I haven't some across that, but have you got a microwave?
Before I roast potatoes, or make wedges, or put baked potatoes in the oven, I always soften them first in the microwave.

I just wanted to pass on a similar tip: I always soften slice/chopped onions in the microwave before frying for casseroles etc. I've always done it as it saves time but with SW I find they brown quicker in frylight than starting from raw.

edit: Changed my mind about this post so just editing it now

Had a little treat today as it was WI day. Strangely enough I didn't get that "must go mad and eat everything because I can" feeling - which was really good! Just had my little treat and got on with it. Another non-scales victory :D
  • I finally went to a meeting yesterday to get the new pack. The consultant was lovely, unfortunately couldnt stay for the whole group as had to get back and look after DD but i did get the newbies talk. Originally went just to get my grubby paws on the new pack but think i might go back for the motivation.

If your consultant is good it may well be worth the money!

  • Morning all!

My food diary has been interesting this week, my ex-consultant friend has been helping me and I did some meal planning. She also suggested I try and stick to 10 syns a day.

Monday was an EE day, 12 syns
Tuesday was a green day, 2 syns
Wednesday was green too, 10 syns
    Thursday was EE, 8 syns
Friday was EE but heavy on the syns as it was someone's birthday at work (I will admit to a caramel eclair and a cupcake, total 31 syns). Total syns so far this week 63 so I have 7 left for this weekend if I need them.

WI is on Monday but I'm off work for a few days as Tuesday is my birthday. Monday we're going to see my parents and are going out to lunch (but I should be able to have a jacket potato). Tuesday DH and I are going to La Tasca for their Valentine's Day menu. I'll try and count syns! I don't know what we'll be having that night for dinner, but Wednesday will be straight back on plan if not Tuesday night.

It's bitterly cold here, it was -7C last night... keep warm everyone!:j Some of this should help...

I lost 2.5lbs, so am up 0.5 as I put the 2lb on last week!! I think it must be the fruit in my case which affects my weight loss, I have cut it back this week and all else was reasonably the same, except no mid week wine with the girls so that would have helped too. So, back on track now, cooking chips for everyone tonight but mine will be SW.

*Dizzy slinks in the room - her head hung soooo low its practically dragging on the floor!*

Well done to those of you who are losers this week :T
Hugs to those who are poorlies or struggling :A

and hello to anyone who Ive not yet met

Well I'm here folks smiley-ashamed005.gif but I appear to have lost my way a little bit.....
and the Dizzy tank sodded off & left me behind last week smiley-confused013.gif

I'm not making excuses.....well I am making excuses :rotfl: I've been rubbish all week, and being stuck up at BILs doggie sitting because of the snow meant even Mr Dizzy couldnt get there when he got discharged from hospital:mad: He had to stay at his sisters for 3 days.
Sooo Dizzy here sought comfort in the fridge & freezer & its terrible contents :o not a great start to being back on plan!

I really am terrible without the support of going to group (and the threat of the 'scales of doom' every Thursday)
and being without the internet all week is doing my nut in a bit too now....I can't just jump on here and get some motivation from you lovely lot like I used to.

With this in mind - I'm going to try my best to get someone to give me a lift to group somehow this week, I'm just praying that we don't get any more snow this week up there as its really out in the sticks at the best of times.

Well I'm going to get some of my ironing done now, MrD has instructions NOT TO MOVE UNLESS ITS URGENT - with the ironing board out & both of us on crutches there is not a lot of room at the moment :rotfl::rotfl:

Hi all.. not had much time to pop on the last few days..

Dizzy - i feel for you with no internet - can you not get a pay as you go dongle for when you are at BIL's, infact i'd make him buy it for you as you are being so kind to look after his dogs even though you don't need the extra pressure at the moment...

I've had a sneaky look on the scales this morning and i've lost 3.5 of the naughty lb's i put back on :T hopefully this'll stay off until Monday. Only 1lb till i get back in the 13's...

Tonight we're having a fakeaway treat.. but i've made it SW friendly as much as possible - so green day today for me

    B - 2 x toast (2 for marmalade)
L - jacket and cheese (hea) and bit of pasta n sauce, crisps(4)
T - KFC fake away (Heb) no skin on the chicken and flour synned, fries in actifry with fry light, coleslaw and corn on the cob

Not sure how many syns the fakeaway will be - approx 15??? only flour and coleslaw needs synning i think.

For next week i need to keep a diary as I never know how many syns i've had weekly. I know some days this week i've been over but i also know some days i've been under, it would be nice to keep track a bit more :o

Evening all. not a bad day for me so far:
    B - banana
Lunch - noodles with stir fry (turkey, spring onions, carrots, red peppers, garlic, ginger & soy sauce)
S - 2 dairylea light triangles (part HEA)
Dinner - grilled steak, charlotte potatoes & brocolli; 2 pears; frozen mint mullerlight (this was fab and as it had been in freezer overnight was rock solid and took me an hour to eat).

Plan to have some more fruit as a snack this evening which should take me up to my 1/3 superfree.... and most importantly a wine free night!!

Dizzy you are only human and coping with all you have been through/going through sw is the last thing to be worrying about. You know you can lose weight when you are back to 'normal'. Oh and for gawds sake get your BIL to either board his dogs or pay a more able [no offence to you my lovely but you have more than enough on your plate [no pun intended :D] to cope with] person to look after them. Or at least get you a dongle/internet set up.
Chin up sweetheart, you will get there :A
