Mediterranean_Mum wrote: »Going back to our discussion yesterday about superfree and 1/3 etc etc. I asked the question on another forum I'm on as the administrator of the site is a SW consultant. For anyone who's interested (and for those who aren't!!!!) here is her explanation -
As a Consultant, this is my pennies worth regarding SF:
All official EE SW recipes, have 1/3 of SF build in already! That includes, chopped, grated, mashed...ect veg! This was confirmed by SW when one of my members questioned this!
However, if you make up your own, say Spaghetti Bolognese, it's up to you to put in as many SF foods as you can. If you just prefer to have tomatoes, onions, garlic in the sauce, add a large salad and you are covered with your third SF.
SF soup......yes, yes, yes.....made from SF then of course it is considered as your third. Obviously if the soup is made entirely out of SF veggies, then you have 100% SF on you plate!
From your description, you are definately covered with your third SF! When on EE, imagine your plate to be a 3 coloured pie chart
1st third superfree.....orange
2nd third freefood......green
3rd third original........red
If you lay out your veggies that you want to chop up in your meal, it's easier to see how much you actually have. If it's a third, then fine, you don't have to add extra on the side or have a salad!
Hope this will make it a bit clearer!
I disagree with the consultant's comment, what about the following? (all on website)
Fish & Chips (no superfree mentioned)
Mighty Mixed Grill (only mentions mushrooms & tomatoes - no quants!)
Lemon & herb pasta salad (2 spring onions only mentioned - & 113g pasta)
Spagetti carbonara (only small bunch of chives mentioned)
Ham & egg linguine (only parsley!)
Syn Free Chips (no superfree!:rotfl:)
Haddock Kedgeree (1 onion in whole dish!)
Not that i don't appreiciate her comments, but all of the recipes on the website don't really have enough superfree as per the discussion yesterday
I also disagree with the soup 1/3 debate - if you use all superfree veg & couple stock cubes - it is still over 1/3 in my opinion
I am also a little annoyed at the comment regarding 1/3 superfree 1/3 green 1/3 original - to me that is pressurised people into have meat or potatoes etc. if they don't want to!
These are only my opinions of course - so feel free to ignore them!
Any way ............
Made loverly squash risotto last night with added butter beans & green beans & quorn pieces (green day) - i went bak for second helpings! nom nom0 -

I downloaded the body clutter audiobook from the US website - you can do this from anywhere in the world by the looks of it. You can buy the physical book but I would have had to get it shipped to UK and it worked out a bit expensive. It's good as an audiobook anyway as I can listen on my ipod as I do other things - you could listen to it on the dreadmill maybe?!
Thanks PH I'll have a look at the website. I can only workout on the dreadmill if there is something decent to watch on the TV at the same time. DH listens to his ipod while out walking or on the dreadmill but he looks such a dork and talks back while listening!!!!!!!!!!!! :rotfl:Mediterranean Mum

Hi Applepad... looks ok - just check that the bread you're using is the one that's on the HEb list (haven't got my book but is it the ones from the 400g loaf, please correct me if i'm worng)
Also you haven't had you're second HEa - will this be used in drinks?
It is slices from the 400g loaf, rest of my milk have skimmed will be in drinks, normaly only have one HEA as I don`t like cheese unless its in a sauce etc.
Ended up having a late lunch so had 2 x poached eggs aswell, had a cuppa and satsuma mid morning.
Done 30 mins walk this am and a 15 min swim.

this is why i don't like EE, nobody seems to know exactly what we all should be doing with it.
i still have my old EE book that was given out when it first came in. this one helpfully coloured EVERYTHING superfree orange. it starts with "a list of all the foods you can enjoy freely, any time anywhere" then adding in "for super fast results fill 1/3 of your plate with super free foods" which gave us the impression at the time that the 1/3 super free was more like a "success express" addition i.e., if you want to loose quicker follow this but not a complete rule.
then we have orange coloured lists of meat, fish, quorn, all veg, pulses, rice, pasta and grains.
the menu we have for reference def does not have 1/3 super free for all 3 meals. we have a completely super free brekkie of fruit and a mullerlight, a potato salad with ham some onions, apple, celery and low fat from frais. only 3 bits of that are super free and me main consituents are just free, then we have a massive spag bol and the pic is just pasta and meat sauce, no salad extra and def not 1/3 of the plate. the whole sauce itself was a 1/3 of the plate in the pic! :rotfl:0 -
Eating over for the day and quite a good day. I don't know exactly how many syns dinner had this evening (all in the coconut liquid) but I think I've over-estimated. However I only had 2 syns yesterday so not too bothered.

Am doing a shop and want something savoury but low syns. Not overly keen on velvet crunch, made my mouth sore.
Any low syn ideas? Thanks in advance :Athey are nothing like velvet crunch.
Lots of chattering (very educational though) on here lately, it's really revitalised. Like Maman, I lost nearly 3 st doing EE and I'm not about to start adding another one-third superfree on top of soup or home-made pasta sauce or anything. actually you can disguise a lot of vegetables in a blended sauce (for the benefit of vegetable-hating children and OHs, and in my case I'll even eat carrots if they are blended to a mush). Personally again, I hate having a "side salad" with a meal, I'll have salad before or after, or as a meal, but not alongside.
Oh I smiled at the hawaiian birthday (was it you, TIE?). I've got a Beatles one coming up and having people round. I've spent this evening making SW-friendly hummous, chicken liver pate, smoked mackerel pate and am providing crudites to dip. Tomorrow will prepare a couple of SW potato-based quiches (maybe one bacon and onion and one with smoked salmon) and some lentil soup, then on Saturday will whip up an enormous pot of tomato (pickled onion) soup. As there's only me that is SW-interested, I shall provide lots of interesting breads for everyone else ... it'll be a feast .... When I'm 64 tra la.:jThat's 2 stone 9 lbs gone forever:j
thank you Slimming World!

if it carries on, id go and see a doctor. you shouldn't feel like that all the time.
Think I'm eating enough.....eating loads and regularly! Don't feel faint just fuzzy! Can't seem to retain much information for very long....maybe I'm just getting old....
