Did a search for your post on new syn / HE values evilsquid, just want to check I read it right. Is tomato puree now free? The trouble with the world is that the stupid are cocksure and the intelligent are full of doubt.Bertrand Russell0

Sorry if this has been asked before but I would like to make Weetabix cake can I use prunes instead of sultanas or raisins? It's better to regret something I did do than to regret something that I didn’t. :EasterBun0

Hi everyone,
This might be a somewhat odd question. I lost 3 stone with slimming world a few years ago. Since then, I have put some of the weight back on but am not overweight as such, just a little heavier than I'd like to be. I've just moved to a new area and would like to join a Slimming World class here to regulate my eating habits because at the moment, I am eating anything in sight. I'd like to lose about 7lbs. Would it be ok for me to join a class? Because I am almost 6ft tall and carry my weight well, I used to get the 'you're too skinny for a class' jokes which annoyed me a little because I felt really down about my weight then and knew I was far from skinny. Any advice would be appreciated xx0 -

you should still be a target member and if you are more than 3 pounds over your PAT then you attend any class and pay for the weeks it takes you to get back to within 3 pounds of your PAT. if it was 3 years ago, you will need the new books because of the HE changes and a WI card if you don't have one.
if you want to join as a new member and do a new start type of thing, they won't let you join unless you have at least half a stone to loose so you would have to have loosing the full 7 pounds as your target. they also won't let you go below the lowest weights they accept in the tables in the books, which for 6ft is 10 stone 7, so if the 7 pounds takes you below it, they won't let you join.
one of my consultants was really iffy over my PAT when i said i felt i was happiest when i hit around just over 8 stone before i put on all my weight and wanted that as my target. my lowest acceptable was 7 stone 11 and she said she personally wouldn't let me through the door if i was to go anywhere near 8 and a half so i had to go a few over it. that said, there have been people in the mag that are my height and 8 stone :mad:0 -
Thank you so much for the info evilsquid! I will re-read when I'm more awake but it looks like I am eligible for membership since I have 7lbs to lose. I am 5"11 and about 11st 7lbs. It seems that your consultant was a bit unfair towards you. I hope you are aiming for the weight that suits you best, not your consultant. Looking forward to joining the class and more eager than ever now I'm armed with this info xx0

Thanks for replying
I will let them know I am not coming I do remember her saying something about holidays but can't really remember much other than they have to know before the end of the group.I really want to try to get us all to change how we eat but that's easier said than done so if that doesn't work I will do one meal for them and the SW version for me
Just a quick question with regards to lean meat not sure where to get it? I normally buy the extra lean mince from tesco, but everything else is normal other than healthy living mini chicken breasts, get some meat from butchers (normally beef joint and pork loin joint) then then lamb and a chicken from tesco.
Beki what I love about SW is the fact that it does so easily fit in with all the family and I'm not making separate meals. Don't you want them to be eating leaner meat, lots more veggies, pasta with healthy sauces, etc?
My youngest isn't the biggest veggie fan but I've found that some of the things he's really loving. I'm also making a lot more soups and for instance last night I made a vegetable and chickpea soup that I served in deep bowls with couscous - granted there was more couscous than soup in the bowl but he loved it and came back for seconds.
When I make meatballs these days, I use a lot of vegetables whizzed up in the blender to pad it out so there's probably about half meat and half veg in the mixture - no-one notices any difference and it's healthier for everyone.
It does take a while to get your head around everything but once you're into it you'll realise how good it is for everyone.Mediterranean Mum

OK after my blow out of Saturday night and yesterday I'm back on track. WI day is now Thursday and that will be my last one until I get back from the UK on the 23rd. Having a slight panic attack about the thought of trying to get the seat belt on the plane fastened around me but here's hoping the stone I've lost will help!

So managed to resist picking again last night. Yesterday was a very good day. Needs to be replicated today as I'm in need of a boost and want the scales to be good to me! Good luck everyone x0
