A bit of a milestone for me today, I got back in the pool after 4 months of not swimming.
Managed 1km in 33 mins, so I was pleased with that.

I fancied a cold lunch for a change so before I went for the swim I grilled chicken breast, and boiled pasta, and left them in the fridge. Now I need to cut up some white cabbage and grate some carrotts to make lots of coleslaw. I'm going to try to make a sort of passata and fromage frais dressing.

Hope everyone has a good day, and finds some tasty syn free foods to keep them full.
  • that dressing idea sounds interesting Debsjc - I'll be interested to know how it turns out and what seasonings you put with it.

A 50g bag works out at 6-7 syns going by the 20cals=1syn calculation - hope this helps!

It was quite nice, I think I just need to tweak the quantites a bit.
Basically it was 1 to 1.5 tablespoons of Quark, a teaspoon of passata, a pinch of paprika, black pepper, and about 1/3 teaspoon of artifical sweetener.

Anyone else have any idea for a pasta salad dressing, is balsamic vinegar free?

Just wondered if anyone has any ideas on how to cope with emotional eating(other than sorting the cause of the emotions lol) am currently getting a divorce and ex being difficult and instead of being someone who weight falls off when they are stressed I keep eating...........a weeks worth of trying really hard can be ruined with one phonecall or text from him :mad:

That must be really hard. What about just trying to make the phonecall make you more determind. Get angry and think no way are YOU going to make me break my diet. Take each phone call ot text and just think 'right, that is going to make me stronger'

If you do have a day when you need to eat, have a little stock of low syn treats by you. I find actually making something keeps me busy, so the SW choc mousse is perfect. The receipe has 1/2 a syn a portion, but I added 2 sachets of hot choc, so mine had 1 syn per portion. The hartleys low cal jelly at 1/2 a syn a pot is also fab for a sweet craving.

Hope it works out ok for you.

That sounds about what I would do with it. Yes balsamic vinegar is free - I use it on salads all the time.

CF I am totally an emotional eater so can't really offer you any advice but if he's making life difficult try to convince yourself that you are going to make yourself fabulous and he'll regret all that he's done to cause the divorce!!!!!! You have to try and come through this better and stronger. Good luck.
