Hi All
I hope you are all well, a bit late posting meal plan but here it is:
B - Vanilla Mullerlight, banana & blueberries
L - HM Chicken broth, 4 x melba toasts (2), grapes
D - Chicken stir fry using up all spongy veg in fridge
S - Kiwi, apple.
HEA & HEB - 3 x Ryvita with LC Light when I get peckish tonight
My cousin is having her engagement party tomorrow night, she has asked me to do Mars Bar Cakes & wee mallow cake things I do, around 100 of each . I am not a chocolate person but LOVE mars bar cake so its going to be hard not to lick that spoon and even harder to resist a nibble. I will only be having salady and cold meat things at the buffet and will be on the diet Irn Bru all night, am taking the car so DH can have a few beers :T. I am saving myself for a lovely meal on Valentines day, which will be relatively syn free as we are having steak and potatoes with lotsa veg but need to keep some syns for a wee glass of bubbly and couple of onion rings
MedMum - Where in Scotland are you visiting, its not too bad here at the moment, cold but bearable, well for us hardened Scots anyway
Evisquid - Good luck with the interview:TGratitude is the best Attitude :T
Long Term Flylady0 -
Evilsquid- really hope the interview is going well
macpep1 - You are really good still making those cake, I think I might have been temtped to pass that job onto somone else! I'm sure one lick of the spoon won't do too much harm.
MMum - 1 squares from a 140g bar is 1.5 syn ...so similar to that :-)0 -
Afternoon all - its a bit parky here today, the roads are like an ice rink because it's been drizzling on top of frozen ground - brr.
I've just polished off last night's homemade curry and rice and it was damn good if I may say so myself! I am actually really enjoying cooking stuff from scratch whereas I was always a buy loads of jars type body before. The curry tasted very like Patak's balti which is a firm favourite in this house but it was free instead of 22 syns in a jar!
OH and the kids want some southern fried chicken things and chips that are in the freezer tonight so I think I'll make a piece of salmon baked in the oven with lemon, charlotte potatoes and green beans for me. Usually we all eat the same but they're allowed a night off every now and then
Hope the flight was OK MM and good luck ES - we're waiting to hear how you got on.Mortgage Aug 22 £280,000
Current mortgage £28,0000 -
Thanks Debs - not as bad as I'd feared and still within my syns for the day.
K&F glad to hear that you've gotten into cooking from scratch. I was similar to you - open the freezer door and see what falls out! I was cooking everything just two weeks ago and then last week I couldn't bear the thought of peeling another vegetable! I've hardly had a salad or more than a HM soup made from frozen veg in about 10 days. I'll get back into it but I was sick of it so had to get over the slump.
Not gone anywhere yet - leaving Saturday night but thanks anyway.Mediterranean Mum

Today is a rostered day off for me, and I haven't stopped.
Cleared the fridge out to make room for all my SW stuff. Got a lemon chicken casserole in the slow cooker, not for today but for the rest of the week. Just made the SW choc mousse, and put 4 portions of that in the freezer. Cooked lunch, and prepared dinner. Just going to squeeze in 30 mins on the Wii fit, then off to see if i can find any reduced meat, salmon or fruit at the supermarket.
I have 3 night shifts starting tomorrow, which will be a nightmare food wise. I used to I munch sarnies, twiglets all night, with a chocolate hit as well.
All I can do is get as prepared as possible today, so I have easy healthy food in, and fruit and SW friendly nibbles to take into work.0 -
Please can anyone tell me how many syns in 60g of soft scoop vanilla icecream, tis in a block from Tesco, just a basic one. I'm guessing 5.5 syns (totally worth it, I've got a very sore throat).0

I don't get home from work until 6.30 most nights, by which time I am starving and can't bear to be stood in a kitchen. So, when the mood takes me (mostly weekends), I do a batch cook of lots of different things, currys for husband, chicken casseroles for me etc. - chop loads of veg, make masses of food, put it in the plastic chinese containers that I save (makes me feel bad at how many chineses we have had! :rotfl:) put a label on, put the syns on and then it goes into the freezer. I love it, the kitchen is like a bombsite but its only once or twice a month not every night and I always have a home cooked meal available to take out of the freezer in the mornings.0 -

In an ideal world that's what I would do too Ammonite and I do cook on Friday for all weekend and a bit more. However I have chronic back problems with degenerative discs which means that I can't stand for long periods of time. I've tried sitting to peel veggies but it's not very comfortable. Just to add insult to injury my kitchen work surface and sink are too low for me so the way that I have to stand over them gives me severe pains down my legs too. It's actually easier on my back to prepare one meal at a time!Mediterranean Mum

i'm back! they said they'll let me know their answer in a few days.
It went ok i think, they were all really nice. i think the only things that will let me down are that i got to target, put on loads and I've not been back long and all of a sudden appeared asking for consultant, whilst clearly having been job-hunting for a full time job since aug with no luck. i don't know if they'll think I'm doing it just to have any job. also, i think I'm noticeably younger than most of the other consultants. they all seem to be at least 10 years older than me so i suppose it depends if they want a younger consultant or prefer older people.
they seemed impressed i'd got to target, got two degrees and that i played the flute. they were really impressed with me doing the great manchester run twice too and all the stuff i do at cadets. cadets quite clearly answered all the leadership and development type questions i got and the fact I've already done leafleting and posters and supermarket bag packs for cadet recruitment so i already know what promotion involves and what its like went down well.
they said my "before" photos look nothing like me anymore and you can see it in my face that the weight from this summer has already gone. they also said the photo of me at target a few years ago was nothing like me.
i made sure i did a printed personal statement type thing and i printed my full CV off for them so all the stuff i wanted to say and prob didn't is there for them somewhere. fingers crossed it did go well!0 -
Sounds like it went well Evilsquid and wishing you all the luck.Mediterranean Mum
