Yep the ones with currants and seeds in. I've never really noticed the currants so there can't be many in there. Its more like a chewy bit that you find rather than a currant.. got to be honest i love Ryvita in any shape or form!!

    Debs - good idea

SF Jelly - made with yogurt and water so they are like milk pudding - syn free (or qtr of a syn)

Actifry chips/wedges - we have these at least once a week on SW or not

Cheese and potato pie - with a HEa of cheese

mmmm and my fave - Pulled Pork which i found on the Slimming eats website, Heb for a wholemeal roll.. This was something we had in Memphis when we visited and to find a SW recipe that tastes nearly the same was just the best!!

I would love to get an Actifry, might have to invest some time!
back from WI, I've lost 2.5 pounds :) undone all the gain and then done some extra. most importantly I'm back under 12 stone so I'm :j

still not heard back re consultant.

debsjc whats the SW choc mousse? i've never heard of that before!

i love the scan bran ferrero rocher too :)

    my faves are:

SW Chips chop up potatoes, boil in salt water for 10 mins, spray a baking tray with fry light, drain potatoes and put on tray, spray with more fry light then cook at 200 for 20 mins.

Highlights hot choc 2 syns a sachet and i add a dash of HEA milk in it too.

camembert on toast Green HEB serving of camenbert on HEB wholemeal toast. one of the most decadent things i eat :)

Camembert pasta cook pasta. in little dish put Green HEB camembert, garlic, shallot with optional olive oil (HEB or syn). bake the cheese mix in high oven until melted. when pasta cooked, drain and put in shallow bowl then drizzle melted cheese mix all over top. this can be very rich if the cheese isn't spread around.

Goats cheese salad HEB serving of goats cheese with a ready made salad, usually one with rocket and spinach in as opposed to lettuce ones. drizzle low fat dressing on top.

Bacon, beans and cheese patented hangover cure cut bacon into strips, fry in fry light, open can of beans and add to bacon pan, mix then add a HEA serving of cheese (i use the laughing cow triangles, if you use the low fat ones then its lovely and cheesy and if i use the very low fat i use 2 or 3 and keep the rest for snacks later on). add pepper and serve it on a HEB slice of wholemeal.

Philly pasta cook pasta then add a HEA/B serving of philly. its a really quick simple cheesy pasta sauce.

Sweet potato wedges chop sweet potato up into wedges, put in dish. add fry light/HEB oil, salt, herbs (e.g.: pepper, paprika, rosemary, oregano etc) then cook at 180 for 30 mins/until done. i find they usually take a bit longer to cook.

Mugshots they are a brill snack! they are free but the cheesy one is nasty (and syned) and the thai one is gorge but 2 syns a sachet.

I LOVE camembert. I've never done green, but I might have to have a green day or two, just to try those ideas out!

Is it OK just to one or two green days a week, and the rest EE?
I can't really do red days, as lack of carbs triggers migranes with me.

There is a Choc Mousse is on the SW website - but my version is mix in a bowl ...100g Quark, 400g fat free fromage frais, 2 sachets of Highlights hot choc, 2 tablespoons of sweetener. Divide into 4 individual glasses and chill - 4 syns for the lot, 1 per portion.

The Ferroro Rocher, there are some ideas here
    http://www.minimins.com/slimming-world-recipes/109943-scan-bran-recipe-thread.html

But the one did was ...blitzed 5 scan bran in the processor, until they are in crumbs. Warm 3 tablespoons on Nutella in the microwave for 10 seconds to soften, add a tablespoon of diet coke (or water) and mix all together. Then roll into little balls, or put into paper cake cases (like little crispy cakes) and chill.

oohh ill have to try that mousse!

i got to target last time before EE doing mostly Green days with the odd Red day so doing a few days green will be fine with EE. i usually do G or R with a few EE days in between. i worry i'm not getting my 1/3 SF with EE. also, i love posh cheese and goats cheese and they are only HEB on green which is rather annoying.

i think my 2.5 pound loss this week was due to using the online food diary. i was cheating with my HEAs and counting posh cheese and goats cheese as an A on all days and the food diary online is very militant, it literally will not let you cheat so its very exact on what you have or haven't had. the only thing you can tweak are doing the manual syn values.

I agree - I'm back to using the Food Dairy (only 1.5lbs off for me though). Helped me see my 'disastrous' lunch on Sat wasn't so bad after all = ok I still came in at 24 sys for the day, but at least it was controlled & not followed by 'sod-it Sunday' :rotfl:.

My favourite is brekkie - fruit (lots of variety), fat free Greek yog or ordinarly fat free yog & HEB cereal. Much more filling than using milk, plus no syns used/HEA lost and cereal stays crunchy so seems to go further.

Poached eggs - with mash & spring onions & a bed of spinach :D, or over a warm bacon salad :D.

Any of the curries from the book are great too :)
A positive attitude may not solve all your problems, but it will annoy enough people to make it worth the effort

shala_moo, I've been pondering whether I should buy an Actifry, can I ask your opinion of it please?

Well i looooveeee chips.. i could eat them everyday so for me it's a god send :rotfl:

The chips are a lot softer and more moist than when done in the oven, however i would say don't expect them to taste like deep fried chips either.

I use it to make wedges, chips and also cubed potatoes (like Frankie and Benny's seasoned things). you can add spices and herbs whilst cooking so you can do spicy wedges etc...

Apparently you can cook different meats in there too but i haven't tried that.

I have many kitchen gadgets, and this is one of my faves, but i would say it is expensive and if you only use it once a month or so it may not be worth it. It is quite big as well...

I think there's a new product out on the market that works in the same way.. it looked a bit smaller.. i'll be back with a link...

    http://www.amazon.co.uk/PHILIPS-Collection-AirFryer-HD9220-fryer/dp/B004DI7EG8/ref=sr_1_3?s=kitchen&ie=UTF8&qid=1329206731&sr=1-3

This is it, but a lot more expensive than the actifry!

Morning all - thought I'd give you a smile this morning. My hubby had been warned not to buy me chocolates for Valentines Day (he refuses to buy flowers as they double in price for today then are reduced tonight!) so I was very surprised to see a wrapped present beside my card this morning. Inside was.......... a packet of Ryvita. Gotta love him :rotfl:
    Mortgage Aug 22 £280,000
    Current mortgage  £28,000

  • My favourite food - S/W chilli - I love it!

And I cook it in the slow cooker too - i do it on the day I have my book group, secure in the knowledge that i can come home and flop on the settee after I've shoved some jacket spuds in the oven!

  • Morning All,

I'm back (AGAIN) if you'll have me? I have moved twice since I was last on here which has been a nightmare for the healthy eating and exercise. However, I am now all settled in a proper abode with a proper kitchen whoo hoo! So back on it.

I am returning to a group tonight for a little extra kick up the behind. Then hopefully once I get back to target I can just go once in a while. I am running a lot again so hopefully that will help as well. I will try and catch up on the thread but it might take a while.

Hope you all have a Happy Valentines Day x

    Morning all :hello:

Hope you are all well today, Happy Valentines Day!! My DH is backshift so I have a lovely meal planned for tonight.

    B – Fruit & FF Nat yoghurt
    L – Chicken & broccoli Gratin. mullerlight
    D –
Starter - Portobello mushroom marinated in EV Olive Oil (HEB), chillies, lemon juice & parlsey, stuffed with mozzarella cheese (HEA) & cooked under the grill
Main - Steak, Potatoes, SW peppercorn sauce, mushrooms,3 breaded onion rings (5 syns), large salad with ff vinagarette.
No dessert for me as I will probably be stuffed!!

A glass or two of the fizzy stuff may also be served although its weigh in tomorrow and am not sure how I have done this week
My favourite food - S/W chilli

    - I love it!

And I cook it in the slow cooker too - i do it on the day I have my book group, secure in the knowledge that i can come home and flop on the settee after I've shoved some jacket spuds in the oven!

Thats in my meal planner for this month, can't wait to try, I too am going to do it in the SC :D

Medmum & Shala_moo PM me if you want a copy of the spreadsheet, I got it from this site a few years ago, its based on a weekly shop but I print my 4 lists off and collate into one. It does take time to input ingredients for recipes but for me it is a godsend! I also do the shop online and usually find some sort of code for delivery.

As I am new to SW, so far, my favourties are

Butter chicken, SW quick chicken n rice stir fry and broccoli & chicken gratin, (supposed to be turkey but u used chicken), mexican bake....oh and the lemon cous cous fish was AMaaaazing!!

This month, I plan to try out the SW chilli, diet coke and lemon chicken (although I am not a fan of sweet n sour type food so we shall see how that goes). There are a few other things I want to try, I have all the recipes in a folder but cannot remember them off hand!
