Please be careful about what you are thinking/telling people....while this is true on EE - it is not on red/green days.
i cannot eat any fruit or veg due to a medical condition and it is perfectly ok for me to not do so if i follow red/green......
i am loosing weight - it is slower than if i ate all the superfrees etc, but that is just not possible for me.
I'm not surprised this seems to have come in with new people as an absolute SW rule. the main problem people have now is cz they push EE so much, anyone doing red/green is forgotten. all you get is "are you getting 1/3 super free?" if you loose slowly and when i said i did red/green still people in my group were still like "whats that?".
my consultant didn't explain all 3 choices in the introductory talk, all we got was EE and told if you were veggie look at green but for the rest of us, look at R/G ourselves later on in our own time. plus our intro was used as a talk for the whole group re telling them what the plan was after xmas to get them back on track and it literally was just EE.0 -
WI for me and I lost 2lbs, giving me my 3.5stone award BUT.....I'm meant to be maintaining. Apparently it is reasonably normal after getting to target if you still eat the SW way. I now have to think whether to have a new target (2lbs to go) or feed my face:D I'm not expecting sympathy.;)
Thanks for the recipe mm, I'll give it a try. Have a great time at the wedding, hope there's plenty of food choices available.
Ammonite, it's WW Brown Danish that's the HEB. I'm just finishing my last loaf from the freezer as now it's gone from 3 slices a day to 2 I might just as well eat wholemeal.
Great new tip (at least new to me) from consultant today for those of you with access to website. In syns online, put in name of manufacturer (e.g.Asda), then for product just put an asterisk (*). If you click the 'free food' box it will list all the free food products that manufacturer sells. Great to have alongside meal planner/shopping list.
My EE plan for today:
B: NAS squash, HEB Puffed Wheat, HEA milk (plus teas), banana
L: LO chicken casserolespaghetti bolognese (SW style full of SFs)
I think I'd better plan in some syns!:rotfl:0 -

woooo!!!:A
congrats!! well done you!
i am 2.5lbs off my 4.5stone award:eek:
i had hoped to get it for the last weigh in of January (monday) but them 2 pesky halves 2 weeks running, have totally knocked me off course
will get it soon tho!
would like my 5 stone award for St Patrick's day (17th March)
well done again. have you far to go to target?
Hi Piglet,
Thanks for that, I would also love to get my 5 stone award pretty soon, I reckon another 3 weeks and then I will be :j, well done on your journey you have done marvelously well. :A
I would like to ideally lose another 3 stone but everyone is now saying I look drawn in my face, I cant see that though, my OH calls me Terri No !!!!!
I will get my 5 stone, then take each half stone more as a bonus and just see how I get on with the maintenance, if I can get that right then I will be happy.
Good luck for the next week x
Total loss = 5 stone 12.5 lbs. / But now GAINED 1 STONE 1.5 LBS!!
46 weeks! :beer:0 -

This is why i stopped gong to class. For people who don't eat a lot of fruit and veg there is often no alternative explained except EE. Dare i say it, but Weightwatchers looks like it offers a more "flexible" approach for people who wouldn't have fruit and veg on a regular basis and i think SW may lose a few members because of it.
I've had a really interesting read this afternoon with all your posts. thank you everyone for being so helpful and supportive to each other, it's lovey to see.Mortgage amount at 31/12/2011 £166,050 now £0 as at Sept 21 - 15yrs 4 months early.0 -

tbh, i don't understand why they seem to be dismissing R/G so much. it works and it works really well. to me, EE seems to have just caused more problems than it's solved. i know people used to cheat with HEB meat/pasta portions but we all still lost weight. i lost quicker last time when i didn't do EE and did mostly green. I'm thinking of binning off EE and just doing R/G from now on.
i struggle getting a 1/3 in on EE. I've never been one to just sit down and eat a side salad with a meal. i can eat salad as a dedicated salad as the whole meal but i know that it wouldn't count on EE if i had a salad at lunch and pasta/meat/potato etc for tea.
i also find it ridiculous that loads of nice cheese and all the nuts and seeds have just been binned off on EE. eaten in the right quantities, they are really healthy things to have in your diet.
I've been cheating a bit with my HEA on EE recently because of that. cows milk sends my skin mental but goats cheese doesn't so i tend to have more goat cheese than cows and if i have cows i'll have really good cows cheese not just bog standard cheddar and the only way SW lets you have goat cheese is a 35g HEB on a green day. really good cows milk cheese is only really a green HEB choice too. ive had a few days where I've counted it as a HEA/B on EE.0 -

thank you so much...
i too could "ideally" do with loosing another 3 stone:o
im currently 13.10.5, (5 foot 6) but my final target at the mo is 11.12 , so im 1.12.5 off target.... i will see what i look like at that, i know my final target is very generous, but i know its more maintainable than maybe 10.10 would be
i do think its quite funny sometimes, when people say to me "you dont need to loose anymore,....." and "you must be at your target now"...when u are still technically obese:D0 -

I've done WW for years with yo-yoing success (join every Jan, 2 stone off by June. Stop the plan and back to square one by Xmas) and I have to say I am finding the SW diet much more flexible than the WW one. WW is fine is you have the time and inclination to weigh and measure everything but it doesn't fit easily with my work & home pressures. The only thing you don't have to measure on WW is fruit and some veg which doesn't help those who leave SW cos they dont like fruit & veg.
I agree with what you are saying about EE though - at the introductory talk, we were just talked through EE and told to have a read at and try red/green if we liked. My consultant did say that we could balance the 1/3 SF throughout the day though which makes sense to me otherwise I could have eg equal thirds of meat, potatoes & SF for lunch but it would be OK to eat a whole side of ham as a snack as it wasn't a main meal.... or have I got it wrong?Mortgage Aug 22 £280,000

I've heard it said both ways! the book itself says 1/3 superfree at meals AND make them your first choice between meals which to me is just success express with the 2/3 superfree reduced to 1/3. it then starts the free foods sections with remember to fill 1/3 of the plate with super free. if you were taking it at complete face value that suggests to me that everything you eat has to be super free or free with an accompanying 1/3 super free.
my consultant has been asking people if their meals have been 1/3 super free but not mentioning snacks or balancing throughout the day at all.
looking at SW recipes and menu plans, there are a lot of suggestions that don't even have the 1/3 super free in like we were talking about the other day. makes you want to :wall: at them! this is why i prefer G/R, i know where i am with them!0 -
I think the problem with SW is that it's in their interest not to explain things too clearly otherwise no one would sign up and pay the money! So a bit of mystique is created and some people are happy to think, 'if it works and I lose weight, who cares?'.
Personally i find the lack of understanding frustrating and a bit patronising. I'm not sure about the varying messages from consultants as I don't know whether that's due to mavericks, quality of training, attitude, how tight the franchise rules are or whatever. Don't get me wrong, I'm definitely a SW convert and a fan. I think they've managed to market Healthy Eating which is admirable!
On the SF/Free food argument I can't see how mountains of free food as snacks interspersed with meals with one third SF is correct for EE. I think balancing through the day is one third of everything you eat (except measured HEXs) has to be SF. Whether they're eaten together or on the same plate doesn't really matter. It is similar to success express except that the SFs are doubled there (two thirds) and so, I believe, are the HEXs.0
