Heading for winter with Slimming World

Hi folks, I am not a new member, actually a very old member who has forgotten her password so had to open a new account : (
Like Poobear59 I am a returning slimming world addict who is heavier than I have ever been, not really due to no smoking, due entirely to eating loads of crap since I stopped smoking!!
I tried the celebrity slim for a couple of weeks but was stttaaarrrvvviiinnggg.
So in the first throws of it I bought loads of Aitkins bars as snacks.
Can anyone help me out please, I need to find the syns for these. Or can they be used for breakfast?
Aitkins daybreak - Cappuccino Nut - 37 g bar -
Per 100g
Protein 31
carb 31.3
fat 22
Aitkins Endulge - Crispy Milk Chocolate - 30g bar
Per 100g
Protein 13
carb 48
fat 32
Many thanks in advance, and up the loosers. : )
to put it through the syns calculator we need the calories aswell!:jFlylady and proud of it:j0 -
if you all want a second HEB have you tried green or red days? you get 2 A and 2 B on those days. it might shake things up a bit for you and as it limits meat or carbs you might loose a little bit quicker. plus there is no 1/3 SF rule so a massive steaming bowl of just pasta is perfectly fine!
has anyone else seen on the online diaries that they haven't changed the colour codes for egg and low fat dairy? they are still SF orange! i looked the other day and thought i'd had loads of SF then i realised about 3 things should really be a diff colour lol.0 -
Hi Poohbear welcome back..
To do SW cheaply i'd stick to green days that way you can have your two heathy extras and it limits the amount of expensive meat you're using..
Vegetable stews, potato & spinach curry, lentil dhal, pasta bakes, hm soup etc can all be done quite cheaply.
i also used to have the pudding rice for breakfast.. using yogurt to thicken it.. can you let us know the reason you can't buy the syn free yogurts? is it cost or are you intolerant to yogurt? A tub of low fat natural yogurt is 55p and has 500g in it.. syn free...
Swwifie - well done for giving up smoking for a start.. i'm sure we can get you back on track with your weight loss..Mortgage amount at 31/12/2011 £166,050 now £0 as at Sept 21 - 15yrs 4 months early.0 -
Hello everyone! I hope you don't mins another SW newbie joining you? I have been trying to read the whole thread but given myself a headache in the process!! You are so supportive of each other, what I've read so far is very inspiring, thank you.
I'm not joining SW as I can't get to classes regularly (DH works away alot so can't be sure of being home the same night each week), so I'm flying solo, so to speak! My SIL lost a couple of stone doing SW and swears by it, even though she's now ill (lymphoma) and another friend has recently started and says it's great. I have the book and figure the rest is bound to be out there on the internet somewhere!
I am an old WW, done in between babies, and have struggled to get my head round a different system, but I'm liking the idea behind Extra Easy and think it will fit round feeding a family too (I have three kids, 8,6 and 3 though all have birthdays in the next couple of months). I should have bothered to lose weight before I had number 3 but I took the approach that I might as well do it after (having come out of 1 and 2 maybe half a stone heavier than pre-babies.....) Anyway, number three arrived at 11lb 8oz and funnily enough I was left with quite a bit more than half a stone to worry about!!! As he's turning 4 in April, I figure now is the time to crack on....I'm the heaviest I've ever been, and in total would like to lose about three stone. I'm being realisitc, with a dodgy back I can't exercise it off which is what I would have done years ago, and I'm unlikely to ever get back to the weight I was when we got married 12 years ago, but I would like to get down to a size 12/14 from the 14/16/18 I am now.
This week is half term, and DH is away (typical!) so I'm using this week to start getting into it, need to go and buy some scales this afternoon as it would help to know the damage before I start properly!! I'm not a fruit lover, but will try and make the effort, but veggies and green salads are OK so will be aiming to use these for the 1/3 superfree as much as poss.
I may not post every day, but will read and try to keep up with you all!!0 -
rae18 welcome!Any questions - ask away!:jFlylady and proud of it:j0

Hi Rae18, I'm sure you'll get lots of help and support on here, also those of us with access to the online syns calc are happy to look things up for you. I've only been at it for a month but I've lost 1/2 stone and feel healthier than I have in years. Like you I can't do much in the way of exercise (arthritis and sciatica) but even so I'm finding it easy and am never hungry.
Welcome poohbear and swwife too, don't need to tell you two how good it is!
So good luck, and keep us updated with your successes (or otherwise - we're a very empathetic lot!)Oh dear, here we go again.0 -

Hi all
Gotta run again, sorry haven't been able to read any posts for ages but I hope all of you are well.
I am looking forward to a good catchup at the weekend.
I did my weigh in yesterday and I have lost the 2lbs I gained last week so am happy with that.
I hope you are all where you want to be
