    rae18 welcome!Any questions - ask away!

Exactly what she said!! Feel free to post meal plans so we can help if needed.

rae, I'm not a huge fruit fan either but I manage fine with mostly veg and salady bits. I started SW when size 16 started to get a bit tight (OK very tight:o) and I refused to buy 18s. I'm now a small 12 after 10 months on SW (and now 6 months at target).

I was going to suggest that perhaps you don't buy any scales but go to somewhere like Boots once a week instead. I don't have scales at home deliberately otherwise I think I'd be obsessively weighing several times a day.

:j WI Last nite....and i am :j:j delighted to report, another 2lbs off!!

    grand total, 4 stone 9.5lbs:j

last night was 7 months from my first weigh in:D

    CONGRATULATIONS :T
oohh ill have to try that mousse!

i got to target last time before EE doing mostly Green days with the odd Red day so doing a few days green will be fine with EE. i usually do G or R with a few EE days in between. i worry i'm not getting my 1/3 SF with EE. also, i love posh cheese and goats cheese and they are only HEB on green which is rather annoying.

i think my 2.5 pound loss this week was due to using the online food diary. i was cheating with my HEAs and counting posh cheese and goats cheese as an A on all days and the food diary online is very militant, it literally will not let you cheat so its very exact on what you have or haven't had. the only thing you can tweak are doing the manual syn values.

Thanks for the advice on green days.

Hi, I keep coming on here, saying I am definitely going to stick to the diet then going AWOL. Please will you have me back again?

I am currently 7lbs heavier than this time last year:( And I need to lose weight cheaply which can be a bit more difficult. We run out of vegetables and sometimes have to wait nearly a week for fresh but I am now buying cheap frozen vegetables when I do my fortnightly shop.

I can't buy the syn free yoghurts etc and am very short on healthy snack foods especially late at night when I have to eat with my meds.

Today wasn't a good start either. The allergy clinic said I shouldn't eat porridge every morning as I could cause an allergy to it!! Never heard of that one!! So today I ate the only cereal we have in the house which is not wheat (which I can't eat) and it was crunchy nut cornflakes. So I ate a bowl of them instead of porridge and have probably used my syns up for the week.

Breakfast crunchy nut cornflakes and milk from HEA allowance
Lunch ryvita, cottage cheese and cherry tomato
    Snack apple
Dinner in white sauce with roast potatoes and roasted frozen vegetables
    bedtime snack ?

Don't forget to look for reduced things in the supermarkets. I went into Morissons the other evening, and got packs of everything for 9p each - satsumas, lemon, apples, brocolli, celery, potatoes and wholemeal rolls. A few days before Tesco had grapes and tomatoes at 10% of their original price.

Well, Day1 - so far so good. Bear in mind this week is 'getting into the swing of it week' so if I'm a bit wobbly it won't matter (and we're off to my mum's Thurs and it's chip shop fish and chips for lunch.....oh dear!).

So, today, this is what I've had so far:

B- honey nut shredded wheat, 0% fat yoghurt, tinned peaches
L- HM carrot and lentil soup (includes onions, leek, celery, carrots and tomatoes) with 2 multigrain ryvita, 0% fat yoghurt
D- HM spaghetti bolognase, wholewheat spaghetti, extra lean mince, onions, garlic, red pepper, green pepper, celery and carrots, and HM tomato sauce, 28g finely grated cheddar, and green salad - lettuce, rocket, cucumber and celery.

Oh, and one (!!! go me!!!) malted milk biscuit!

The shredded wheat and 1 ryvita are my HEB, and the cheese is the HEA. Anything not on EE I have 'syned'

We eat pretty well anyway, but this has really focused me on the healthy side of healthy eating....I wouldn't usually have salad with spag bol, but I filled about half my plate with the salad and then only had half the plate for the spag bol (I didn't have half a plate's worth though!!)

I am giving myself 12 syns a day till I get the hang of things.....so tonight I have enough for a well deserved glass of wine!!

I have 'click and collect'ed my scales so will pick them up from John Lewis tomorrow pm ready to weigh (pre-fish and chips!) Thursday morning.....I can guess it won't be good, but this gives me a couple of days to brace myself for the reality!!!

The leftover bolognase will be chillied up for jacket potato toppings (freezer) and to stuff a red pepper for tomorrow's lunch.

I have been meal planning since just before xmas, and I know this is going to help me loads at keeping to the plan without wasting money on extra diety food for me - I will fit as much around what the kids will eat on the days we all eat together as possible!

Thank you for the warm welcome....am off to clean the bombsite of a kitchen, then it's kids in bed and hello Mr Vino!!!

    Rae xx

I agree this is a good plan, but DH travels abroad alot for work so the scales are handy to have for checking the weight of his luggage.....I'm quite good at not weighing constantly, I will record once a week, but probably check mid week to keep an eye on things.....having said that, I have a feeling the number is going to be so high I won't want to get on them anyway!!!!

    Evening all,

Congrats to all the loosers so far this week. I had my WI yesterday and I lost 2lbs, which makes it 7lbs in 2 weeks :j.

Had a bit of an  :T day today, I'll try to explain. Me and OH saw the advert for the M&S valentines meal deal a few days ago and said we would treat ourselves to it, then I said that maybe instead we could spend the £20 on some really good steak and a special dessert, as after somehow managing to stick to the plan 100% for 2 whole weeks I didn't really fancy throwing it all away on a bottle of wine that I don't really need (I don't drink very often, so didn't see the point in wasting my syns).
So we went to tesco and spent £12 on some HUUUGE steaks and bought a toffee flapjack pie thing, that sounded delish. So we had our beautiful steak (my god it was good!!), SW chips, mushrooms, peas and some beans - 0 syns :j, then we had the flapjack thing, which I was really looking forward to, the first proper nice dessert in 2 weeks and it was really disappointing, I has about half of it and instead of eating it anyway because it was there, I actually stopped and thought why should I waste my syns on something that I'm not really enjoying and I actually LEFT half of it , I don't know who was more shocked - Me or OH!!!
On one hand I'm  because I was really looking forward to a delicious pudding, and on the other hand I'm :T:j:A for leaving it. At least some good came out of it, as now I won't be tempted to have any of the leftovers tomorrow, the kids can finish that off!
I didn't have any syns last night, or any other syns today, so I hope the unecessary damage has been limited.
I had a go at the half syn cake yesterday and there's still some in the fridge, I bloomin well wish I'd had that instead!!

  • Cande i find myself doing that now, i think of things in terms of "i can eat this one thing or all of these other ones that i like more" when i buy things.

if i want things now i try and make sure i feel the syns are really worth it. i had some alcohol last night and a pizza after WI and its cost me 31 syns. i was thinking of counting it as a blow out night/flexible syns but i really want my half stone award so i don't want to blow it on a random pizza and wine. tbh, i don't think it was all worth what I've paid for it!

Evilsquid - I was soooo annoyed after I ate it, as I really felt nothing for it at all, I did eat the 2 bits of flapjack that were on the top, and wished that i had only had them as they were the nicest bit of it.
I was getting really quite aggrevated about it until I realised that it meant that I wouldn't go anywhere near the rest of it that's in the fridge, whereas if we'd had something like cheesecake (mouth watering), then I wouldn't have been able to resist.
Oh well lesson learnt, and who'd have thought it that I would be saying that I wish I'd had my diet 'cake' instead of a full fat dessert!!

    well done losers :j
I fell off the tank :o, have not had a good week and its only Tuesday :p. Weekend was bad and today was worse, can't even blame it on Valentines as we don't believe in all that. Love my Hubs 365 days so there are no special days [if you see what I mean] feel the same about Mothers/Fathers day too. [Bah Humbug :rotfl:]
Ok so am fully expecting a gain this week and only myself to blame [or * fairies].
Oh do have a big bag of galaxy counters right beside me and have had about 45 today and DON'T feel the need for more so thats a GOOD thing isn't it? Only good thing I can think of thats happened last few days lol.

That SHOULD say 4 Or 5 not 45, now wonder it don't make sense lol
Its not what you do but the way that you do it, thats what get results :T

  • WI last night and i maintained.

In the grand scheme of things i shouldn't be disappointed - but I am. I didn't make weigh-in last week cos I had a stomach bug so effectively I have maintained for 2 weeks.

I know I have been poorly and since i stopped being ill I have looked after DD2 who has had the same bug, only worse, but I still feel deflated!

I am only just feeling OK now - over a week since I was ill! I haven't walked or cycled in that time, just slept or vegged infront of the telly.

    I know i'm being ridiculous......

It doesn't help that we have another temporary consultant - the 3rd since our leader left last October. We have now met our new leader - she is now doing the weigh ins and will take over in a month - but we have felt a bit neglected in the last few months...

So onward and upward this week - I have my first ever mammogram to look forward to this afternoon..
    :jFlylady and proud of it:j
