Not properly done SW for a bit so may be rusty on some specifics, please feel free to point out any glaring errors in my meal plans!!The trouble with the world is that the stupid are cocksure and the intelligent are full of doubt.Bertrand Russell0

Hello
I haven't posted on MSE for a while but I do recognise quite a few names on here
I started Slimming World last May. I gave up going to the group in September because the ladies there were not really my cup of tea, and it was all going well so I thought I didn't need to pay to go to group when I knew what I was doing? I don't regret that decision as all has been going well still and I prefere it this way, I'm not struggling with motivation.
I started off at 20st 2lb and I am now 14st 4lb. I am actually very pleased with that, even though the rate has slowed down considerably I'm happy with where I am at the mo as I feel so much happier and even though I'm 14st something I'm in a size 14 so I think I look nice (ish).
Now for the problem ~ I know the weight loss will slow down BUT ~ In the last month I've not lost a thing.
I'm trying hard not to get too fed up but I have lots of questions as to why? I'm veggie so always do a green day. I NEVER cheat. I count and weigh everything that I need to (like cereal and cheese). I always have 2 A's and 2 B's and no more. I feel that the SW way of eating as much unlimited food as I like can't possibly be true for me?
I eat LOADS of free food. Maybe I eat more than you are allowed? But Free Food is unlimited? I eat LOADS of fruit. Prob 4 apples, 4 oranges, 2 bananas, 2 kiwi, HUGE plate of veg every meal, LOADS of baked beans (sometimes 2 tins a day) often breakfast and dinner. Lots of pots, either jacket or SW chips. I also eat LOADS of FF yog (activia, Onken or shape) and make sure it is fat free. Sometimes I have 4 ff yogs in a day but it's supposed to be unlimited?
I'd just like advice from those in the know as I no longer go to group as I said so I can't ask anyone. I realise that weight loss slows down, there are monthly blips, you can't lose every week etc. but I haven't lost a thing in a month. Am I eating too much? Is it really unlimited? Sometimes I eat 2 pots of fresh pineapple a day, is that too much? Would love to know where I'm going wrong if any of you have the time to offer an opinion? I know I'm a greedy pig, but unlimited is unlimited? Or is it??
Have to go off to work so wont be able to reply again til after 4 but I'll be back online then if anyone needs me to clarify anything. To give a quick re~cap ~ I stick to the rules, but I'm no longer losing, is it all too good to be true?

It's unlimited within reason, you do need to keep an eye on portion sizes too. Remember good as fruit it and yes it's free it's also high in natural sugars.
Do you drink enough water?
It's not 'too good to be true' you do need to apply a little common sense too. Calories in versus calories out, fruit etc is good for you but it's not calorie free. The trouble with the world is that the stupid are cocksure and the intelligent are full of doubt.Bertrand Russell0 -
Breakfast: 1 weetabix, banana, coffee
Snack: yoghurt, tangerine, tea
Lunch: homemade lentil soup, 2 slices WM toast and beans
Dinner: quorn chilli, rice, cheese, salad
Treat: tea, kitkatThe trouble with the world is that the stupid are cocksure and the intelligent are full of doubt.Bertrand Russell0 -
Chin up piglet - consultant sounds terrible, its folk like her that make me too scared to go to a meeting. You are still one of my biggest inspirations!
Bit disappointed in myself this week. Found my fingers have been nibbling a bit at night again (on syn stuff that I didn't have syns for!). I find I do well on the days where I don't have carbs at every meal, but this week, I just can't do that for various reasons. Got a good 36 hours lined up, a small time off (with the word moderation in mind) for 24 hours and then back to proper red days i.e. no sandwiches or carbs for the weekend to try and salvage it.0 -
Frogga - I was just wondering if you excercise as well? It might give your metabolism a kick if you could up the activity.
I'm not an expert, but surely it must be possible to eat too much fruit, as it is quite high in sugar and calories. Veggies should be better. Personally I would have a week of cutting back on the fruit a bit, and just see what happens.
Congratulations on your amazing weight loss so far, don't forget what an amazing achievement that is :-)0 -
Thanks for the replies guys  You hit the nail on the head surely I am eating TOO much fruit? Because you're right of course it is very high in sugar, but then other SW experts have told me unlimited means exactly that, and you just eat whatever you want whenever you want? I must be more greedy than your avarage frog?:o
I don't do the gym or anything dreadful like that but I have 4 whippets that I walk each morning and each afternoon for about 2 miles each time and at the weekend they get a longer walk. Also I'm working full time and on my feet all day so I don't sit on my ample bottom all day. I don't drink water very much but I do dring black tea alot (10ish cups a day) which is just flavoured water and freeSay it once, say it loud ~ I'm an Atheist, Anti-Royalist, Socialist, Tea-Total Veggie Frog and PROUD!:D

Frogga, like debsjc and gunsandbanjos have said, i'd be looking at portion sizes and more exercise. are you genuinely that hungry? as in your stomach rumbles so you have 1 apple and then it rumbles again soon after so you have another and so on for every single snack you eat during the day?
if you are having 3 good sized meals you shouldn't really need that many extra snacks a day. free food is free as long as it satisfies your hunger. any more than that is just extra food you don't need and that you need to burn off somehow to loose weight. i bet your snacks are adding up to a 4th or maybe even 5th extra proper meal a day. thats like a whole extra days worth of food over a week.
are you eating for other reasons like thirst/boredom? try switching one snack to a cup of tea/coffee and see if that does anything or paint your nails instead.
could you try a week of eating your cereal and stopping. then if you get hungry (stomach rumbling hungry) about 11ish have one piece of fruit or one yogurt as a snack. have a decent sized meal at lunch then if you get genuinely hungry about 2/3ish have one more bit of fruit or one more yogurt. then have a good main meal and one more snack later on at 7ish if you really need it.0 -

Want to lose 50lb. 50 - 8.5 = 41.5 to go!0 -
Thankyou squid
No, I'm not hungry. I'm an emotional eater ~ I/m bored, or 'antsy' so I eat CONSTANTLY but as it was Free Food and I have still been losing I though it was ok. I guess, not anymore
Thankyou for the advice, as of today I will do exactly as you suggest. Only eat when hungry Frogga!Say it once, say it loud ~ I'm an Atheist, Anti-Royalist, Socialist, Tea-Total Veggie Frog and PROUD!:D
