Unlike the UK I can take liquid from here so maybe I'll take hard boiled eggs and cut up vegetables for breakfast on the plane and then I'll take a flask of soup and a sandwich for lunch when I arrive in Amsterdam. If I also take plenty of fruit that should see me through the snack times and by the time I get to my Mum's I'll be starving! I've already put in my dinner request for that evening
Not to put you off taking your nice food but be careful with eggs on a plane.. my friend took egg sandwiches on a flight and stunk out the whole cabin with eggy smells.. the other passengers weren't pleased.. i obviously found it hilarious :rotfl:Mortgage amount at 31/12/2011 £166,050 now £0 as at Sept 21 - 15yrs 4 months early.0 -
Hi mm:wave: I'd go with the pasta salad. That's what I did last time I flew plus some fruit and a sandwich. I did roast veg (peppers, mushrooms, tomatoes, aubergine, red onion, garlic) and stirred it into cooked pasta and I think ('cos I'm greedy) I stirred in a tin of red beans as well. I think it was quite 'wet' enough but you could always add a bit of tomato puree if needed. I thought the frittata/tortilla idea was good too as potatoes will help fill you up.0

Thanks everyone for all your ideas and yes I agree about the eggs!!!!!
Anyway WI today and I'm down a measly 1lb but I'm fine with it as I haven't been 100% on plan since last weekend's disaster so I deserve it - still catching up with the big gain I had a couple of weeks ago. I now won't be weighing in again for two weeks until I get back.Mediterranean Mum
hoping to lose 50lb by February 2013! 2st lost so far :j0 -
Morning,
Happy flying MM!
Right, I'm going out for lunch today, it's something I do about every 6 weeks with an old friend I never get to see in between. It always involves lots of wine and lunch somewhere in between. Now, the actual food might not be too bad, if we go where we normally do I always go for the halloumi with pea cous cous salad anyway as its sooo yum. So, I figure if I use all my HE's (on green) for the cheese, then I should be only paying for the oil it is cooked in. I can't remember if the salad is dressed but ill ask for it on the side if it is. But the wine will exceed my syns for the day, I had no syns yesterday, and I figure if I have none or little tomorrow I might be OK...then again, maybe not. However, I refuse to let my life be ruled by a diet, as much as I want to be slimmer (and more importantly, healthier) I work hard and need to enjoy my 'down time'! So will have a as yet undecided no-low syn late brekkie and then enjoy!!
I did WI this morning, to a loss of 2.3 pounds, and 3% body fat loss). Happy days!!!
Have a good day to all.0 -
LauraChick - well done on the loss and enjoy your lunch and wine with your friend. You are right, SW in a long term plan and it is unrealistic to think that you will never go over syns. If you are careful about what you eat and breackfast and dinner then enjoy your lunch and wine and have a good time.
MM - happy flying and I hope you find something to take and eat to keep you going on the plane.
WI for me this morning and 1 pound loss, I know I should be pleased that it is a loss but it is coming off sooooo slowly and I was completely on plan this week, syns under 10 and lots of SF and SS foods and still only 1 pound offStill onwards and upwards, I will stick with it and hope for another loss next week rather than a sts which seems to be the pattern at the moment.

Happy Flying Med Mum!
Been on the scales every day this week, it has motivated me for seeing 1/4 pounds come off every day. I wasn't as good as I probably should have been yesterday, only a few syns over and no exercise and I braved the scales.....1.5lb off ! Very happy as it is 7lb off in total for me now. Wish I had been this motivated from the start then maybe it would be more! Oh well, my first target was to lose 10lb by 17th Feb (trying to be realistic!) so doing quite well0 -

However... i'm now getting married this year :j and so need to get back on the dizzy tank for sure. I hope you'll have me back
My online membership has lapsed but will sort that out tonight. Untill then i'll guess at syn values...

Hi FMOW, sorry missed your post yesterday.. welcome back

Your day seems ok - is it a red day? The only thing is that you're missing your second HEA... usual advice which i'm sure you already know, measure your healthy extras, fill up with free foods/snacks and drink loads of water.
Good luck on your journey x

hi all
mm your plans for the UK sound nice - but it is cold here at the mo
i've had a week off plan - and gained 2lb - so there must be something good about me sticking to it, even if i feel that i'm failing most of the time....
saw the hospital consultant - and we decided that i need to increase the food i can eat, and so to have the calorie drinks if needed but otherwise build up the eating really gently. so am trying to get back into it slowly.
i've booked 2 weeks off SW classes to get my head back around it all, to work with the dietician to see what is realistic on the plan etc.
seems lots of people are loosing slowly at the moment - this cold weather doesn't help does it.

Nice to hear from you Saidan and hopefully you and the dietician will sort things out soon.
Thanks everyone for the good wishes. Hopefully I'll still be able to check in here every day while I'm away.Mediterranean Mum

saidan that sounds like a great plan. exciting that you can eat more food too
A 2lb gain isn't so bad at all given the situation you are in, keep your chin up x
