree foods and tonight I will sit down and prepare a meal plan for the next 7 days using lots of Superfree foods. I will treat myself to a bag of Skips and a Becks Blus (3 Sins) whilst I do so - which will be a vast improvement on the bottle of wine and 3 + bags of crisps I would usually stuff myelf with on a Thursday evening whilst DH is at 5 a side.

I don't go in for the IMAGE therapy at SW club, because I find it difficult to talk in front of strangers - it is much easier on here to say what I want to say to virtual members, who understand where I am at.

I have to say that seeing Ruth Jones and Dawn French lose loads of weight have inspired me on too - they were my back-up when they were bigger, because I considered them attractive even when they were big. They are even more so now that they are slimmer and seeing their "after" look makes me think about how I would look "after" too. Long way to go but I will get there.

The only downside to SW is that I can't stop peeing at the minute - up several times in the night and several times an hour today. I think that must be a good thing - if only for the excercise in walking to and from the toilet!

I understand the HEA, HEB and other abbreviations. Ashamed to say that although I have done the SW plan before, but, true to form, lost a couple of stone gave up and piled it all back on again. Not this time though. I promise, that although I won't post every day, I will be completely honest with you all about my slips ups, weight losses and gains - otherwise I am only fooling myself, right?

Is it your first week or two? My first week I was going to the loo all the time as well, 1 and 2's!! Must have been a good sign though, cos I lost 7.5 lb that week!

If you would like to go to your group, just have a quite word with your consultant first, and ask her to miss you out when she goes through people. Then the first few weeks you can just sit and listen until you feel comfortable. No one has to speak if they would rather not :)

I made the Scan Bran Ginger cake, recipe of the SW recipe. Only I used ginger root (from the fruit & veg in the supermarket) instead of the stem ginger in the recipe. Mine only had the 5 syns for the 5 Scan bran, but i'm having half of it today, as half my HEB, so syn free.

I'll be honest it doesn't taste amazing on it's own, not very sweet and a bit of a bran flavour .... BUT with mullerlight and fruit on it was really nice, and also very filling.

    Hello One and All,

Another day on track food-wise but no gym as I am so flipping tired today. Ho Hum.

    Green

Milk in tea throughout the day (HEA)
B - 2 x WM Nimble (HEB), egg and 3 BGTYS Bacon Medallions (I am guessing 6 syns as per usual bacon with the fat removed but this could be over estimating as they are only 18 calories a slice), 1 Tbsp Tommy K (1 syn)
    S - Apple
L - Brown rice, egg, stir fry veg, peach
S - Hi Fi Bar (HEB), Cherries
D - WM pasta, Mixed Veg and sauce made from whizzed up LF cottage cheese, garlic and mixed herbs, Caramel snack-a-jack (3 syns), pineapple
Slimming World Restart Again 14/02/11: 152lbs
    Target Weight: 133lbs

Please can someone tell me how many syns are in the choclate philly, and for what size measure/portion? Got some in today, and before I eat the entire tub, it might be handy to know the syns!!!

(my plan for when I (ever!) lose the weight is to dig out my old carrot cake with chocolate chips recipe, cos the choc philly would be an amazing filling/icing.......! that will be my reward at the end of the slog.....)

I also have a roll round my middle which wasn't there pre-babies......without the big boobs to rest on it!!!! Don't shoot me, but in my opinion, it's the ladies with skinny legs who come off well......you can be trim as trim all through, but if you have big legs (like me) you won't look at skinny as someone who has a much bigger body with thin legs.....no matter how thin I've been, my legs, (calves boo ho), are chunky and that to me makes me feel bigger than I am.......

What really annoys me is that for years I MUST have been the thin person I want to be, but WHY WHY WHY didn't I realise it at the time??????? I was saying to DH the other day, I am now the actual size that I have always been in MY HEAD....stupid, stupid........he just shook his head and muttered something about women and how we have funny ideas about how we look, I'd never tell him, but he's probably right!

rae18 that is so me - 15 years ago there was a group of us that used to weigh ourselves in the stationery cupboard at work every week. :rotfl:At that point I weighed 12st and thought I was huge, oh to turn the clock back the 15 years and kick myself up the backside! 2 babies (11 years apart!) and a complete lack of self control later and I am where I am now - the fat friend of the group :(

However, you can't look back only forward and hopefully by Christmas I will be feeling and looking better. I really hope that by following SW I wont fall into the same trap that I have with other clubs before and lose 2st then get bored, come off plan and put it all back on by the Xmas again.

We are going on holiday in July to Majorca and I would really like to have 3st off by then which is about 2lb per week. We are away All Inclusive for 11 days and I intend to fully enjoy myself and take the hit on the scales when I come back and start again.

    A 30g portion is 4½ syns.

  • kandfs mam, are you sure we are not the same person lol. I remember weighing 11 stone, always felt huge, when in fact looking back at photos of myself then I really wasn't. Not at all. I am the same, lose 2 stone easily, get bored, then come off plan and pile it all back on again. Fed up with the yo-yo factor.

Someone asked whether I was on my second week - no, just my second day! The toilet situation really is ridiculous though. Hopefully it may mean a good hefty weight loss next week. I will keep you posted.

I am taking DD to Nando's on Saturday as she got an excellent school report, then off to watch the Woman in Black. The cinema doesn't bother me as I never take anything to eat or drink when I am in there - the sound of other people chomping away annoys me so I never add to it!

I have a voucher for a free quarter chicken so that should be free right? (less the skin of course). What about sides? Corn on the cob? It is the lack of planning that scuppers me so any advise or tips you can give for Nando's on Saturday will be appreciated. My Sister is coming over Saturday night so I plan to have a bottle of wine within my sins allowance. Or perhaps meaure out in advance some vodka and slim line tonic and sin beforehand. I have to be realistic, I will want to
drink when she is here as that is what we do when we get together. I will organise some sin free snacks for when I get the inevitable munchies.

Really hard this evening not to crack open a bottle on wine, have had my French fries crisps and Becks Blue. To avoid temptation (and it really is temptation at this time of the night) I am off to change our bedding for something to take my mind off it, and have a shower, so will wish you all a good night now and thank you for your support. I feel I have my own lifeline on here which I reallly really do need!

Just watching USA Biggest Loser and caught the end of a section that had 100 Calorie Cupcakes:eek:

Quick google came up with the recipe and method. Most of the ingredients didn't look too bad so thought they just might make a nice celebration dessert

I wonder if one of you lovelies who can get online could perhaps work out the syns. Here is the recipe and method ;)

Vanilla Cupcakes (USA bigges loser 100 cal cupcake)

    Makes about 14 cupcakes

    Ingredients

    5 organic egg whites
    Pinch of salt
    3 tablespoons honey
    2 teaspoons vanilla extract
    ¼ cup nonfat Greek yogurt
½ cup whole wheat flour (4oz)
    1 teaspoon baking powder

    For the raspberry frosting

1 cup nonfat cream cheese, at room temp
    1 cup fresh raspberries
    Fresh raspberries to garnish

    Method

    Preheat the oven to 325F.
Place the egg whites in a large bowl and using a handheld mixer whip the whites on medium speed for 3 to 4 minutes or until the whites begin to lighten up and hold their shape.
Increase speed to high and whip in the salt and honey until the whites hold a soft peak, then add the vanilla extract.
    Fold in the yogurt.
In a separate medium mixing bowl combine the flour and baking powder and mix well.
Sift the dry ingredients into the egg whites a little at a time, gently folding them in with a rubber spatula.
Once fully incorporated, scoop the batter into cupcake tins lined with cupcake papers.
Bake the cupcakes for 15 to 20 minutes or until they have colored and gently spring back when pushed with a finger.
Remove from the oven and cool the cupcakes at room temp.
While the cupcakes are baking, puree the raspberries in a blender until smooth.
Pass through a fine mesh strainer into a small saucepot and cook over medium heat for 5 to 7 minutes or until the puree reduces slightly.
    Cool completely.

Place the cream cheese into a medium mixing bowl and fold the puree into the cream cheese until fully mixed.
Once cupcakes are cool, spread a little of the berry frosting over the cupcakes, garnish each with one raspberry and serve.

    Thanks in advance.

Beki on a green or red day you can have two HEA and two HEB. its to make up for the fact that on G or R the list of free food is missing either meat or pasta/potatoes/grains so the second HEB was so you could have a measured portion of what wasn't free food on the day you have. e.g. on red potatoes are a measured HEB not free and on green a piece of chicken is a measured HEB not free.

its all in your food optimising book if you have a read. green is basically all the green and orange pages and red is all the red and orange pages.
Thanks for replying, I was told not to read the section on green and red as I would confuse myself, and I was confused enough to start with. But what you have said does make sense so thank you :)

Well I went to weigh in and I am very pleased. Loss of 1.5 pounds to me that is great because of how many parties I went to last week! And now I feel more confident in the plan it makes me more determined :D

Seen as everyone else is sharing I may as well.
My weight has always fluctuated, made worse by the fact I have hormone issues, I used to be 5 foot 8 but shrunk so now around 5 foot 7 and half ish, at first weigh in I was 13 stone 7.5, this week was 13.6 :) When I got with OH 5 years ago, I was around 11.5 stone and would love to be that again so I think that will be my ultimate target. When I was pregnant with my DD I was hospitalised for 4 weeks due to severe sickness and I lost two stone (a stone in 6 days at one point) and that really messed my body up so I am having to be careful with the weight loss.

So nice to be able to share with people who won't judge :) Oh and well done to those who have been to WI :T

Everything will be ok in the end, and if it isn't ok then it isn't the end :)
