Morning all - thought I'd give you a smile this morning. My hubby had been warned not to buy me chocolates for Valentines Day (he refuses to buy flowers as they double in price for today then are reduced tonight!) so I was very surprised to see a wrapped present beside my card this morning. Inside was.......... a packet of Ryvita. Gotta love him :rotfl:

Awwww...how sweet of him, my DH never buys me chocs and he has bought flowers in the past, even tho his philosophy is "they just die" but we are on a tight budget so no flowers, just cards and a nice meal :D
back from WI, I've lost 2.5 pounds :) undone all the gain and then done some extra. most importantly I'm back under 12 stone so I'm :j
    YAY!!!....Well done, thats fabulous :T:j:T:j

Well done piglet, it looks like your "slimmers block" is well and truly behind you now! And evilsquid - fab - I can only dream of an 11 at the start of my weight!

ETA Got up to the most glorious smell in the kitchen this morning - I made a butternut and pepper soup in the slow cooker yesterday and forgot to switch it off last night so it's been cooking on low ever since. Can't wait for lunch now!
Oh dear, here we go again.

hi all - you are all doing very well

well done on the losses  and hugs to those in need. piglet you are flying at the mo - well done you :D

i'm doing okay here - my SWC asked me to be on the social team so that was fun last night. my class is a bit of a social event for me, the girls are so so funny, and i come away with a smile on :)

still not really following a sw plan - but the foods i am now eating do fit in the online diary now....today i am having
weetabix, skimmed milk, sugar & banana
    home-made butternut squash soup
    noodles
i am also counting calories as my prescribed drinks are 300cals/15 syns each  . i don't want to get big on them so am trying to stay to under 1400 cals per day.......so really i am combining sw & calorie counting till i am off the drinks and eating normally again. my swc is fine with this - and i've taken a holiday so not WI for 2 weeks.

the sw soup recipes are my best options for lunch and so i have been playing around with those - the carrot & red pepper being my favourite :)

NSV - last summer i bought a pair of M&S 14 trousers in the sale - got them home and couldn't get them over my thighs......yesterday they fit perfectly :T so i'm doing something right :)

oh - and who said 'sod-it sunday' ? PMSL :rotfl: i used to have these all the time......

    good eating everyone - saidan.
    Proud mum :T

Hi, I keep coming on here, saying I am definitely going to stick to the diet then going AWOL. Please will you have me back again?

I am currently 7lbs heavier than this time last year:( And I need to lose weight cheaply which can be a bit more difficult. We run out of vegetables and sometimes have to wait nearly a week for fresh but I am now buying cheap frozen vegetables when I do my fortnightly shop.

I can't buy the syn free yoghurts etc and am very short on healthy snack foods especially late at night when I have to eat with my meds.

Today wasn't a good start either. The allergy clinic said I shouldn't eat porridge every morning as I could cause an allergy to it!! Never heard of that one!! So today I ate the only cereal we have in the house which is not wheat (which I can't eat) and it was crunchy nut cornflakes. So I ate a bowl of them instead of porridge and have probably used my syns up for the week.

Breakfast crunchy nut cornflakes and milk from HEA allowance
Lunch ryvita, cottage cheese and cherry tomato
    Snack apple
Dinner in white sauce with roast potatoes and roasted frozen vegetables
    bedtime snack ?
business mortgage £0))''(+ Barclay's business kitchen loan £0=Total paid off was £96105 PPI claimed and received £13527

:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl: We could have great fun with that any day of the week, especially Friday!!!:D

Welcome back dimbo, I'm sure you'll be fine now you've got a kitchen.

Sending you a big hug poohbear. We often talk about doing SW on a budget perhaps we can help you more specifically.

I always find it hard if I have all my HEB with breakfast (like porage or cereal) as I miss being able to have something on toast later in the day. What about having eggs or baked beans? You could try keeping bread/crackers for later in the day or buying bananas and keeping one of those to have with meds. What about making yourself some HM soup for lunches? I've been making a slow cooker full of vegetable soup (just onions, carrots and a bit of potato and parsnip) the last few weeks. I've taken to buying all my veg at Aldi or Lidl this last few weeks as I'm sick of being ripped off in Asda. Like you I always have frozen stuff and some canned as a standby.

I forget how many/who you have to cook for. Tell us what you'd really buy on SW if you could and maybe we can come up with alternatives?

Like Poobear59 I am a returning slimming world addict who is heavier than I have ever been, not really due to no smoking, due entirely to eating loads of crap since I stopped smoking!!
I tried the celebrity slim for a couple of weeks but was stttaaarrrvvviiinnggg.
So in the first throws of it I bought loads of Aitkins bars as snacks.
Can anyone help me out please, I need to find the syns for these. Or can they be used for breakfast?

    Per 100g
    Protein 31

Aitkins Endulge - Crispy Milk Chocolate - 30g bar

my mum used to have porridge every morning, and then she would have a sandwich or toast later and have to syn the bread

so i told her to change for something else, so she now has pudding rice, she makes it on water, lets it boil away, makes a big pot to do her a few days, and when she heats a portion up she adds a yoghurt, some sweetner, fruit, etc

i like it with sweetner and a splash of milk
