    Hi all

Well I just got back from my first WI and I lost 4lbs! I feel absolutely :j.

I decided to invest in some books to help me understand and plan better, so I bought the big food directory (actually I'm a bit disappointed with this as the first 5 things I've looked up don't appear to be there!), the little free branded foods and low syn snacks books, the 100 extra easy days book and the EE cookbook. That's this weekend taken care of.

To all those who seem to be a bit stuck, my friend who has been going for ages has maintained for 3 weeks and last week in desparation decided to start keeping a food diary again - and guess what, she lost 2 lbs! She says she didn't realise all the naughty little things that had crept in and writing them down gave her a real shock.

Well done all on sticking with it!
Oh dear, here we go again.

Well -- All great reading! i have really enjoyed it--
Its the only thing that takes me away from my kindle which my right hand is attached to:j
    The Red/green/Ee thing.

I feel that keeping up with 1/3 sf on meals can be difficult esp I feel if you have normal dinner but need to add salad/fruit or look for something thats sf.
I use mainly red/green with sunday an Ee

    Typical day
    B--Fruit/yog or egg/tomato/beetroot (sometimes ryvita)
L-- hm veg freesoup or hm veg & bean soup or all free salad
    D -- red--meat/fish sf veg --- I would use noodles/rice/couscous as heb
green -- stirfry pasta couscous and if I add meat I count as heb
I try to use as much free veg as poss but through my choice

From my day I work out that its as much free as poss.
I try to avoid potatoes and bread cause I cant stop at one (deff an Irish thing)

My snacks vary from a cut up salad to fruit and soup (after all its all veg!)

I hope this makes sense -- Free breakfast and lunch soup decides if i am red or green

    Today
    B -- banana/yogurt
    L--hm veg only soup
    D -- spag bol (mushrooms & tomatoes) mince=heb

    sn-- mugshot/apple

syns -- on 2nd glass wine (must have wine with pasta!! :o)

    So today lots of sf..

Wow -- sorry about the long post!!
  • hi all,

Sorry for my earlier post and if it caused any confusion. I am an extra easy girl and some times forget about red and green. I have been brainwashed by all the jargon at group which I agree focuses on EE.

I think it is a shame not more focus is put on red and green because when I first started it was all green and red. The weight loss each week were amazing and most people in their first week lost 7lbs. Now the new members seem to only loss 2-3lbs.

So if I say anything stupid again just give me a clip round the ear.

the 30 day dread arrived yesterday - so me dh, and the kids sat and watched it :rotfl: we joined in with the warm up but then all flopped on the sofa. ds2 (he's 4) saying "Yuk look at that lady's tummy, don't get your tummy out mummy. she hasn't got her t-shirt on" - there's my boy! ;)

    good eating everyone,

I've recently started SW again after having my second baby, and I'm finding the nights are the worst at the moment when DS wakes up for a feed, I find I'm starving too, but haven't had anything planned to eat then, as it's not really a normal eating time so I hadn't thought about it. But I end up sneaking into the kitchen once he's asleep again and munching 1 or 2 of the Penguin bars that OH has in.
Must try and plan something for when these night happen, which in all honesty has been most nights this week :(

It's a very long time ago since I was in this situation (but unlike other thinks it doesn't change with the years!) - I used to eat a banana in the night and that did the trick for me.

I originally joined online and didn't understand the first thing about Red and Green - still don't really understand it. It definitely works when you eat 1/3 superfree - I made a conscious effort to be aware of that last week and I had a huge loss as a result.

This week I'm really struggling as I can't be bothered chopping vegetables and I know I've sabotaged any loss this week!

Last night I went to this damned wedding. I shouldn't have gone as I was on my own (DH is overseas) and because I was invited by the groom's side (whilst all my friends were invited by the bride's side), I ended up sitting at a table where I knew no-one and everyone else was sitting with their friends. I didn't eat anything at the reception but had two diet colas (I haven't drunk any diet cola for over a month). At the actual meal the first course was smoked salmon and some kind of salad with it but I'd stuffed myself with smoked salmon (it was on offer at the supermarket) during the afternoon that I could barely look at it! The main course was chicken thigh or steak and I had the chicken - it was served with 2 of the tiniest broccoli florets I have ever seen in my life (!) and some fried potatoes. I knew I shouldn't eat them but I did!!!!!

Then dessert....it wasn't even good but I wolfed the whole lot down! I didn't even get up and dance as my back as been so bad the last few days that I was scared to chance it.

Now it's 5am and I can't sleep (probably from the choc fest) and feeling really down on myself.

Not particularly looking forward to the weekend as DH is overseas and I've been invited to friends on Friday and Saturday evenings to eat. Hoping my old plan of not eating the wrong things in front of other people will work for me!

Sorry for the moan and hoping that I can get back on plan today and salvage whatever I can before Monday's WI. :(
