Just a quick question – has anyone tried the magic pancakes recipe that’s going around at the moment?

35g porridge oats (heb) soaked overnight in a mullerlight. Next morning add in 3 eggs and sweetner to taste and make a batter. Fry in frylight until golden brown on both sides. Serve with fresh fruit and yogurt.

Our consultant has had a discussion with various people and decided it’s not an abuse of food.. just wondering whether to waste a yogurt and eggs trying it!!

in the same way....if you were really bold one week......and think you were lucky to stay the same....but then continue to be bold the next week....then all of a sudden you have a gain of 3lbs....i think it works both ways in that respect sometimes.

I totally agree with you. I think whatever you do catches up eventually: good or bad! :T on the 3lb!

debsjc, why do you need to find a way of making scanbrans palatable? Are you just trying to use them up? I'm confused.

    My EE plan for today:
B: NAS squash, baked beans, HEB toast, HEA milk for teas
    L: sardines, toast, salad, pickles
D: spaghetti bolognese with loads of SF in

May have a chocolate bar later as a treat. WI on Thursday and I'm hoping to be back in target range.
  • I've reset my progress on the website, the maintain and gain just made me feel like it'd all been for nothing so far and I'm only 3 pounds lower than my start weight so i wasn't getting rid of much.

im also ditching my paper food diary notebook and using the online one on the website. i figured i cant cheat with it in any way shape or form so it'll keep me on the straight and narrow and hopefully ill ditch the gain this week!

I'm out for a meal on friday and sunday this week so I'm going to have to be really good the rest of the week. the fri is looking like pizza express and sunday is a beefeater. sun i'll have steak and use syns for peppercorn sauce and dauphioise potato but i think i'll have to skip dessert, the one i usually have is 33.5 syns according to the website! still not decided with friday. i know i'll feel bad if i forgo pizza but i might try and get pasta or something.

I thought I needed a bit of a bran intake, before weigh in today :o
Plus I did need to use them up as well.

Well done Laura, I'm a shift worker as well, and I think dieting is even harder when you work long or odd hours. I have 3 night shifts at the weekend, so that will a test with my food.

thanks guys :A for all your support an kinds words

i dont think of it as i actually lost 3lbs this week.....i think it was a combination of being really good this past few weeks.....and only loosing 0.5lb and the STS the last week.....i think all the being good finally all caught up....

in the same way....if you were really bold one week......and think you were lucky to stay the same....but then continue to be bold the next week....then all of a sudden you have a gain of 3lbs....i think it works both ways in that respect sometimes.

Congratulations Piglet, seeing how much you have lost in an inspiration.

A question for you experienced SW. I will miss my WI next Tuesday due to work, so I was going to go to another group on the Wednesday instead. If you go do a different group does it mean you can't win SOTW that week, or the next week when you go back to your own group?

when I've gone to different groups, because everything is electronic your losses travel with you so your new group knows your total loss. i should imagine that provided you fit the proviso that you had a loss/maintain the previous week that you should be eligible for it.

only issue would be if the resident members wouldn't be happy with a stranger coming in and taking their slimmer of the week so the consultant might keep that in mind.

Piglet - well done, you are such an inspiration. I am at the start of your journey weighing in at 17st 13lb at the start of Jan and it seems like such a mountain to climb but that's the first month in and so far so good - I just hope that in 6 months time I have been as successful as you.

On a different note, I think I am in love...... I have discovered new Mullerlight flavours - both the mint with choc & orange with choc are delicious! And there was me always a black cherry girl. lol
