The mint mullers are lush if you stick them in the freezer for a few hours - taste like mint vienetta!

  • Hi Everyone - it's been a very long day - 1st mtg today was a 7am and it's just been a constant run around since then including trying to get as much of my desk cleared before I finish up on Friday to go away.

It's been a bit of a mixed bag day for me. Today here is the New Year of Trees. It's not a biblical festival but a big celebration of new fruits and the main celebratory part of it is a meal in which we eat a selection of 15 fruits and nuts and drink 4 cups of wine to celebrate the changing seasons. People celebrate in different ways including planting new trees.

I tried to incorporate the fruits and nuts into my cooking this evening so as not to go overboard. Most of the fruits are dried which are obviously very calorific but instead of buying huge quantities as I've done in the past I literally bought the smallest portions of each to be symbolic more than anything else.

I didn't even try to work out the syns and am just basically writing off today and getting back on track tomorrow. The rest of today was fine and I seem to have sorted myself out with my early morning Tuesdays which is good.

Well done Piglet on breaking the plateau - very very happy for you.

    See you all tomorrow x

Just been for my WI and I lost just 1lb. After loosing 7.5lb last week it was so disappointing. I only expected 2-3lb, but 1 hardly seems all the effort. I've been on plan all week, and done a total of 3 hrs 10 mins excercise.

debs I know just how you feel, I lost 4 lbs my first week then 1/2 lb the second. It's so disheartening, but try not to be down about it, apparently it's quite normal.
Oh dear, here we go again.

debsjc - massive loss usually happens in the first week or two, don't know many people who have lost more than 7-8lb in their first two weeks then it tapers off to 0.5-2lb a week - so WELL DONE for continuing to lose. I often think the flab needs a bit of time to shuffle round, bet you would notice a difference if you took your measurements

Piglet - WOW!!!!!!!! Well done you! So proud of you and happy for you! That is what I lack, determination, if I stopped losing I'd just think "s*d it" and eat my way back up. I need some of your determination!!! It has paid off too :D:D:D:D:D

Being a flippin' angel this is day 3 of goodness and the scales are going the right way finally! Need to keep it up for about another 100 days at least! Been tracking my calories too out of interest and trying to keep them "positive" for the day i.e. not more than 1200 cals - interestingly, when sticking to the plan, I seem to go between 1200 and 1400 per day but with all my exercise, it seems to be evening itself out so hoping for a loss this week. I know cals don't matter on slimming world, but I was just interested (read: geek!)

weight loss is a marathon not a sprint - andit can take several weeks for your body to get used to it! Please don't get disheartened!

Missed weigh in for the first time ever! I had a stomach bug last night - I was mostly locked in the bathroom! And this was our first week with another interim consultant! Grrr!

Hopefully I'll be able to eat tomorrow...

Hello all. Had a rough few days - have lost the baby and comfort eating has taken its toll. (Loss wasn't unexpected as I have a history of it, but still). Anyway, I am drawing a line under it and have made a promise to myself not to get crazy about it because clearly I just needed to let off steam. Not going to weigh for a few days to try and balance out the shedload of syns ingested over the past few days. :(
  • Big hugs to you Sarah xxx
