    hi all

well done to the losers - and hugs to the gainers

I STS  7 green days with my very limited diet did not help my weight loss cause

AND the consultant & manager who were there said on red/green i must eat 1/3 SF........so i said well then this isn't the diet for me cos i can't do that....they back-tracked saying its different for you cos of your medical issues - but i said either we need to eat 1/3 or we don't! but i didn't get a reply

group also ran 45 minutes over - lots of people getting up and leaving but i felt that would be rude - so i text dh and stayed.....but it wasn't worth it really, every person the c talks to she says what was your favourite recipe this week? or something similar and then the person talks away for ages - when there are 40 of you to get through it's just too much.

grrrrr - so frustrated i just had 2 white bread & marmite, a cadbury chomp and a packet of monster munch

its a bit wrong if even a manager cant give a straight yes or no answer to it! i was at SW for a year before EE came in and at no point was it ever mentioned that 1/3 of everything should be superfree on R/G. even when EE first came in that rule wasn't there, it was a "suggestion" to boost your losses. id be willing to bet it came in as a rule as part of the money back guarantee so even if you ate really well and had loads of lean meat/pasta and didn't loose or didn't loose much they had a "ahhhh but you didn't get 1/3 SF!!" as a back up. thats all consultants seem to come out with now as a magical answer to gains/maintains.

my group was like that too! every person got "hows your week been?" or "whats your favourite recipe this week?" if you lost or "were you expecting it?" if you gained. her only responses to a gain were an SAS log or a syn counter. i felt like leaving too.

if i do get consultant i want to do image therapy differently if I'm allowed to. theres no point wasting an hour on idle chatter thats of no use to most of the rest of the group. id rather use it to deal with burning issues that would genuinely help the others too or talk about something useful as a group.

  • My Spicy Butternut squash and Red Pepper Soup (may be that it's already out there but I've not seen it - just adapted a Butternut squash version) The syn free version (serves 4 - 6):-

    1 Large butternut Squash, cut
    1 Red Pepper, cut
1 onion, diced, garlic clove crushed
    1/4 tsp curry powder
    1 tsp ground ginger
    salt and pepper to taste
    1 med potatoe, diced
    2 pints boiling water
    4 chicken oxo cubes

Put the butternut squash and red pepper onto baking trays and spray with oil, roast in the oven until soft and roasted (about 20 mins), mean while put the onion in a pan and gently fry until browned, add the curry powder and ginger and cook for a couple more minutes.
Put the roasted squash, pepper, potatoe and onion into a large pan, add the boiling water, seasoning and oxo cubes and cook for a further 15 - 20 mins then blast it in the blender - delicious!

To make my squash sweeter I usually add some olive oil before roasting - just syn as needed! (Oh and I have now learnt not to measure over the tray, the hard way :rotfl:)!

    Enjoy....:D

Anybody tried the butternut and red pepper soup on the website? I thought I'd make some for lunch, just wondered if it's nice.

I haven't tried the one on the website - I don't have access but the one I make above is lovely and filling!

    Enjoy FC xx

For the B choice on EE it says you can have 2 Pumpkin seed & oat Ryvita or 3 Sunflower seed and oat ones. Today I went and bought the Sunflower ones, so I could have an extra one.

When I look at the nutritional info the calories and fat are higher on those, so why would we be allowed an extra one?

Saidan - sts after 7 days green is a super achievement in my book, you are doing so well keep your chin up!

Interesting re the superfree. Basically, I do old red and green, it worked then, why won't it work now? Sure some syn values have changed due to recipe changes in tinned food for example, but nothing major! I say stick to what works for you. Like the fact I cheat at HEB's and have white Danish, its working so I'll stick with it until it doesnt!

is there a difference in the fibre content? if one is lower than the other it might be you need to eat 3 to get to the required amount to class as a HEB.

Got to say our consultant was pretty good (and it shows as she has over 100 members in each of her classes!) she never really did the thing of going round each person UNLESS no one was willingly talking/asking questions. Then she'd pick on someone..

We used to have "find the syns" races with the books and discussions about lunch ideas/recipe reviews/taster nights.. great fun most of the time.

The reason i haven't gone back to class this time though is 1. i'd be embarrassed because it would be something like my 5th time  and 2. i find some of the other people there really rude (talking whilst the consultant or other people are talking, giving people evils when they've lost weight because they haven't and generally making the class all about them!)

Maybe i'm just a misery though :rotfl:

havea great day everyone - managed to stay on track yesterday.. here's to another day!

    B - apple, yogurt, weetabix (2)
L - jacket potato and cheese (hea)
T - pasta bake with bacon & cheese (HEb HEa)
    S - crisps (4) milk (2) nectarines, satsumas
    Mortgage amount at 31/12/2011 £166,050 now £0 as at Sept 21 - 15yrs 4 months early.

    hi all

i've decided to have a week off - and see what happens

my food is so restricted now, i'm finding it really hard - and boring!

i'll still WI next week, talk to my dietician, and make a decision from there i think.

i'm just getting too stressed about it.

for brekkie i had 2 white bread & peanut butter - OMG it was good :rotfl:
