Well done to all the losers!!!!

    Today's menu for GREEN
B - 3 eggs, 1 x nimble (HEA), 4 tsp i can't believe its not butter light (4 syns - oops thought 10g was one level teaspoon, how wrong I was!)

L - Straight to wok Amoy Udon Noodles, BBQ Sauce (1 syn), frozen Onken Yoghurt

S - Mugshot, Gingernut (not together!) (2.5 syns)

D - 100g Gnocchi (2 syns), 42g Light Cheddar (HEA), 4x Lindt Lindor Chocolate balls (the small ones) (8 syns - not worth it)

    Milk for tea (HEA)

Total syns - 17.5 BUT BUT BUT, I did a 6 mile walk which apparently burnt off 700 calories, so I don't feel too bad :)

PS - Thanks for the sweet potato advice folks! Gonna give sweet pot mash a go tomorrow night. x
  • Hi everyone,

    Congrats on all loses.

I lost 1/2 pound this week and very happy with this. I was hungry all week but kept to free foods as much as possible so it looked like it worked.

I think that some people only hear what they want to when their consultant says they can each as much as they want. Yes we can eat as much as we want but we have to eat at least a third superfree.

Free food needs to limited. If you are filling up on free foods you can't be getting your third superfrees in.

This is true for extra easy but on red/green days the free food is technically free and there isn't a rule about eating 1/3 superfree so I could just eat a whole joint of ham on a red day (helloooo Henry the 8th! :rotfl:) - I do agree with you though, as I don't feel piling on the bacon rashers is helping me overcome my pigging out issues!

PS - Congrats on being a loser!

Yes I was diagnosed with IBS a few years ago but seems to be really bad at the moment. Can't see what has triggered it either as haven't eaten anything different. The only thing I have had recently is cod liver oil with glucosamine, one a day. Have looked and can't see anything about side affects so not sure its anything. Am going to give them a miss for a few days to see if it makes a difference.

Oh another thing - smooth peanut butter - syns please????

Do you have a history of gallstones in your family? They can cause that horrible bloated feeling. The attacks usually happen after you eat oily fatty food but can often be triggered by dieting or a sudden reduction in fatty food.
Would be a good idea to have a visit to the doctor for a check up.

I don't have any 'evidence' but the texture is more like carrot I'd say.

Anyone got a good recipe (preferably low syn/syn free) for red cabbage? I've never cooked it myself:o but always enjoy it in restaurants.

I've always understood that sweet potatoes are actually better for you than white potatoes although I don't have any actual evidence - I love them though!

I've made red cabbage but don't have an actual recipe but I would think something like this -

    1 red cabbage, shredded
    1 red onion, sliced thinly
    1 apple, cubed
    frylight
    sweetener
    red wine vinegar
salt and freshly ground black pepper

Saute the onion in frylight until softened then add the cabbage and saute that.
Add the apple and the rest of the ingredients (you'll have to play around with quantities) and cook until the cabbage is completely softened.

You have to syn the apple because it's cooked but the rest is completely free.
Thank you .... I think I may need to paractice what I preach ;)!!! I went on the dreadmill but also took your advice and took my pooch out for an extra long walk....he loved it....and now I'm full of endorphines (not sure if that's how you spell it but hopefully you know what I mean) :p
Loving your summery of us having an illness....never thought of it like that before (not that we are poorly ill) but it is like having an illness... I managed to stop smoking with ease....just can't get the same frame of mind for losing weight just going round and round in circles!!!! (especially my waist ;)).

Heres to national hugs day (((((((((((((hugs)))))))))))) and thank you for all of yours! :A:A

    FC x

You're right FC it's not a physical illness but it is a mental illness just like any other addiction, however unlike other addictions we can't live without food so therefore it's harder to "recover" from it.

I also stopped smoking with ease but weight issues are a whole different ball game.

Morning everyone - putting yesterday behind me (well, it was the day after WI!) as I went to Liverpool for the day and treated myself to Jamie's Italian (it's the third one I've been to now) - had pasta with wild mushroom sauce and a side of swiss chard in garlic and chilli, but then I had a peach and almond frangipane and a cocktail! So a low-syn week for me for the rest of the week.

    Today's menu:

B: Veggie omelette with beans, cup of tea with milk from HEA
L: Super speed soup, might try and knock up some cheesy scones to go with it while monkey has his nap, if not then w/m bread from HEB
D: Diet coke chicken with wild rice and salad

Snacks will be fruit and muller lights.

    xx
